unclear if you really hafto use the recommended dosage or if its just market-spiel to sell more product. Mykorrhiza needs only 2+ microbes to establish a colony, i think. i used 2/3 of bag for 10 plants. product is dusty pebbles/gravel, so this is a product for soil.. idk if its any good or not, impossible to know, but i feel more confident to have a little additives. 3 stars becouse it was the cheapest mykorrhiza i could find online

After reading how brilliant Cotoneaster franchetii plants are at eating roadside pollution, I decided to buy several for my front yard and got some bare root young plants (about 10"/25cm tall) and thought I'd give this product a go. I followed the instructions by sprinkling the product into the holes I'd dug for the plants. As they were bare root plants, though, I also put a few scoops into a bowl, and swished the roots themselves all over the fungi granules, so that the roots (which I'd lightly sprayed with water) picked up the fungi powder, giving the roots a nice coating. Anyhoo... just four short weeks later, and the shrubs are absolutely thriving. I can actually see the difference, and even my wife commented on how much these plants have grown and filled out. I really can't praise this stuff highly enough... In gardening, there are heaps and heaps of gimmicky products that do little or nothing, and certainly don't fulfil their varied bold claims... but this stuff is not a gimmick, and it has way surpassed any expectations I had for it. It's simply fantastic. Very surprising indeed. I can't say if this stuff will work with all types of plants, but it definitely works on shrubs and bushes etc... It's even supposed to work on small trees... I actually read recently in a science magazine, that trees rely on a symbiotic relationship with root fungi like this, and scientists have only just realised the extent to which this relationship is needed by the tree... It was reading that article, that inspired me to try this stuff. I'll be planting a fruit tree in my back-yard soon (my apple tree was destroyed by a recent storm) and I will DEFINITELY be using this stuff very liberally in the hole and on the roots. Five stars out of five... Absolutely fantastic stuff.

UPDATE - I used this in February 2024 and writing my udpate in late September 2024 (I will leave my original review below) in summary, my plants have GONE WILD this summer. I am so happy with this product. All my plants (roses, cypress trees, japanese maple trees) where I used this product are vibrant, fragrant and growing so fast. My roses are still blooming!! A bit of an experiment for me as I didn’t use this at the time of planting. We have lots of different types of plants in a planter that’s not particularly deep. I dug a bit around each plant (carefully to avoid damaging roots), sprinkled the product on roots I could see and then covered it back with soil. I think it’s worth a try, at worst the fungi will release nutrients in the soil. I wish I’d known about this many years ago!!!

Alright to use but quite big grains, I was expecting powder, still to be seen how effective it is.

I've noticed a slight difference the growth of my plants, maybe it's too soon to say. Decent value for money, a little goes a long way considering the size of the pouch. Slightly longer visible roots on the ones I treated this with.
