4 Drawer Desk with Open Storage

This desk was bought several years ago for my daughter’s room for homework and has since been transformed into a vanity by adding a mirror. It is still in great condition and seems to made of good quality. Assembly was fairly easy as I did it alone while hubby was out of town. It has a clean crisp appearance and I love the extra storage on one side.

The desk arrived damaged the top front was smashed in. Particle wood is not easy to repair and I dont have time to return a desk that has been opened from original packaging. The desk was packaged nicely and there was no exterior damage to the box. Possibly packaged already damaged which speaks volumes of the maker. I built the desk myself and it took me 1 hr. The drawers are small and do not provide a lot of room for storage. It will serve its purpose as a corner desk in a small office. Over all it is a good purchase for the price but I would not recommend it.

I’ve had this for a few months now. However there were missing parts, the storage is very thin and small. Hard to put together as instructions are not clear. Hard to clean off. Drawers don’t come out all the way. Not very sturdy. Don’t recommend unless it is for a child. For the price I paid for this, this was a very disappointing purchase, not worth its price.

This is a really nice desk! It took about 3 hours to build with the help of my brother. When building it careful not to scratch the surface of the pieces because it does chip off. It’s pretty wide so I have enough leg space when I sit down. The drawers don’t hold a lot but I like that there’s 4 of them plus the little empty space at the top of them to add more things. The only setback is that the drawers don’t fully come out they open about half way. You can still put in and take out things I just like to have a drawer fully open out to look for what I need. All in all, I really like this desk for the price I paid.

I see a number of reviews complaining about parts broken or chipped or damaged when the box is opened. I really don't get it, because the unit is boxed extremely well, with foam inserts internally and reinforcing layers on the outside of the box, box straps around the box for integrity in shipping, and including robust foam bumper guards on each corner of the box on the outside. A shipper would really have to mangle the box badly to actually damage anything inside the box. I unboxed and inspected all the parts when it arrived, and they were all good, and it is not obvious at all how components in the box could be damaged unless the box itself is crushed or severely damaged. As furniture kits go, this one is boxed better than most. As for the kit itself, it is classic Danish/Swedish kit furniture design, just like IKEA kits. If you have never assembled a furniture kit like this, then you need to pay close attention to assembly instructions or you will find yourself doing some disassembly and rework. If you have experience with say, IKEA furniture kits, then you are good to go and will have little difficulty with this kit. The instructions are also classic Danish/Swedish furniture kit style as well, and easy to follow if you pay attention and take your time. Note: load bearing weight for the desk surface is rated at 55 lbs, so plenty strong as long as you do not try to climb on it (which you should never do with kit furniture like this. The drawers are rated for 7 lbs, so do not count on using the drawers for storing bricks or heavy books. For this class of kit furniture, these numbers are pretty normal.
