Mustpoint USB Charging Port Dock Connector Flex Cable Mic for ZTE ZMAX Pro Z981

Difficult to replace, but doable if very careful with tools provided.

My ZTE ZMax Pro model Z981 suddenly stopped accepting a charge, and the type C charger that sticks into the bottom of the phone would get hella hot in just seconds! After reading about this online, it sounded like the charging port needed replacing. Of course, I had just replaced the battery on this phone recently--which made me think changing the battery (with a SHENMZ 3800 mAh, which I highly recommend) may have something to do with the charge port failure. I don't know. But I again found a helpful tutorial online (a very good one at ifixit.com) and cracked the phone back open once again. It was too too difficult, and once I had it back together, it apparently fixed the problem. It's been about a month and half now, and the phone charges like it should. So I've kicked the can down the road a little further with this phone I bought in 2016! :)

If you have to twist all of your good cables to get a decent charge, this might be the culprit. I installed this replacement usb charge port a few weeks ago and it seems to be holding up fine. Installation was pretty painless. Luckily, this phone is pretty easy to work on hence why I'm on my fourth year with it.

Easy and simple to install

I purchased this Charging Port to replace my other new one that makes my calls cut out. This one fixed the call cutting out problem, but it wouldn't even charge haha. I know what I'm doing too, so its not error on my end. I have to live with the dropped calls for now. 0/5 stars if I could, it also took a long time to get here.

fixed my charging connection like a champ, felt like a nice firm connection, problem is it reduced my antenna range to the point I could use my phone at home, had to replace it with the old one. It took me a while to realize the problem but after reinstalling my old one my reception problem was fixed.
