It’s a lovely coffee-table volume, bound in grey textile, with beautifully photographed interiors presented in a relaxed layout and accompanied by background on twelve of his projects, including Clarence House (the then–Prince of Wales’s official residence). That said, Robert’s work deserves another book—one with a more comprehensive and up-to-date selection of projects and fuller, larger-scale illustrations. Also considering his appreciation for vintage textiles it would be lovely to see a book bound in something less grey. My book came from Windy Books and they did atrocious job with packaging - my $75 coffee-table book was packaged in a paper envelope ONLY making sure that it arrived with bent corners. I ordered a replacement which came in the same packaging and was even MORE damaged. I received kids throw away paperback books packaged with more care. Quite disappointed in the poor quality of the photographs which seem to be an amalgamation of a lot of already published images. I have been a fan for years and have seen some of these images in the original publications. Would love to have seen more of his fabled antique textile showrooms and current work.
