Dmyond Metal Detector Pinpointer, Professional Waterproof with 9V Battery

OK...I am giving this pin pointer 5 stars. Not because it is one of the best and not because it functions better than others, but because it worx. I paid less than $40 for two of them. We took them out...newbies...really didn't know what we were doing and within two weeks we have found dozens of coins, jewelry, relics...you name it. This pin pointer did its job in the hands of detectorists that were VERY un-initiated. I think that says a lot. It is pretty accurate, has pretty good depth sensitivity, good sound and haptics it is easy to switch between functions. It has one adjustment button...not a complicated machine. I had it in the water, covered in mud, it was dropped...thrown...yeah...and it kept on keeping on. It lasts for many trips on one 9v battery. It feels good in hand and is easy to tote in the field. It is a cheap, basic pin pointing metal detector. After about 90 days and dozens of trips I bought a couple different and a little bit higher level machines, and while we both like them better, it is not because they work that much better. We still have these. We used them the other day when our others were left at home and we found coins, jewelry and relics...just like we did before. Will they last years and years...I am going to say no, but if you are dipping your toe into the water of this hobby and just want a peek...well worth it. Cheap, simple effective.

This is a game changer! I recently bought a metal detector because we moved to a house on old farmland and I wanted to see if there was anything old around! The metal detector certainly helps me find an area, but I was digging through trying to pinpoint if I had already dug things up or not and once I bought this, it cut my time down incrementally! It’s small and easy to handle/ carry around. The battery has been great so far and it beeps loud enough to hear, but not obnoxiously to disturb the neighbors! Very happy with this!

This pinpointer was purchased alongside my first metal detector and was used over 3 days at North Topsail Beach, NC. It saw use in dry sand, wet sand, and even during periods of active rain while recovering targets on the beach.Setup was simple, and it worked exactly as intended. Once a target was located with the detector, the pinpointer made recovery much faster and easier. It helped narrow down the exact location of coins, fishing weights, and other small finds, which meant less digging and less time searching through sand. For anyone new to metal detecting, a pinpointer quickly becomes one of those tools you wonder how you ever hunted without.Performance was consistent throughout the trip. Detection was reliable, response was quick, and it never gave me any issues in the field. It’s very loud, which I appreciated being on a crowded beach. The vibration was also handy, however not needed. Battery life was more than adequate for several days of use.My only real criticism is that it is water resistant rather than fully waterproof. If you plan to submerge a pinpointer in the surf or shallow water, you may want to consider a waterproof model instead. That said, I was caught in a heavy rainstorm while using it and experienced no problems. It continued working normally and showed no signs of water intrusion.Build quality feels solid, the controls are straightforward, and it does exactly what it is supposed to do without unnecessary complexity.One thing I appreciated after using this pinpointer is that it reinforced my decision not to spend significantly more on a Garrett Carrot right away. As a beginner, this unit did everything I needed it to do and never left me feeling like I was missing an important feature. Exactly what I needed. Searched thru the available pinpoint finders, looking at reviews that referenced my need. Found a couple here.Let me add me 2 cents.I’m keeping it!Putting in my tool chest with the battery out for future needs when they come up.My issue was I knew in the general area where my landmarker corner pin was but poking around I just couldn’t find it.Fence is being put up at the end of the week!Ordered the pinpointer in orange & fired it up. Performed a quick test to make sure it was working properly & also wanted to see at what distance it was picking items up. Fairly impressive 5-7” in some cases.Dragged my old kaboose out to the area I marked with a stake where I thought it might be. Got down on my kneeling pad & started the search. Less than 5min into the search got a very quick signal. Slowed down to a snails crawl with the device & sure enough I very quickly had constant tone. Dug down & 4-1/2” under that tone was my marker pin!Problem solved..I think I’ll find other useful & even fun things my OCD brain can come up with to do with it. Nice little holster to store in too.

The metal detector arrived very quickly. However, the metal detector I received was non-functional. The light would blink three times when I held the power button down then turn off when I released the button. This is the first time I have ever had to return a product from Amazon. The return and replacement process was quick and easy. The replacement metal detector arrived as quickly as the original and works perfectly. It worked well to find something valuable that I had lost.

Works great until you use it in water. Absolutely not water proof, it lost about 98% of it effectiveness after that. You have be about an inch away from a shovel to detect it.

I just got this about an hour ago and went to test it out. I'm very pleased! I bought this plus a regular metal detector to find the survey pins in my yard. I knew approximately where one of them was, but it's buried under dirt and grass. I found it quickly! I waved the "wand" around the grass until I heard the beep beep beep. Marked it and walked away. Came back again in the general vicinity and tried again. It found it again so yay!Hoping I can find my lost car keys in the garage..they're somewhere under something so that's my next project.

Works great. I bought it to find property pins and found them right away. Now I'm giving it to young treasure hunters who found it amazing and fun.
