Great workbench for gunsmithing. Light needs to be brighter, but is okay.
This workbench is super sturdy and perfect for my uses. To the guy that showed the video of how wobbly it is, tighten the nuts and bolts man!!! As I was putting this together, it was sturdy just by finger tightening the nuts and bolts... when it was together I went around and tightened everything, it would hold a tank. Some of my projects are worth many times the cost of this workbench, so believe me, I wouldn't use it if it weren't strong enough. The only thing so far I wish it had, was a place to attach a vice. If I replaced the top, I could fashion a location for a vice, but it is a very minor issue. I love this workbench and would recommend it. The instructions could be better but with a little patience and logical thinking, anyone should be able to put this together. I put this together all by my lonesome and it was pretty easy, just took a while. As I stated in the headline, the light could be brighter... I have purchased a 6500 lumen bulb which should do the trick. If anything changes, I will update this review. I would definitely recommend. UPDATE: Not really an update, just an observation... I see a few complaints in other reviews as to this workbench not being sturdy. While the instructions do say to hand tighten all the nuts and bolts, I can tell that most do not read the instructions in full... the very last line in the instructions says that you need to go back and tighten all the nuts and bolts. The very last line. If you don't tighten the nuts and bolts, it won't be fully sturdy. To those that returned it because it was wobbly, you are missing out on a great workbench. As I indicated before, you need to use a bit of logic.

Sturdy, inexpensive. Quality is what you'd expect at this price point.
I ordered two of these and when they arrived it was double boxed and fortunately not damaged. The packing material is minimal, so with rough delivery I see how it could be damaged in transit. In general, I like the product and based on my experience would buy it again. Assembly instructions are sparse. Do hand tighten to start as you'll need to adjust things to get bolts in place. The unit will get solid once you tighten everything. The tip I really needed is that there are several bags of screws. The instructions refer to the screws by "part id" but the bags list the "description". So I recommend going to the back of the instructions and labeling each bag of screws with the corresponding part id letter. One bag has a lot of screws and those are the ones you're going to use for most of the assembly. The exceptions are the peg board, the shelf tops, drawer pull, and drawer bottom. The diagrams show the letters but it's REALLY small, so look carefully. Each "beam" is labeled with a number, and some have an L or R to denote left and right when looking at it from the front of the bench. Also the beam numbers go in order, so 1 then 2 then 4, etc, so that can be helpful when you're sorting parts or have someone helping you. If you have a helper, they can always get started on the drawers right from the beginning. As for amount of parts, mine did contain exactly the correct number of pieces. The washers can stick together, so be carefully you're only getting one. I imagine it is possible that they could make a mistake on occasion, but the parts are simple and could be picked up at any hardware store. The hardest part is bolting on the left and right drawer sides. Tip for the top bolts, turn the piece so that the drawer slide faces down and then you've got plenty of clearance for the top bolts. As for the bottom bolts, if you can't get it with your fingers then a 10mm socket with a small extension should do it. When assembling the top area, make sure to carefully watch the pictures. The supports going up from the bench only have screws on the sides. The screws from the back will come in when putting on the peg board. And make sure that the hole in the center of the support is front to back as this is also going to be used for the peg board. As for tools, most screws are #3 phillips with some being smaller. Most nuts are 10mm with a few 8mm, so a socket wrench or a box wrench would be needed to tighten the bolts. For the main bench table, make sure to slide it under the peg board when installing or it will appear not to fit. Don't trust the drawers until you've tightened everything and make sure to tighten the drawer part under the main table as that's easy to miss. When installing the drawers make sure to fully extend the rails and push them into the side of the drawers to ensure they are attached. It can be easy to have them partially on and the drawer fall off taking part of the slide with it. This happened to me and fixing the slide was no simple task. The florescent light sucks. I plan to get some LED lights at IKEA. Last note is that there are many brands that have this same exact product like Harbor Freight, so just searching for multipurpose workbench comes up with a lot of videos about this.

Great Product!
I bought two of these to hold all of my husband’s tools. They are perfect for what I wanted! I was skeptical based on the reviews but assembly wasn’t bad at all. I have put numerous furniture pieces together and this wasn’t that difficult. I have definitely assembled worse items. I did the assembly by myself and it took me about 2.5 hours total per bench. Pay attention to the photos in the directions and it will all go together just fine. The only thing is the packets of hardware aren’t labeled as to what you use them on but a little common sense and counting holes and you can figure it out pretty easy. I didn’t have any problems with holes lining up and the whole thing is very sturdy once you tighten all the bolts. This is a great deal and looks fantastic!

OK for a Medium-Duty Bench, But a Pain to Assemble
OK, I just finished assembling this workbench. Here is what I would like to share with others considering this purchase. 1) This is a medium-duty workbench, at best. It works OK for me, but if you need a heavy-duty bench, then this definitely is not your item. The bench is study enough, but the sheet metal is lighter gauge than I expected. The drawers work OK, so far. The shelves are laminated particle board and are a weak spot. The workbench top is 47W x 23.5D, which seems chincy. I screwed a thin piece of plywood on top of the benchtop, to give it more durability. 2) When it comes to assembly, set aside an entire Saturday morning. You will not confuse this with an IKEA item, that's for sure! I was dismayed when I unpacked the box and saw so many pieces. Per the instruction manual, you must assemble 45 pieces of sheet metal and particle board, using 127(!) bolts and their washers and nuts. By and large, the parts fit together - I had only one or two bolts whose threads were no good - but if you have big hands like me, then you will have trouble with some tight spaces here. (Note to the manufacturer: Please include some spares. They are easy to drop and lose.) The included outlet and light are unimpressive. Jeez. 3) The assembly instructions are just OK. On the positive side, almost all of the parts are well labeled, without which this would be a near-impossible task. But, the explanations are too brief and the diagrams are too small and lacking in detail, in some places. Then, because of the way that the holes in much of the sheet metal are drilled, I guarantee that you will waste time assembling some pieces upside down and/or backwards. No kidding: It takes a while to pick up how this will go together. (Note to the manufacturer: Work on your assembly instructions, and drill the pieces so that they can be assembled only one way.) TIP: The lips on the sheet metal should face UP. And, the top shelf is indeed a shelf and not a tray. Just saved you a half hour. Would I buy this item again? Probably, because I doubt that the competition in this price range is any better. But I might decided to spend another $100 and get the right thing, instead.

Very Great Workbench Overall and Very Good Price!
I was somewhat scared to order this bench seeing so many either bad or negative comments about it including sturdiness, difficulty to assemble, and missing parts. BUT I couldn't be happier, if you want a really good, strong and big size workbench (even comes with a good light and outlet) but don't want to spend thousands or even hundreds on one this bench is solid and very good looking. Although the instructions are somewhat not 100% specific in every step they have an overall assembly picture that will answer any question that the step by step doesn't and the only thing to watch out for is what screws to use where if you do that right your golden and once together the thing is awesome, good looking and just overall a good product. I saw some people say they had issues with the drawers not closing and things of that nature..if you install them correctly you will have no issue the drawers even shut with a snug grab type system so they can't just fall open! And whatever you do please do not go by the guys review up top where he shows a video of this thing wobbling around because the instructions have you only finger tighten everything until the end to ensure everything goes together square and that guy clearly left everything finger tightened and tried to say thats how it is, I assure you ITS NOT! IT'S EXTREMELY STABLE!! Its not even physically possible for something with tightened hardware to be so wobbly!! Lights strong for its size, it has nice feet grips and when completed is very square even in an unsquare room like mine! Couldn't be happier and I would buy before the price shoots back up on this thing. Excellent Deal! Takes awhile to build by yourself maybe a few hours but not because of difficulty, just because its a pretty big workbench.

Yikes! A complete nightmare.
Extremely disappointed on every level. The package was severely damaged on all sides and partially opened, which I don’t normally take into account when reviewing a product as I assume it does not ship in that condition. However, upon opening the box, I instantly realized the flaws in the packaging and labeling. The edges of the desk panel we all broken and flaking apart, stickers which label parts were rubbed off and some were loose inside the box, leaving me to guess what many of the parts were in the instructions. Which leads me to that nightmare.. Screws, washers and bolts. SO many of them. Not labeled, stapled together in unsealed plastic sleeves. Hours of guesswork were required to build this desk. The quality of the materials used was very low. The metal supports are not truly secured, they simply rest onto each other and while building, they were constantly unhinging and falling apart. The screw and bolt segments were extremely difficult to secure in some areas, allowing little/no room for hands (if you have slightly larger than average hand size). Another thing to note is that if you build this desk in a location that is not precisely where you want it to stand upon completion, you will have an incredibly difficult time moving it - even just a few feet - as the core of the desk is not truly secured in any way as stated before. The drawers are sad. Don’t expect to use them often. They are flimsy, loose, and are easily unhinged from the tracks while building the rest of the desk. Side note while building the drawer housing - the mounting brackets were labeled incorrectly. L was on the right piece, R was on the left. I wasted over an hour wondering why the drawer would not connect, realizing the mislabeling, deconstructing it and figuring it out through trial and error. This took me approximately six hours to complete, and I’m no beginner to building furniture pieces. This was by far the worse experience I’ve had constructing something like this. The final product is no more a workbench as it is a storage table or for gentle activities like arts and crafts. Any hard object will dent and scuff the cheap “finish” on the composite wood desk top. I’m afraid to even put a glass of water on it. I’ve used amazon regularly for over 10 years and my apartment is mostly furnished by amazon items and this is the first review I’ve ever written in such extent with photos. I strongly suggest avoiding this product and spending an extra bit to get something of quality. This is not what you want.

Excellent Value for the Money
I liked the thorough and easy to follow assembly instructions, and it is very sturdy once the final tightening of the bolts has been completed. It is important to leave the bolts very loose until the entire assembly has been completed in order to be able to fit the particle board work surface which fits snugly into the completed frame. I needed a wrench to assure maximum tightness for each bolt. Having an extra person to help hold the pieces in place is recommended and be sure you have plenty of time for assembly. The light and electrical outlets are a welcome plus and I especially appreciated being able to place the outlets on either side.

Great! ..but.
Let me start by saying all-in-all, this is a great package at a great price point that checks a lot of boxes. Frankly I love it! My girlfriend and I just bought our first house and in the process of making it “ours” I decided I wanted a work bench. Since we are in a townhouse, we have a 2 car driveway but no garage, so we have a fairly large room we decided to use as a typical person would use as a garage. That said size was a big problem, finding a work bench that was compact, spacious, and with a pegboard so I didn’t have to mount one directly to the wall just in case we decided to rearrange the room. Believe it or not I had a budget 10x’s what I spent on this thing but honestly couldn’t find anything better! You get A LOT for what you pay for as long as you’re competent enough to follow the directions to put it together. I’ve read other reviews stating that it’s hard/confusing to assemble but honestly I don’t understand how..I mean I’ll make a bet my 5 year old nephew could probably put this thing together just by looking at the pictures. It’s a breeze to put together, BUT it does take A LOT of time. Especially if you’re alone. But hey, you’re paying around $100 for a solid surface to store your tools, let’s be real here. Also people say it’s not sturdy. This is also untrue and do not understand how it could be anything but sturdy the way it is designed. Sure the stamp led metal is thin and by itself is extremely flimsy, but if assembled correctly it’s quite sturdy! I plan to replace the table top with a proper hardwood table top and mount a vice. That’s how much I trust this thing. Now for the bad. One of the drawer rails on mine was bent. I didn’t know until after I fully assembled the whole thing and went to pull the drawers out to start putting things away and the whole drawer popped out entirely and fell to the floor. Sigh. Super excited and would have been PERFECT for the amount of tools I have but alas, I decided I was not about to spend the next 4 hours disassembling and repacking this thing and took out the drawers entirely. Now I’m looking for a cabinet I can mount on the bottom shelf to hold my bigger and odd sized tools. Great bench, sturdy, directions are easy to follow. Don’t let the people who don’t know what a screwdriver is scare you away from this thing.
