All you have to do is pack a pen and a gold star! Review: Great notes book for kids, set up like a game with points - lots of fun. - I bought this for my teen son. I like the layout and how it encourages kids to really listen to the service/sermon to catch the words for points. I really like how they get points for other things like brushing their teeth that day. It ties in lots of good habits, not just good listening skills. It turns the sermon into a fun scavenger hunt and lets them recap their favorite things from the message. I would highly recommend this book, and will probably buy more when this one is full. **Like many others, I rely heavily on desertcart customer reviews before purchasing anything anywhere (on desertcart or at brick-and-mortar stores). So being honest about my experience with a product is very important to me. If I am presented with a good product, my review will reflect that. And if the product is not so good, well, my review reflects that too. Please vote if you found this review helpful. Thanks! Review: wonderful book! - Great book. There are 6 different pages, repeated throughout the entire book. My 10 and 8 year old boys love these books, as it keeps them engaged during sermons and I believe has helped them to learn to take notes. I have always taken notes during the sermons and it is a great tool for teaching children how to do it, and enables them to doodle and not squirm around as much!

Great church companion
Both of my children have loved these books. Teaches them to be engaged while helping them stay busy. Good mix of activities that are geared towards helping them listen.

Visual reminder to discuss and learn...
My daughter and I have both enjoyed her use of this journal. It gives us an easy way to get into discussing the sermon and what each family member took away from it. She has even brought it into the restaurant with her, of her own choice, to discuss while we wait for our Sunday lunch to be brought to the table. I find this a very valuable tool so as not to hear the sermon and then leave it at the church doors. It is a visual reminder in a time of hurried life to stop and really discuss and learn what the sermon is teaching.

Great Find to Keep Kids Attentive During Church!
I love the whole idea behind this book to keep kids engaged and attentive during church-8 years and up like it says. It has great components-everything from a place to write their favorite song, the Scriptures, key words to listen for, check off lists, and even a place to doodle. I love it, but I would suggest a little smaller size. Many kids carry around a small Bible, and this book is large. I know it's to fit everything, but maybe the type and items could be made slightly smaller to decrease the size of the book.

Please use this and do not allow "checking out"!!
I purchased one of these for my 9 year-old son to use during church services. I like the idea of this book very much. He enjoys adding up the points and trying to beat his "high score". One of his friends sat with him one morning and I noticed the friend listening for the words and pointing them out to my son if he missed them. I have since purchased another one of these for the friend. As a pastor's wife I would love to see all of the children using these. Too often anymore I notice the children are playing on phones or tablets and "checking out" during the services. Sadly, the youth are doing the same and the parents are not training the children to listen and learn from the services. I feel these books are a great way to get a child involved in listening and train them for future note taking as an adult. Highly recommend these!!

Great book for encouraging kiddos to sit and listen through church!!
Purchased this after reading about it on Darlene's Blog! My 11 year old loves it and could hardly wait for Sunday to arrive so she could start earning up her points. The art work is adorable! We got a lot of positive comments from other kiddos that wished they had one too. Only thing I'd do to improve on this wonderful book would be to possibly have a thicker grade of paper so it will hold up to the use of markers. Ink bled through to the next Sundays page. Will use colored pencils or crayons next time.

Great for kids or adults!
I found this on a nephew's wish list for his birthday. He loves it. But even more exciting, I showed it to my 11 year old and 9 year old daughters, and they're both excited to get one, too! I think it will be a valuable tool in helping them to keep up on sermon notes, as well as to give them profitable things to do during the parts of church not as interesting to them (business meetings, etc). I wish it didn't state the age right on the cover. If it didn't, I think my older kids would use it, too. That's something the makers could change on future versions.

Tool to help your child consistently engage in church
I'm always on the look out for new ways to engage children in church. This is a very interesting way of doing so. There are 3 pages of worksheets that are well laid out to keep a child engaged in the service as they have things to look and listen for. The only thing I would mention is that this book IS NOT a collection of different activities rather, it is a repetition of the same three worksheets, though differently illustrated. Given the length it would appear to cover about a year worth of services. This is good for a building a consistent routine of listening and working through what is being done and taught in the service. This book would best serve you by having one per child which they bring every week.

I really love the content of these books
I really love the content of these books, but I do not like how they are bound. They would be so much easier to use if they were coil bound and hardcover. They are not going to be easy for the kids to use at church the way they are.
