It was very good and priced right

In all honesty I purchased this when starting my aquarist hobby thinking they were ceramic rings meant to cultivate that healthy bacteria our fish love and need to survive. Upon realizing I purchased the wrong Item I purchased Fluval Bio Max, which is the correct product for healthy bacteria to live in. Instead of returning them or throwing them in a box in my attic, I decided to give them a try and put them in my canister filter. These are great for getting some thick pieces of junk and detritus that managed to avoid getting caught by your other mechanical media, your sponges. I recommend these only if you have biological space to sacrifice for mechanical media. Please rinse these as much as needed until you get rid of the powder. Look at my images, the round ones are the biomax and the others are the pre filter media. One of the images is both products dry and the other is how they look after being used for a month. Notice the color difference, The pre filter being darker as more gunk is attached to it.

Keep the water looking clean and clear. Last forever if you clean them occasionally. Smell and noise is no different from anything else. I prefer the shape of these to others.

Muy buen producto !!!! , rompe las psrticulas grandes facilitando que las esponjas las atrapen con mas facilidad !!!, al momento de lavar mi filtro canister se ve toda la suciedad que igualmente atrapan, Ojo 1 esto sirve para filtros canister o bien filtros que tengan mucho espacio y se pone a la entrada del agua Ojo 2 no es filtro biologico, si bien es ceramico, no es poroso, si frotas uno contra otro da ese sonido duro como frotar piedras nornales, no como frotar corales.
