I've tried multiple car phone mounts over the years, with and without wireless charging and automatic gripping. My first mount that gripped automatically had a button I had to press the phone against to activate. It worked okay, but was inconsistent with charging and finicky. It only lasted about 5 months before I had to get a new one. The next one used a light sensor to close the arms. That was the worst design. The sensor would activate falsely quite often when not in use, then it stopped charging half the time, so I would have to plug in my phone directly. The mount had some battery power to let me use it unplugged a couple times, but after that I'd have to switch the cord back from my phone to the mount again to get it to open. Then the retraction stopped working, and I had to close it by force. Overall it only lasted 6 months before I was ready to buy a new one, which is how I found this mount by CHGeek. I needed a mount that wouldn't break down in six months, would activate reliably, and charges consistently. After the issues with the previous mount's light sensor, I was concerned that this CHGeek mount would have similar troubles, especially since I wasn't clear on how it activates. However, it seemed to be the best option, so I crossed my fingers and tried it out. I've now had this charging mount for over a year and a half, and it's still going strong. It's easily my favorite mount, because it is super simple to use, and works reliably. The way it activates is geniusly simple – when the phone is set inside, the arms close as soon as the wireless charging kicks in, which is immediate. It charges quickly, and if someone else is driving who has a phone without wireless charging, the mount still works perfectly fine just by pressing the side button. The closing mechanism hasn't worn out, and the mount itself is sleek. It holds onto the dashboard quite well also. Although it can loosen occasionally, it's a quick fix. The rotating/tilting mechanism holds securely. The only negative thing I can really say about it is that the black finish on mine soon turned to a bronzy color on the metallic portions under UV exposure. Unexpected, but I don't think it looks bad. I often do deliveries and may use a company vehicle, or if that's not available, get reimbursed for using my vehicle. When I use my vehicle, I have no hassle getting in and out of my car with my phone and always have a full battery despite constantly using my phone for dispatching and GPS.

Phone mounts are a everywhere, and it’s rare to locate one which stands out from the crowd. I think we have found one here. I have sectioned my review out below for easy reference, so what are we waiting for lets get to it! Who is this product for: I’ve always said, every product is for someone, so who is this for? Short answer people who own a phone and drive a car! Does your phone support wireless charging? Do you own or operate a vehicle in which you want to charge you phone? If you answered yes, you are the market. Value: This unit is a good value if you ae in the market for a premium phone mount and charger. I’ve bought more expensive models which offer similar or even fewer features. Features: This unit comes with 2 mounting options, one which mounts to the vent on your car, I was not able to use this as the vents in my cars are very deep, as such the mount would not reach and grab them. I was able to use the mount to hold this to the windshield and I liked that this adjusted on angle, and allowed me to tighten and lock it into place, so it did not move while I was driving. The arm extends and the ball/socket mechanism was adjustable and held my heavy S24 ultra and case in place with little trouble. The locking mechanism is motorized and grasped the phone firmly enough to hold it but not press buttons or compress the outside case. I am over all happy with the way it’s held into place. The charging rate of 15 Watts works well and was able to charge my phone through it’s case (my case is very thick). Do know that this unit works best with a QC charger. As well there is a light on the side which will not turn green if the correct power is applied. Build Quality: The unit feels solid and well built. The motorized section moves smoothly and very quietly, the materials feel high quality and I anticipate they will last a number of years charging you phones. Controls: There is a single button on the side that controls the release and close should you need it. This unit when open will also sense your phone close and start charging. Aesthetics: I find this device to be sleek, simple and elegant. Overall I am pleased with it how it looks. Overall: This is a mid-level priced phone holder (although this is on sale at this moment for 23.39 with a 20% off coupon). With Higher level features and elegance, if you need one then go for it! This is a solid unit for a good price. Be sure to pick up a good QC 3.0 charger for the best performance.

I drive for Uber as a side gig, and I needed something to hold my phone where I could see it while driving, and still keep my eyes on the road. The wireless charging is helpful if I'm doing Uber Eats or Spark deliveries, since I'm taking the phone in and out of the truck. I didn't want to have to plug and unplug the phone every time. This unit does the trick pretty well, but It's not going to be my permanent solution. The main reason is because I have to use the vent clip mount since my windshield is so far away from the dash. But even in the highest spot on the vent, the bottom of the phone is behind the gear shifter, which blocks access to that part of the phone. This is due to how the cradle mounts to the ball. If the socket on the cradle was on the bottom, rather than the top, the phone would be higher up, where I need it. A few other nit-picky things: This mount almost completely covers the vent. That's not ideal in the winter time, when I'm needing hot air. It blows on the phone and makes it hot. Next, the auto clamping feature is pretty cool, and it works 80% of the time. When I first get into the truck, it doesn't automatically clamp. I have to press the button. Not a big deal, just a minor annoyance. Finally, if the phone is not in the cradle, the bottom support piece will rattle. It makes enough noise to be irritating. I am planning on buying a dash tray mounting bracket that sits up above the dash board. That way I can mount the phone higher. I am hoping that I can use this charging cradle instead of buying a new one. All in all, I would say this is a decent unit. Not super expensive, and has good features. It's just not exactly what I'm needing.

This thing is so convenient!!! I loved it so much I had to buy one for 2 other family members and and still have to get 1 more for my other car. My phone’s charging port broke a few months ago and I can’t charge my phone with a cord anymore. Thankfully my phone has wireless charging so I bought this and it was a LIFESAVER! I can’t believe how I went without it for so long and not to mention saved me from buying a new phone. I really can’t find any cons to this. The suction is great, the charging is FAST and I can’t get over how when you put the phone on it, it will close, securing the phone and immediately starts charging automatically. Ive used so many different kinds of mounts (and have wasted so much money!), this thing DOES NOT MOVE when you have it in the right spot!!!! No more falling or having to adjust it over and over again. Friendly tips: 1. I don’t have Bluetooth on my car radio so I also got a FM Bluetooth transmitter so now I don’t have to deal with many cords. Makes it feel like you have the most convenient set up, organized and a newer car with these 2 gadgets. Game changer. 2. For better suction (or if you don’t have a flat dashboard), buy a pack of mount suction stickers. theyre like $5-$10 and will help SO MUCH with suction!! I had to do this for my dads truck, used the sticker near the radio/climate control (it was the only good spot I could find for a flatter surface) and the mount stuck to it PERFECTLY. Literally never falls down and since the mount can change positions, I got it in the perfect place and now I wouldn’t put it on the dashboard even if I could LOL Packaging and shipping was as it should be I love this thing and will be buying more as gifts. Just get it, it will make your life easier.

There are no flat surfaces on the dashboard of my car so it took some tinkering to find the right spot. It fell off with my phone in it twice before I found that spot. I also got smart enough to let it sit for a day before I put my phone in it. It rattles when there is nothing in it, but the arm and suction cup are doing well now and seem sturdy enough. The mechanism that clamps and unclamps on the phone is very spotty. If I forget to open it before I turn the car off I have to turn it back on to open the clamps. Sometimes they open and close properly, more often than not though, it’s a wrestling match. It is absolutely NOT fast charging. The charger has worked every time but after having my four day old iPhone 16 on it for an hour while driving it had charged 7%. That’s ridiculous. The cord is more than long enough for my Kia Soul, and I can’t imagine it being a problem for too many vehicles. I travel locally every day for my job so I wanted something like this, and I’ll keep this one for now, but I don’t know that I would want this for a very long time. It’s ok, but certainly not great.

Wow! This is the best wireless charger I've purchased to date. As of installation time it does everything it said it would. I have purchased 5 different wireless chargers for my car. The first one worked for a couple years, then just died. The second one never worked as a wireless charger, which was ridiculous, so I gave it away to a family member that only wanted a mount and didn't care about the wireless features. The next one sometimes worked and sometimes didn't but it never stayed stuck to the windshield and dropped my phone constantly making it a hazard to driving (my dash is dimpled and sloped so that's never been a location I can mount and I don't believe in blocking my air flow with those mounts), so that one ended up in the Freecycle on FB. The most recent one that this one is replacing never worked as a wireless, no matter what I did, even taking the case off it just never worked (like the second one), but tired of trying to find the right one, I had given up and just used it, until it self-released my phone and broke the case! Ugh, another one that didn't charge wirelessly and then malfunctioned, the clamping arm just randomly broke and there was no fixing it. So, now I not only had to find a new mount, but also buy a replacement phone case (at lease the case did it's job and protected the phone). One super fantastic feature is the securing to the windshield. First, it has the normal suction, but the clamping system is so much stronger than the others I've had, it really locks it down. The adjustability of this is outstanding! All prior mounts had one adjustment, just the swivel and that's it, this one has enough different adjustments that I can actually use it the way I had wished I could for years! I love that this mount self-locks down on the phone, that's awesome, not something I would have thought of, but how cool, and it does a nice job too. The wireless feature works instantly and does a great job! I cannot review the quick charge yet, as I still have my original adapter, but plan to get the QC3.0 soon and will rate on that when I do. Overall this is a well designed and quality product and feels much more heavy-duty that prior products I've had. If this stands the test of time, I would definitely purchase again. Using this mount with an Android phone: Samsung Galaxy S22, so I can't really say how well it does with an iPhone.

I’ve been using this CHGeek auto-clamping wireless car charger/phone mount for a few weeks now, and I’m mostly pleased—hence 4 stars and not 5. Here’s what stood out to me: What works well: The feature I like most is how it opens and closes automatically when you press the side buttons. It’s so much more convenient than fiddling with clamps every time you put your phone in. Charging is solid. As expected for a 15W Qi charger, it keeps my phone powered during drives without too much fuss. The mount itself feels decently sturdy when the phone is in place. I haven’t had any drops or big slips. What could be better: Occasionally it fails to automatically close. There have been moments where I press the side buttons, but the arms don’t fully grip the phone until I nudge it manually. When the mount is open and no phone is in it, it rattles a bit—you hear the movement of internal parts. It’s more noticeable on bumpy roads. The finish and materials feel a bit on the cheaper side in some places, though nothing disastrous so far. Conclusion: If you want a smart, hands-free car phone mount that charges wirelessly and saves you from manual adjusters, this is a solid pick. Just keep in mind it’s not flawless—sometimes it misses the auto-grip, and there is some noise when empty. For the price and convenience, I’m glad I got it, and I’d still recommend it with those caveats.

After purchasing cheaper identical model, returning and purchasing this model I thought oh no not again, identical packaging, same model number, but alas, must be the upgraded model and charges near identical speed as my 15 watt desktop charger. Also DOES RELEASE EVEN WHEN IGNITION OFF unlike the cheaper model. Also using flip case, with the case flipped open and around the back of phone, so double layered cover still charges without an issue. THUMBS UP!

Used with Samsung S24 Ultra in Tactical Manly Man (very manly) big chungus case. I was reluctantly persuaded to upgrade to one of these modern mobile phones, I'm not into modern things but I appreciate it when something is well designed and genuinely makes your life better. As my old phone cradle no longer fitted my new oversized chunk of modern tech, I was forced to get this new item... and, this is one of those things that despite being essentially, a humble phone cradle, makes your life better. First things first. The sucker is one of these new gel type affairs that not only "glues itself" temporarily to your glass, but has a lever which increases the suction force (it also comes with a vent clamp). Next, the arm is substantial and very adjustable. Not only is the S24 heavy, but the very manly man (did I mention, it was manly?) tactical case adds weight and size to the whole affair. The arm doesn't move, even over bumpy tracks and the clamp fits well around the case. Now, I've saved the best bits for last... The clamp. It's motorised!!! You place your phone (in it's manly case) in the cradle and not only does it charge wirelessly, the clamp automatically grips your phone in a loving yet firm caress!!! The fit is fantastic!! With a press of the well located buttons, your phone is released from it's temporary home, back into your loving hand. It's a really good bit of kit. For something as simple as a phone cradle, it exceeds expectations and does it despite asking a bit too much of it, really. Well worth the money.
