Fun product and functional
Easy to build, good quality. My son really enjoyed this.

Lots of wind
I found that in order to turn the turbine blades, you needed a lot of steady wind. Putting it in my garden with a fence, trees and bushes nearby was pointless. Also, if you took it to a park, you'd need to wait all day for the batteries to be charged. I found it useful for demonstration purposes during a wind power activity for students in a secondary school. However, it was only useful with the wind turbines being turned by the use of the rechargeable batteries in the back.

Wind Turbine
Product rather flimsy so rotor blades snapped early on in assembly. Really not robust enough for children.

Returned .. useless.. do not buy .. disappointing Xmas gift
Easy to build like Lego The motor resistance is far to high. The experiments with a hairdryer didn’t move the blades at all ;-( We held the blades without motor attached it span perfectly. It would need gale force winds but you can’t leave it outside in rain or frost. The motor built into a car with a brand new battery it turns the wheels but as soon as you put it on the floor it stops. Booklet was great lots of information just very disappointed it didn’t work Aimed for child 8-14. (I’m 44 very disappointed returned for refund I’ll buy a real one )

You need two kits for this to work as you might expect
You buy this kit thinking that you get a wind-turbine and a car. In fact the motor of the wind-turbine doubles up as the car motor. So you have to dismantle the wind-turbine to run the car! Not very practical. In the end I bought two kits so that you can use the windmill the charge the AA rechargeable battery and then simply place the battery into the car - without having to take the whole lot apart every time you want to run the car. This is a great kit otherwise, with a lovely instruction booklet that goes far beyond simply instructions on how to build the kit. Your kids will learn how those wind-turbines in the countryside charge your Tesla car at home! ;-)

Turbine would not turn in wind. Some would think this a basic requirement of a wind turbine.

I am 20 years older than 18. I always enjoy tinkering. I am interested in wind generated power so I got this given I felt it was reasonably affordable. Very easy and forgiving to setup. The piece that houses the battery and motor compartments plug and plays between the trmie one and the car you can construct. Additionally, you will need rechargeable batteries for they are not included. Enjoy!
