The Tao of Tea, 500 Mile Chai, 4 Ounce Tin

This tea is so delicious. For my taste it is a little strong. So I add some loose leaf pu erh and to cloves. Mmmm mmmm My brother loves as is. There is not doubt this is good tea. Some of the best . So my complaint may seem pettty. However it is a big deal to me and one of the reasons I buy. Infact the price went up but I thought SO !. It comes in a great tin. The tin was a REALLY big deal. I know , I know then go buy tin. I like theirs! it was great quality . I liked to use for snacks too. I just feel if they are raising the price so , they could keep tin. I am going to say one more time. There is nothing I can say bad about the tea. As upset as I am about the tin. I can not give less than 5 stars.

Very good and tasty

Black tea and herbs, spices... Steep tea in pot, then pour half a cup full, then add milk to fill cup. Hot or cold. Both are gteat!great!. Love Chai. Will repurchase. Just the right amount of spice too. I use a small pot and reboil water and steep the same leaves for another cup!.

I absolutely love this chai tea. Ironically, I came across a new can of it at a BidFTA location that I buy things from. I figured it was only a dollar, why not give it a try. I'm in love with it! I decided to try the Marsala chai tea so I can make sure this was truly what I wanted. I ordered the marsala version and was super disappointed. Little did I know that black pepper would make such a stark difference in taste. For me it ruined the chai tea. So I am sold on 500 Mile Chai Black Tea and Spices. Thank you The Tao of Tea!!

The tea itself is 5 stars, but the packaging is not. Tao of Tea used to use high quality metal containers and now they use cheap cardboard for the entire package. The lid was hard to get off and I ended up spilling a good amount of the tea while opening. Please bring back the nice tin containers!

The tea is ground into tiny chunks, which would be disappointing for the quality of dust and fannings found in a dollar store tea bag, but for a loose leaf tea is just atrocious. Because of how finely ground it is, it makes an extremely dark and bitter tea. However, they did not grind the spices, instead leaving them as larger chunks, so you don't even get a nice chai spice flavour, rather all you taste are strong, bitter tannins. If you add lots of milk and sugar to your tea then maybe that would mask the bitterness and it would be just a strong black tea. However, as somebody who drinks tea because I enjoy the taste of tea, it is not suitable for somebody who wants to just drink it straight as is. On a positive not, the tin is quite nice. It is a sturdy metal container with an additional lid on the inside that seals more tightly and helps to preserve freshness. The downside is that if you try to pull it from the handle the little knob pulls off instead, so you have to pry it open from the edges. But other than that it is a very nice container. If you can find a tin of this at your local pound shop or on clearance somewhere go ahead and give it a try. But at full price it is not worth the money. Even if you like cheap and bitter tea flavours that you mask with cream and honey, you can get the same quality of tea by buying a box of cheap black tea bags for a $1. This experience has made me reluctant to try any of this company's other tea flavours... are they all going to be low quality ground up into a bitter ball? Skip this one.

I've been trying different teas and this is one that I will buy again.

Just be careful because this brand sells other varieties, amazon has delivered 3 times the wrong tea flavor and for some reason this product isn't replaceable. Other than that the Chai is amazing, but really it's like tea lottery. So if you don't mind not getting what you ordered or want to try other flavors order this.
