Great for postpartum lumbar support!
I got the firm support and itโs perfect! If youโre concerned about it being too firm (in my opinion) it is not too firm. It has just the right amount of squish to be comfy while still being very supportive. Iโm 3 months postpartum and work at a desk all day. My PT recommended I roll up a towel for lumbar support to encourage good posture, but I was tired of it not staying put and frankly I wanted more support. I found this and itโs perfect! I just strapped it onto my desk chair and thereโs an instant improvement in my posture and comfort! As a mom to a new baby, Iโm constantly hunched over in everything I do. So I highly recommend this for good posture!

Good quality
Seems pretty expensive for foam rubber, but it is well-made, the right size for me, and remains firm. I went with the firm density and am using it for lumbar support in a reclining chair. It provides the needed lower back support without being intrusive. Definitely has made a positive difference, Overall, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

Firm Comfortable Support
The McKenzie works well. I attached to the back of a stressless chair that would otherwise be a problem for my back. I need to be in an upright position for my particular back issue (sciatica) and most chairs lean back. The item is well made and offers firm support and easily cleanable when needed. I will probably buy another one for passenger front seat in my car as those seats do not have same lumbar support as the drivers seat and on a trip when I am passenger I think I would benefit. The product is versatile as it's easily removed & you could also wear it and move from seat to seat as needed. This would also make a great gift for someone with back problems or someone who sits at a computer all day.

Lumber Roll
The lumber rolls are perfect for anyone with lower back pain. The firm ones are good, but if youโre new to the lumber roll, I would start with the standard.

Great product!
I discovered I needed a lumbar pillow in my car for my back many years ago. So I bought this particular pillow. Well I had it for over ten years. Then it mysteriously was gone. Probably fell out of my car at night as I work nights. So I ordered anew one, exact same one. About a week after I was using it, a hissing sound of air started coming out of it, and it was working more like a temper-pedic, not staying firm. Not terribly, just not giving the support needed. So I took it to UPS, got a big envelope, as I tossed the original. Not needed! I just handed them the pillow right out of my hands and that was it! Next day a brand new replacement at my door! Pretty impressive company. Now I'm checking out the mini catalog enclosed, may order something else. Oh yeah, and the car pillow has saved my lower back.

Not for me- should have ordered softer roll
A little background for this review: I am a 28 y/o physical therapist approx 5'10", 150 lbs. I've had two episodes of low back pain, the first one while I was a college athlete in 2011, and the second currently taking place with onset about a week ago. For my first episode of low back pain I experienced good outcomes with physical therapy treatment that was heavily utilizing the McKenzie MDT approach. Because the insurance I have through my new job is not effective until March, I've been self-managing and treating my symptoms, which definitely fall into the classification of lumbar derangement- I most likely have a herniated disc. My new job is in home health so it involves A LOT of driving, which has been terrible for my back... So to Amazon I went in search of a seating modification tool that would at least help me maintain adequate lumbar lordosis in my car seat. I'm already a huge fan of the McKenzie approach so the roll was a no brainer in my decision making process. Upon reading the reviews of people complaining that the roll flattened with use, I decided to order the firm. Big mistake. After two days of use I had to give up as it provided too much corrective force and actually made my symptoms worse. The roll is still a good concept for preventing poor seated posture, BUT: I recommend that if you're not a heavier person, or don't have a lot of range of motion for lumbar extension, and especially if your symptoms are more acute, get the softer roll. Also, the roll is merely a postural intervention meant for use adjunctly with other interventions depending on the presentation of your symptoms. If you are ordering this as a solo, magic fix for your back pain, you may not experience success. *THIS REVIEW IS NOT INTENDED TO PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE. NOT ALL BACK PAIN IS THE SAME. Fast improvement for sciatica - firm density is perfect for soft furniture
I've been dealing with sciatic issues for a few months and I wish I had bought this sooner. My pain has improved significantly since using this while sitting on the couch or in my car. The firm density is excellent for my soft/plush couch, but it's a bit uncomfortable on my car seat as that is already pretty firm. I may get a regular density one for my car.

Aaah! Relief!
First, to address the 3 main concerns I saw in the bad reviews before deciding to purchase: 1. Yes, it IS difficult to stuff the foam back into its cover after removing the plastic. That said, I also struggle to get the foam back in my dog's orthopedic bed after washing the cover. That's just how it is if you want foam that fills the cover. 2. The cover IS NOT a heavy high quality material. This probably isn't something you would want a thick cover for, though - it would diminish the benefits of the foam. Do you encase your memory foam mattress in heavy canvas? Probably not, because it wouldn't feel as nice or be as effective. However, the cover WILL likely tear with frequent removal/washing. 3. Foam breakdown. This I can't speak on because I haven't had it long enough. I will say that you shouldn't leave it in your car because heat breaks foam down pretty fast. It also breaks down with heavy daily use, which is one of the reasons running shoes don't last forever. Those are valid concerns, but I feel they would be the same for any roll made with this type of foam. Now for the PROS: 1. This is the first time I've been able to sit down, without lower back pain, in a while. This thing is perfect. If the cover rips, I will repair it. 2. See #1 above. I went back and forth trying to decide between standard and firm. Ultimately, I decided on firm because at 5'7 and 200lb I'm on the heavier side. I can see how some would find it too hard, but it's just right for me. I can use it in chairs, and even lay on it on the squishy couch (but I think it would be too hard to try that on a less forgiving surface).

Good lower back support
This lumbar support is extremely good for your back. I have placed it in my chair and it does a great job of supporting my lower back .. it is firm as described and would recommend this to anyone who wants a firm lower back support .. since this is imported it is quite pricey but worth it ...

This one worked for me. Makes a real, big difference.
Unlike a so-called "memory foam" lumbar support cushion I bought here and promptly returned because the thing simply flattened and provided no support or posture correction, this McKenzie Lumbar Roll really does what it promises to do - for me, anyhow. After positioning it on the seatback as shown in the product video, it effectively corrected my seated posture by inducing me to sit upright with a slightly arched back, thereby providing almost instant relief to my lumbar and mid-back. After just a few days of use (as a school bus driver), my back pain is drastically reduced. And definitely comfortable to use. The thing is almost like a miracle massage cushion. I also really like its look and material quality. Really glad I got this model - the firm one - as I figure the regular one would collapse too much and provide inadequate support/correction.
