Medline Comfortable Folding Wheelchair with Swing-Back Desk-Length Arms and Swing-Away Footrests, 20”W x 16”D Seat

I don't write a ton of reviews,good or bad, but wanted to share my experience with this wheelchair. My brother severely broke his ankle and had surgery 8 weeks ago. Every summer, we get together for a concert, and with him being non-weight bearing, we werent sure how we'd make this work. I looked into wheelchair rental, but it was pricey, and the pickup and return windows didnt work. I checked Amazon on a whim. And for less than it cost to rent one for 4 days, I purchased this wheelchair. It came fully assembled, unboxing was easy. The foot rests pop on and off quickly and easily. The wheelchair is light enough for me to lift on my own. Last night was the concert. We were parked far from the venue in a muddy gravel lot. It maneuvered different types of terrain with no problem. Very sturdy feeling wheelchair for the price. It rolls smoothly, and the brakes are simple to engage. He was comfortable enough through the whole show. It folded up nicely to fit in the back of my SUV with plenty of room to spare. I'd recommend this for anyone needing a reliable wheelchair!

I am extremely satisfied with the 20” chair! I will be using it for 4-6 weeks. It is sturdy and comfortable. I can easily maneuver it and it fits through indoor doors. The brakes are easy to set/release. Assembly was easy. The weight is 35 lbs. I would recommend this chair!

Great chair, only missing the lift on the legs. Easy arm removal and simple levers to adjust leg length. To store it just pull up on seat and store away. Very quiet and looks good

I broke my ankle so I bought this chair cause I had surgery and was non weight bearing and I am potentially looking at a second surgery and may be played up non weight bearing again but I love the chair, it’s sturdy and pretty lightweight for my kids to take me to the doctor and places.its well made and goes over our linoleum floor well and over bumps. Great chair for low cost.

The wheelchair is a decent wheelchair. I got the small one (16") because Amazon site said it was only 20 lbs. It didn't make sense that the 18" would weigh so much more, and i wanted a very lightweight one. It arrived, it's 38 lbs. I called the company that made it and their site says its supposed to be 38 lbs . They said they did not know why the Amazon site said it weighs so little. I was given the option of returning it, but I actually needed a wheelchair asap so im keeping it. As far as sizing goes, I took tape measure across my backside and 16" is wide enough for me. It's just wide enough for me to sit in with a small space next to me. However, had I gotten the 18" there would been space next to me for my purse or basic items. The 16" would be great for youth and smaller adults. 18" is probably better for normal size adults or smaller adults who want more room. The wheelchair is a decent price and is easy to maneuver. It is a decent basic wheelchair. If your hallways/ doorways are wide enough and you are an average size adult, I'd probably recommend the 18" instead of 16" one. If you want anything lighter than 38 lbs, this is Not the right choice for you. If the Amazon site was not updated, call the manufacturer and they will confirm the weight.

Love this wheelchair and its features. It provides a safe and consistently stable ride and yet isn’t too wide to be able to navigate the older narrow hallways and turns of some buildings. I also purchased the three inch deep by 20 inch width by 16 inch length that fits perfectly and frankly takes the comfort from utilitarian to perfectly pleasant as well as safe and secure. I am also delighted with the affordability, It is one of the most well made, durable items for the value. Thank you

I highly recommend this wheelchair for anyone who needs one. I shattered my ankle and needed a chair for after surgery. So glad I bought my own to use at home and for doctor appointments. Medical centers seem to have wheelchairs that are either too large, too used, or none available at the moment. NOTE: It does fold up nicely BUT it is a little on the heavy side.

This is a fantastic chair! I bought it 8 months ago for my 96 yr-old mother. I use it multiple days each week to transport her to appointments and excursions away from home. It has a strong sturdy frame, is super easy and smooth to push, and it turns 360 degrees/takes tight corners with ease. It’s so much easier to maneuver than a transport chair and is a more comfortable ride for my mother. The brakes are very good, but the levers are hard to push sometimes. I’m hoping they will get easier with time. Also, the brakes are on the front of the wheels. This placement is for a person that’s sitting in the chair and maneuvering it themselves. Since I’m using it as a transport chair, this location is awkward. The chair is a bit heavy if you’re not very strong (as I am not); but, it’s very manageable once you find a method of getting it in and out of your car that works best for you. I watched some YouTube videos to see different ways to do this. To protect the car exterior, I drape an old scatter rug over the bottom edge of the cargo area opening so I can rest/slide the chair on the car when lifting it in or out without damaging the car’s finish. I highly recommend this chair.

We got this wheelchair for my mother-in-law, and it’s been a reliable choice for taking her on longer trips to the mall and park. Even though it’s technically a transport wheelchair, it handles distance really well—easy to push, rolls smoothly, and feels sturdy without being overly heavy. It also folds up quickly, which makes it convenient for loading into the car. The flip-back arms are a helpful feature, especially for transfers, though the armrests themselves are a bit high and not adjustable, which can be less comfortable for longer sits. The swing-away footrests are useful, but I do wish they locked more securely when moved aside, as they tend to swing back too easily. Overall, it’s a solid, practical chair that gives us peace of mind when taking her out. A few design tweaks could make it even better, but for the price and durability, we’re very happy with it.
