Hilmor Compact Bender Kit with Reverse Bending Attachment for 1/4" - 7/8" Tube and Pipe Bending, Black, CBKRB 1926598

Got this for 7/8" copper. For 7/8" lineset tubing, when I had to make a bend 180 degrees opposite direction the way lineset tubing was uncoiled - which is the absolute worst case for making a bend - this tool pulled it off, although there were a few minor ripples on the inside of the bend. No kinks though! Otherwise, all other bends made 90 degrees from or bent the same way the lineset was uncoiled came out perfect. No doubt I would buy it again. 3/8" tubing bent perfectly in any direction regardless of which direction it was originally coiled. Get the reverse bending option! Without the reverse bending add-on, you might find yourself in a tight spot where the only option is to cut the tubing and braze in an elbow. Bends are better than Brazing!

This is expensive, so it better be good, and it is. Minimal unsightlies after bending 7/8 OD. It bent 3/8 OD like a champ. Would recommend for every professional residential HVAC tech.

What a great tubing bender set. Tried a 3/4 tube as soon as I received it. It was nice. Well man and well marked. Very nice carrying case. Hope this one last forever but would definitely recommend this to friends

The reverse bending attachment is essential. Without the attachment, you would always need to be able to place the tool on the inside of the turn. In my first use, about half of the bends I did, it would've been impossible to get the tool on the inside. This bending kit was worth every penny. It was especially helpful since I was working alone with 7/8" ACR tubing in a basement and crawlspace. Without a second set of hands, it was difficult to bend the tubing reliably to follow the path I needed, but I could always use the tool to tweak a bend at a critical point in the path. It's very satisfying to be able to weave the tubing around without compromise and have no joints in the middle hidden under armaflex.

I’ve gone through a few sets, this is by far the best.

We compared this bender against the YJ with plastic mandrels. We had problems with tubing being too kinked using the YJ and wondered if it was bad tubing. We did a series of bends using the same tube stock using both benders and the Hilmor bender made noticeably better bends because of it's stiffer metal mandrels. While it could be seen as genius where Hilmor made the bending attachment such that you can reverse it and have only one piece to handle on the tool, but myself I would have preferred to have two of the bending attachment bars (used depending on tube size) because many times space is SO tight that the longer unneeded length when bending 3/8 tubes just gets in the way with the work are constraints. Since getting this tool, I've really become much better at not needing a bender. That's in my opinion better than having it lol. All in all I think it's a well made tool. I have concerns about warranty service in the event that it breaks because Hilmor is weak on the distribution and supply chain in the USA and has no local retail presence. All in all I would recommend this one over the YJ for those interested.

Never disappointed with hilmor products. Makes perfect 90's. Installs look super clean and professional. A must have

if you know what youre doing, annealed copper or soft copper (pair coil) only as if you try to usef it on rigid pipe you will have a hard time releasing the the ratchet, my only problem is i wish it had markings for 90° as some competitors tool others wise works, does the job and no ripples or kinks in the pipe

Some of the dies dont seem to line up correctly and warp and crush the bend.

Pricy but worth the money. Resi HVAC used it all summer no complaints
