Does it need much force to lock and unlock? Easy enough for a girl?

I installed a Powertec 20306 latch on an upright freezer door that would not seal securely. I adjusted the force needed to open and close the latch to be light enough for my wife to use it with no difficulty. Digby Willard

How far apart are the holes that the u-bolt mounts through?

I have an unused clamp on hand and measured the spacing for the 4 mounting holes as 1-5/8 inches lengthwise by 1-1/2 inches across.

What is the size (diameter) of the u-bolt 1/4"? 1/2"? I don't mean the distance between the rods, but the actual thickness of the rods.

1/4 inch. I actually just used two of these today on my firebox door to a smoker I am building.... Great product
