I had our fireplace technician pair it to the fireplace. It works great.

Helpful company
We encountered a problem when we pared the remote with our unit. The icon for the lights and fan were not showing up on the remote after we pared it to our fireplace. A human answered the phone number that was included in the package. No AI. No long wait times. No frustrating menus. Just a nice guy. He told us what to look for and what to try. He was right. We had accidentally unplugged the wires to to fan and lights when we pulled out the unit to access the control module.

Not great
Iโve had two of these for a few years and Iโm looking for replacements. They still work. Battery life even when not in use is terrible. The active sensor to keep connected to the fireplace apparently is always on and a serious drain. Touch screens are both out of alignment. Responsiveness is suspect. Returning to previous settings when turning on is very hit or miss.
