Wavy and wrinkled
I took the screen out of the box and noticed a dent in the casing and thought no big deal its in a area you cannot see after is hung. So I installed it. After rolling it down my fears became reality the edges curled in and not just a little bit. In the middle is a massive wave that makes the image distort as it pans and randomn wrinkle spots are throught the screen. I've left it down for a week now hoping it would flatten out with no luck. I called the service line also no luck leave a message

Very nice screen....
I installed this the first day I got it. I heard about 3 complaints from previous viewers: bent/damaged from shipping, smell from screen; and wrinkled/waves in the screen. There was no damage to the screen or frame. Smell? Absolutely!!!!! It stinks. I don't know what the smell is from, but I've had the since January 13th, 2015, and as of this writing (2 days later) it still smells strong. Lastly, after rolling it down first the first time, there were no waves or wrinkles in the screen. I purchased the 106", black casing, with 24" drop (model: M106UWH-E24) This is a perfect size for my room. I would have preferred fixed frame screen as opposed to the pull down, but because of the screen location, it had to be pulled up if needed. Mounting: it only comes with 3 screws and 3 plastic drywall-expanders, so if you're going to mount another way, you'll need to supply your own hardware. I only needed the 2 screws to screw into the wall frame. I am happy with my purchase, but my 2 complaints are: the smell, and the screen curls a bit on the sides. I suppose that is to be expected. Amazon didn't have an option for me to add pictures, or I would have added some.

Great picture, very few wrinkles
After 7 years the screen still looks pretty good. I can see a few bends/wrinkles in it but overall it looks fantastic. I've left it in the down position the last 5 years and recently tried to roll it up. The roll mechanism broke and it no longer rolls up or down and fell to the fully extended position. I manually rolled it up a bit and locked it in with a screw.

Don't cheap out
Edges curl right away and the weight is too light, the screen moves around with the slightest amount of airflow.

Great results with this screen, beautiful picture with my ViewSonic PRO8530HDL
I recently got my hands on a ViewSonic PRO8530HDL and needed something to project it onto. I had tried another screen, a portable one with a tripod, but it was just horribly made, a total piece of junk that wouldn't even stand level. I set up that return, then looked through the options for screens that were Amazon Prime options, so I could overnight one. This one was one such, and I paid the extra to overnight it. And, of course, that flopped horribly. Ordered on Friday, paid a large shipping premium to get it overnight, and it arrived late Tuesday. At least Amazon refunded my extra shipping fee, but still bothered me that a Prime item wasn't anywhere close to even the prime 2 day shipping promise. But that's about all I can complain about. The unit itself arrived in great condition. I was mounting it up at the top of the wall in my great room, so didn't have to worry about studs, as the wall has the double 2x4's across that whole upper edge. Screwed in the screws that came with it, had a buddy help me get it hung, and that was it. I had no wrinkles or any other issues with it when I first unrolled it - was perfect already by that point. For permanent mounted screens like this, I really wish there was a way to "tweak" angle. It wouldn't be difficult for screen makers to have some kind of a screw-driven floating attachment point, so you could easily tweak it slightly up or down on each side, to get it perfectly level after hanging it. Despite the top being level, the screen itself is just slightly angled when it comes out. But the thickness and black back is awesome, since I have this RIGHT over a large bay window, and it does a perfect job of blocking all that light. The screen itself is great, the picture looks awesome on it. Bright, and has a great viewing angle. All told, I can tell I'm really going to LOVE having a projector once I get my custom designed mount done so I can position the projector at the perfect spot, since the only place to mount it currently is about 12 to 18 inches too far away, so I can't squeeze the picture down enough to fit this screen.

You get what you pay for
Over the past month I have tried 3 different Elite Screens manual projection screens (135", 120", 106"). Good: 1. Retract mechanism worked well. 2. Hooks for suspended ceiling mount are integrated in the 120" and 106". Problems: 1. Insufficient packaging: All had at least one dent in the metal casing, the 106" had 4!. Check the back side of the screen opening, they were ALL bent to some extend. 2. When hung (suspended) from the ceiling, both the 135 and 120 had a 1/2"+ twist in the metal casing from end to end. Clearly the metal casing is too thin. 3. Screen: Despite following the manufacturers recommendation (leaving down/open for one week) waves were still visible. I'm currently on the 120" which is the worst so far, 106" was the best. 135" had a discoloration spot, 106" had a dot on the back (think dried paint drizzle) which resulted in a visible indentation on the screen. Summary: 1. Manufacturer quality control is terrible. 2. Amazon's excellent return policy is the only reason I continue to order replacements. I'm hoping that I will get a good one eventually.

Love it!
I love this screen! Easy to pull down and it eases back up. Picture on it looks great. The black border around the viewing area cuts down on the distraction from outside of the screen area. We use it both inside and outside. The hooks make it a breeze to put up or take down.

So disappointed… I should have known. Buy with a motor and install right away.
I purchased it at a good price 4-5 months ago waiting to install it when doing my basement. All excited to watch our first movie on the screen and once all installed the manual mechanism doesn’t work… screen too low to watch anything… i opened the side case to notice one of the side was broken. Not sure if that explain the mechanism not working but now I have to contact elite screens to get a new side case which im not sure will fix my issue and will probably need to rewind the manual mechanism to install it and probably wont work... all just disappointing. If you have a choice go with a motor, thats what I should have done and not have to worry about a flimsy manual mechanism.. lets see how Elite screen customers service will answer. Will post back with that experience after. I should have waited to buy when ready to install and have the option to return and buy one with a motor.. now im probably stuck with this lemon..

Bien por un tiempo
Al principio estaba encantado, pero a los 3 meses se empezó a colgar de un lado y arrugar la pantalla.

Cheap feel but perfect picture
For a 106” screen I am surprised at the light weight. Also, the ceiling hangers seem a bit cheap. None of this matters though because the function and picture are perfect. I have used several roller screens and this is the only one that didn’t have “V” shaped wrinkles. Maybe just luck of the draw. The picture is bright and even, with no sparkles. The small increments for the stops allow perfect positioning and the soft closing mechanism is much better than the usual uncontrolled slam. Can’t comment on durability because this is only day one but so far a good purchase.
