This will work in South Korea. They use the same plug as most of Europe and other parts of Asia and Australia.

Will this work in Iran?

It should be okay. This is outlet type F, which is common there according to the internets.

I'm traveling to italy from the us with my 2011 macbook pro. will this work on its own, or do i need an additional adapter and/or converter?

You may need an adapter. The prongs on this are the ones that are closer together. I use an adapter to plug it in to most outlets.

Will this work in Czech Republic?

Yes. I used it there and in some other 20 countries as well.
