Very easy to assemble apart from the middle triangular 'shelf' that connects the three stool legs. Aligning each of the three fixing bolts through the legs into the slotted nut receptors in the shelf is tricky to align them correctly. You can easily miss thread the bolt end so my tip is to use a small dot of blue or white tack to keep the nut precisely aligned with the bolt as you secure it. The stool components are well made and once assembled it looks neat and is comfortable. Adjustment is easy and works well. It takes my weight (105KGS).

I’d give this 4.5 if I could. It’s a lovely stool and perfect for getting the exact height, but looses one point ( would prefer it to be half point) for it being a bit precarious to sit on unless you’ve got both feet firmly planted on the ground.

I reviewed this after I purchased it and said it was a great little stool. I sat on it the other day and went flying! The metal just sheared at the seat. Thinking about it the design is at fault. There is only about an 1.25 inch support in place around the top of the screw. Could cause a nasty accident. Avoid

I was a bit taken aback to find this stool was delivered as a DIY kit. The wood components are excellent quality being very hard and dense beechwood. However the quality of the metal fixings - oh dear! I can only assume that Meeden-Art, a large US corporation, buys its hardware from the cheapest Chinese supplier they can find. The stamped out crossheads on the screws do not conform to any known standard form. Meeden supply a cheap bent tubular steel screwdriver, whose head I would guess is Philips #1 size, which does not remotely fit the screw heads. The screw heads appear to be halfway between a #2 Pozidrive and a #3 JIS (Japanese Industry Standard). I have a very large Brownell's gunsmith's screwdriver bit set (54 pieces) and none of them fitted the screw heads properly. This is not a cheap stool and Meeden should provide appropriate fixings with it. A Pozidrive #2 bit just about fitted well enough to get the screws tight if held very firmly in the screw. I would describe this as: "Spoiling the ship for a ha'p'worth of tar".

Strong chair. Sitting at a standard table. Good height. The winding mechanism very good. Asthecticly attractive
