50-1000 VOLT DETECTOR

Seems to be almost the same as what I thought except these two new ones I bought was not exactly like the old one I had which was presented when I ordered it except these do look heavy duty and does have a light that goes on which is a big plus so yes, I do recommend these electrical power testers

This is my second GT-12 so far. I used to use the GT-11s and always hated the twist top to turn the tester on, which would eventually fall off. The addition of the push button makes this a much nicer tester. the only complaint i have about these is that the battery cover feels flimsy, you can push on it and feel it slide sideways. My previous GT-12 never lost the cover but it feels like a potential issue for those of us who use these often. The self check is nice however please remember too always test on a known live circuit first to make sure it works.

I needed to determine which of my black wires was line vs load and this made it fast and easy. It also kept me from a good jolt when I thought I had all the electricity turned off but forgot one of the three switches in this box was a three-way and apparently on two different breakers. With a gazillion wires in this box it was still easy to figure out which of my lines was load vs line. Very straightforward and exactly what I needed. It'll get a lot of use.

I am an electrician so I use this item every day. I do not like that it must be turned on to work. And it turns itself off, so I must be very careful when using it to determine if there is no voltage, or if the unit is just turned off. I previously used a fluke which is much more sensitive and a much better detector. Added: After using this item for a few months, I no longer trust it. Even when I make sure it is turned on, I can't depend on a reliable reading. It works sometimes and refuses to work 80 percent of the time. I am very sorry I bought two of these units because I just threw both of them into the trash. I won't even give them away because I am afraid someone will get injured or worse relying on them. They are worthless junk. I purchased another fluke.

I have had other products over the years, but hands down Greenlee is the best. Bought this for my dad, so he wouldnt take mine. He loves it.

With the on/off button on top, there is no chance of the device powering on by accident

I love this little tester. Its audible/silent and bright red color.I don't really use the silent feature but its nice to have it in certain situations. its got alot of features for a little tester. If it had the flashlight like the ideal brand, it would of gave it 5 out of 5. but its definetly something to have in your tool pouch.

does just what it says, is easy for everyday carry. Greenlee has been highly recommended by professionals to me and I have owned an electrical testing kit from Greenlee for a number of years with no problems. Definitely recommend this product for it's capabilities and convenient size (Every day carry). The only thing I would recommend is that the battery cover be a little more durable, it's kind of delicate and the clip on it looks like it may break after a while. I will be careful with it but that is the only thing I could see that needs improving! Other than that, four stars... could always use improvement!!
