For most, the goddess Tara the Goddess of compassion and protection. Few people know that she has several other natures as well; 21 in all. She, like most deities in the eastern religions, whether it be Hinduism or certain forms of Buddhism ,have several different natures. As I stated in the book on Kali in this series, I mentioned that many deities have qualities that we, in the west, may consider to be "evil" but in the east, they are considered "wrathful". Tara and her energies are very well suited for use in Magick. More often than not, her energy is loving and embracing. But as I said, she has a wrathful nature that can very much be equated to the Hindu Goddess Durga and perhaps even Kali of the Hindu traditions. This wrathful nature can be harnessed. Another cracking book by Baal kadmon.If you're nervous about trying Magick this guy and Damon Brand will put you at you're ease.The attitude is 'Don't worry I know what to do and I'll show you It's easy'.No making a big deal about anything,no posing, just great information and magick that works really quickly.Simple is great,fun and effective,don't make it harder than it needs to be.

I bought several ‘books’ by this author because the subjects interested me. I’m halfway through this one. First, these are not books by any realistic definition. They are unpaginated double spaced pamphlets printed by Amazon, with spacing issues (a line that ends with an open quote). The screen shot I’ve included shows the main ritual set up where the author promises a link to follow, but doesn’t include it. This is something that would be caught on the simplest proofreading pass. He mentions Hindu as well as Buddhist Tara and half way through, I think he’s talking about the colors of Buddhist Tara and has conflated Buddhist and Hindu deities. Not Hindu UgraTara, whose bad side I expect he’s on. He includes a whole section from his book on Kali that clarifies ‘evil’ vs ‘wrathful’ and I found that well written and clarifying. I’m adding a star for that. Even if he did it to inflate the page count, it’s justified. But overall, the presentation and lack of pagination and proofreading really makes me wonder about his research and ritual. If Baal is this sloppy about ritual, I don’t think it can be good. I’m left wondering if he doesn’t know what he’s talking about or if he just doesn’t give a damn and is more interested in profit than teaching. I am going to see if any of these books are eligible for return. Really disappointed.

very basic
this book gives very short explanations about the tara mantra, and it also gives a version of the 21 tara praises without explanation. It gives 5 basic rituals about Tara. There is many pages related to the table of contents, to the other books of the author, so I was quite surprised that there was not so much content about Tara and it was quite short. The spelling of the tara mantra itself is quite surprising and I never found it somewhere else, even if it doesn't really change the pronunciation. It may be convenient for someone who wants a quick approach about Tara, but it can be too short for people who are more familiar with this energy.
