UPDATE: Revising to two stars - they worked while they worked, then started to get loose after a couple months’ moderate use. Finally they disintegrated while cutting a leader connection knot I was planning to retie (okay, they didn’t disintegrate, but they cracked and blew apart and I never did find the other half of them that went flying across the garage with impressive gusto). This was a leader knot between 0.15 mm (rated 10 lb) braid and 7 lb fluorocarbon, so it’s not something that should have put undue strain on them. I really wanted to like them, but they failed where most braid scissors do - with the connection that holds the blades together. Oh well, back to the drawing board.Anyone who’s ever tried to cut braided fishing line will tell you that while a lot of scissors will cut the heavier stuff - and that’s what ads for most braid cutting scissors brag about - the real test is whether they will cut very thin braid like 10 lb test or even smaller. These lines are truly the difficult ones to cut as they fray very easily. So of course, after these arrived, I immediately took them out to the boat to put them to the test. I’m pleased to report that they will cut 8 strand 10 lb braid very easily!If they last and continue to cut as well I’ll buy 5 more pairs. Only negative comment is that I did not receive the “free” Rig Rap as pictured. I don’t really want it so that’s not a big deal, but the seller should consider changing the photo.

I use these for cutting fireline. This is a second pair for me only so I have them in several places. My original pair is over a year old and still cuts fireline like butter with no fraying. I have even cut wire, paper, cardboard and fabric yet they remain sharp enough for fireline crisp cuts.

Use this for cutting braided fishing line. I have yet to find anything to cut limp braid, (without pulling it tight). Toenail clippers and decent scissors wouldn’t do that for me. I’ll hide these in my tackle box, and use these for braid only.

I fish a lot, and use braid a lot. These cutters are ok at best for cutting braid. Also, they're much smaller than I was expecting, they're pretty tiny. They don't corrode, so that's a plus. I would not purchase again.

Works great for braid. Nice clean cuts possible on fluorocarbon leaders to braid

Ceramic blade broke at hinge point where brass screw and threaded receiver meet. Worked perfectly up to that point. Break point looks like material defect.

These are amazing don't know how I ever fished with out them they will cut 90 pound braid like butter and the cut is not frayed at all

I've only used this a few times but so far these are the best braid scissors I've had.
