In 2000, Pope John Paul II canonized the great 20th century visionary of Divine Mercy, Sister Faustina Kowalska, and proclaimed the Sunday after Easter to be celebrated annually as Divine Mercy Sunday. In 2006, Pope Benedict stressed that "Divine Mercy is not a secondary devotion, but an integral dimension of Christian faith and prayer." Now Pope Francis has proclaimed an extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy , which will begin on December 8, 2015. These three Popes have made it very clear that Divine Mercy is a major part of the Christian faith, and now this powerful new book reveals why. Best-selling author Vinny Flynn continues his popular "7 Secrets" series with a book that brings him back to his roots. Vinny was one of the original editors of the official English edition of the actual Diary of St. Faustina , and he has written and edited a vast number of the Divine Mercy materials that are used today. Through his "secrets" of Divine Mercy, Vinny shows how Divine Mercy is not just another worthy "private devotion"; it is the key devotion, the umbrella devotion over everything else. Every other devotion in the Church, every ritual, every activity, every teaching is under that umbrella of Divine Mercy. Itโs all there to help us understand and enter into Divine Mercy. He shows us how everything in our lives can become more meaningful, more powerful, more life-changing once we really embrace the gift of Divine Mercy โ the overflow of love from the Holy Trinity. In this compelling and timely book, Flynn draws from Scripture, the teachings of the Church, and the Diary of St. Faustina to not only reveal the heart of Divine Mercy, but to offer you an invitation and a road map so that this mercy can transform your life. If you're not yet convinced of the impact Divine Mercy can have on your life, if you've never heard of this message and devotion, or if you're curious to learn more about it, this book is perfect for you. It shows us all how to respond to the call of Pope Francis "to live lives shaped by mercy", and benefit greatly from the "Year of Mercy". Review: God Has a Plan, and Here It is! - This book helped me understand more about Divine Mercy, specifically that it is more than just the chaplet. Its purpose is to enable one to focus on God . Vinny Flynn's real life experiences help tone to think more concretely about their relationship with God, even to the point of participating in the life of the blessed Trinity. What one must do is to become holy, and this is hard. The chapter on impediments to opening oneself fully to God helped me identify problem areas to be amended, with God's help and individual cooperation. The section on the image of Divine Mercy was also an invitation to learn how much God loves us. The parts discussing how God loves backwards from the way we do, and the significance of the prodigal son were helpful in showing how, since God has loved us first, we can love others. The secret discussing how we receive Mercy and how to pray thew chaplet in order to become more trusting and thereby able to receive more grace also emphasizes meditation on Our Lord's Passion. This links one's prayerful contemplation to the Mass itself. And Vinny did a service to me by discussing the specific phrases of the chaplet and their significance. Finally, he shows how the chaplet can be applied to intercessory prayer for the sins of the world that need to be healed, as well as for the dying. I brought this book and the other two in this series together, 7 Secrets of the Eucharist and 7 Secrets of Confession, which was good for a "Spring Cleaning from God", which I needed. By reading all three together, you can better understand the stipulations of the feast of Divine Mercy in gaining the complete remission of sins and their effects, but most of all, a better participation in Vinny calls the eternal Now of God. He specifically refers chapter 3 in 7 Secrets of the Eucharist and Chapter 5 in 7 Secrets of Confession for a more complete treatment of this, so it's good to have all three volumes on hand. And so, the final goal of this book is to try to grasp what the end of this is, which is transfiguration. It is a process strengthened by the sacraments, enabled by sanctifying grace and manifested by our ability to be transmitters of mercy to the world. The model of this is Our Lady, whose fiat became an amen which we should imitate. Happily, God will help us in these difficult tasks and when we fail and become discouraged, He sends even more mercy, forgiveness and love if we just keep trying. I found this whole treatment compelling, relaxing and enabling me to have a confidence in God I had trouble with before. Review: fantastic insights into Divine Mercy - Fantastic book. Pages 27 and 28 about eternal life were so amazing that I have read and reread them. I would highly recommend this book to every Catholic. If you weren't interested in the Divine Mercy of God and the devotion to it before, you will be now. And if you thought you knew all about it, you will learn new things. And as always, Vinny Flynn's books are easy to read even thought the insights are deep.

It was recommended by Fr
I bought seven secrets of Divine Mercy by Vinny Flynn, for one reason really. It was recommended by Fr. Peter Damien Fehlner, FI. Father Peter Damian states, "If you have never read a book on the Divine Mercy devotion, here is the best one to begin with. And if you have read many, here is the best guide for a more profound grasp of the mysterious secrets underlying the stupendous Mercy of the Divine Persons. Highly recommended." This statement is absolutely true! If you feel drawn, or even marginally interested in the revelations of Jesus Christ to Saint Faustina, and want to deepen your knowledge of God's mercy towards mankind, you could hardly do better than to study this book. I gave it five stars, but it deserves many more!

Life changing book for me, and anyone on a deeper faith journey. Flynn is able to take complex thoughts and present them with clarity. The book was given to me, my mission is to give it to others to encourage and sow a joyful understanding of our faith that does not leave one but instead takes one to a new level. I will be Buying more copies of this book and Flynnโs other titles.

Outstanding read on Divine Mercy!
This book turned out to be better than expected, and filled with information found nowhere else. I actually finished it, then started rereading it once again, this time more slowly. More than worth the time!

I began my spiritual journey many years ago. My development has been a slow process but I now understand God only gives you what you want as you need it. I have read many spiritual books along the way. The "Poem of The Man Good" was a big step. https://www.amazon.com/POEM-MAN-GOD-Five-Set/dp/B001DBLAVS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475802532&sr=8-1&keywords=poem+of+the+man+god+set. Recently I read St Faustina's "Diary Divine Mercy in My Soul" which has been a absolute major watershed in my development. https://www.amazon.com/Diary-Saint-Maria-Faustina-Kowalska/dp/094420337X/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1475802837&sr=1-2-spell. Vinny Flynn's "7 Secrets of the Divine Mercy" has further enlightened my understanding of the Divine Mercy. It is a must read by anyone who is really wanting to follow Christ. Why have I missed Saint Faustina message for so long? I thank God for the grace of his divine mercy. I just wish I had been more ready for it many years ago. Read the Vinny Flynn's "7 Secrets of Divine Mercy" - you will not regret it. The world is so far away from understanding what this life is all about.
