Great both ways
I was looking for the input and outputs working the opposite way but couldn't find it. Although this is advertised as one-way, it worked for my needs and i was able to use it for multiple printers connected to my computer. Awesome product, especially for the price. Easy and quick set up for connections.

Functional and inexpensive.
If you have one printer to share with more than one desktop and/or laptop, this is an easy, simple way to do it. I usually prefer wired to wireless connections in general. If you don't want to deal with setting up a wireless network and all the possible problems setting it up, then this is the way to go. It only takes the time to plug in the cables. Since it doesn't come with any cables, you will have to buy the type-A to type-B printer cables, unless you already have them. I gave it 4 stars because the housing felt a little flimsy, otherwise it works perfectly fine.

GREAT PRODUCT - POSITIVE PRINTER SWITCHING BETWEEN MULTIPLE COMPUTERS!
I bought one of these some years back so I could use my printer with two computers. The unit is designed for use with up to 4 computers although I only have two. To my great surprise, the unit worked very well and has held up over time with much use. I just got a second (color) printer and as I still have two computers i decided to buy another switch unit so I could use the new printer with either system - just like the older printer. The switching is positive and the button actuation "feel" is top notch. If you have a need to share a printer with up to 4 computers, this is the printer switch to buy!

UNEXPECTED PERFECT FIT, WORKS GREAT FOR MY AUDIO MIXING!
Well, I honestly did not think anything good will come out from this device. I was looking for a USB 2.0 Type B splitter but could not get any.. However the switches I have seen so far (this one included) had the undesired in/out direction set. Was at least looking for USB 2.0 in with 2 TYPE B OUT. But this was the contrary... Yet as I was browsing to order something else I added this one with NO expectation at all... thinking it's just $8 and worst will trash it... But oh BOY! Was I wrong! This not only sat very well where I was needing it, blends in very well, and top of it the switches buttons do work well as intended between both connected computers, and though the direction of the in/out is not what I expected, yet it carries EASILY both ways from my Mackie ProFX 16 mixing board (in/out and out/in).. I can easily record sound through the box into my audio software, and playback sound into the mixer perfectly through the same box! Note: At first, I was hearing some crashy noises on the playback, but very quick it was ruled out from being the box, as the track picked up from previous noises. So to say this item did more than I actually thought it could ever do! I'm impressed indeed! Will recommend based on my on site impression!

Click, clacky mechanical switch!!
This thing is great! So great I actually went back and bought another! Unlike most other ones of these, this is a nice, clicky-clacky mechanical switch powering this thing. It's not one of those all-electronic ones that switches away every time you plug something in. Plus, unlike most of them, the buttons are on the front meaning you can stack things on top of this and still have access to the buttons. And those buttons make all the difference too. You're on 1 and want to go to 4? Press 4. You don't have to 'cycle' through them like you do on other units, which, by the way, can confuse the machines they're connected to, seeing a usb device get plugged in then instantly ripped out again. This avoids all of that. Plus... it's just so fun to click! Even when it's not connected, I still use it like a fidget toy. :) The only 'knock' I can give against this is it isn't USB3, only 2, and it still uses the older USB cables you don't really see that much anymore... the ones with the 'chamfered squarish' plug like you see in the back of a printer, labeler or copier. Then again, chances are that's exactly what you're going to be plugging into a USB2 hub so that may very well be a benefit being able to use the same A-B cables for both the input and output.

Bought 2 both unusable
Bought one to replace an existing switch and a second for a new setup. I replaced the existing switch, but it can't maintain a connection between any of the connected devices. Roughly 1-5 second gap then a 1 second connection, off and on for as long as I kept it plugged in. It doesn't ever stabilize itself. Hmmm... must have been a bad unit. So I swapped for the second unit I bought to help me manage a different setup. Same problem. So both devices are completely unusable. I really wanted these mechanical switches instead of my electronic one that resets it's position when the devices are unplugged. These are also great for stacking and match some of my other hardware. At least what I had works, so I switched back and returned these.

Stopped working properly on my 7th month.
Stopped working properly on my 7th month. As others mentioned here, it started with occasional disconnects and within couple of month progressed to a regular(sometimes every 5 min) behaviour. I guess desgin was made for you to be on a subscription basis - buy it every 6 month and you should be fine. Oh and i did contact the company for the 1 year warrantly claim - guess what? - They gently pointed me which corner to go and be silent. They are very polite at not being helpful.

Needs to be unplugged and plugged in again
I bought this because nearly every other desktop USB switch has ports on both back and front - a nightmare for keeping cables out of the way. Well done for getting this right! Unfortunately the switching is clunky and seems to be causing errors on USB with my Logitech webcam (I am switching keyboard/mouse and webcam to share two computers with one screen). If I unplug from the affected laptop and reconnect, all devices are back online. This doesn't happen with the Ugreen USB switch I was using before, which I replaced because of the cable mess. USB switches never seem to work perfectly with every device, but I wonder about the manual mechanism used here vs. an electrical switch. Does the latter handle the interruption better and prevent errors? I can't say for sure. But unfortunately it seems to be a choice of tidy cables with this product or reliability with others, at least in my case.

Great for when you have two PC's and only one printer with one input port
Just what I needed, I work from home and need to often print stuff out, I've two USB Type B (printer shaped connector leads and it's a real pain to have to reach to the back of the printer to swap over from one to the other all the time. Using this Switch box and a short USB -A to USB B type fitting lead I've connected the Two USB -B connectors from the computers to the switching box, then a simple USB A to USB B lead to the printer. Now all I've to do is press a button to switch between the two, perfect :)

It started so well
It was good at first - operated as expected however quality of product sneaks in. Only used for a bit โ and as per the one star reviews seen โ at least one of the ports has become unusable! I could take it to bits and fixed it (its obviously a poor solder connection) but I shouldnโt have to! A big shame overall as did what I wanted it to do (however for very little time)
