Worth Every Penny – No More "Yoga Toes"!
I started my yoga journey with a Gaiam mat, and while it got me through the basics, I quickly noticed it was wearing down fast—especially during flow and balancing poses. I ended up with tiny rips on my toes (aka "yoga toes"), which was both painful and frustrating. Since switching to the Manduka eKO Lite mat, it’s been a total game-changer. The grip is incredible, the cushioning is just right, and it holds up beautifully through sweat, stretching, and daily practice. I’ve had zero issues with traction or toe damage since making the switch. The quality is obvious the moment you unroll it—and yes, the price is higher than budget mats, but it’s absolutely worth the investment for serious comfort, performance, and durability. I also pair it with the Manduka carrying strap, which makes it super easy to transport to and from classes. Highly recommend this combo to any yogi who’s ready to upgrade! 🧘♀️💪

This is my second eKO mat. I now have a travel mat and one just for the house.
The only thing I wish was that it was thicker. 4mm is thinner I have learned. That said, I am keeping it. It is an excellent mat for yoga. It provides superior grip. I know my hands are not going to slip in down dog. I already own the eKOlite travel yoga mat. I love it. It stayed in my gym bag in the car so it was always handy. It is COVID now. I took it out of my car to use in the house because my house yoga mat wasn’t nearly the same quality. I purchased this one after forgetting to put my travel one in the car when I went away. There were no brick and mortar stores that had a yoga mat. I tried using a towel to do yoga while away. It didn’t work well at all. I wanted another eKOlite mat because my travel mat is 2 years old and is still in great shape and the stickiness works like the first day I used it I do clean it but not nearly as much as I should. I also chose the eKOlite because it is eco friendly, made from biodegradable non-Amazon harvested natural tree rubber. Another factor in choosing is the length. I am 5’7 and the 68 inch mats work well enough but I wanted something a little longer. The 3 inches of what this provides is exactly what I needed. I also chose this because of its superior grip. It does have a natural rubber scent when first used. I remember this with my first one. It did last a bit of time for the odor to go away. It does go away though. The 4 mm thickness is dense. It is not soft. I was concerned about this with my knees at first. I laid out Another more plush yoga mat next to this one and alternated between the two to see the difference. What I realized was my knee sank to the floor on the plush one not really providing me with much padding anyhow. The eKO mat is very stable under me. It feels the same no matter what pose I am in.

My rubber roots (
This is a great mat. Manduka is always highly recommended. And I really love that this one is biodegradable, and won’t give me some weird thyroid disease or something lol. That said, DO NOT leave it in the sun. I roll mine inside-out to protect the natural rubber from the elements. After practicing twice daily on it for two months, I’ve bonded with my mat. It’s stable and an amazing cushion. My *only* virgo critique, is that maybe it’s TOO sticky. Makes it very difficult to drag your feet, if you need to. The stickiness holds a towel very well though. I carry it in a sling as I walk to the shala, very portable. Comfortable for sitting long periods. To wash, i use i tiny bit of acv, one or two drops of tea tree, diluted in water in a spray bottle. Then i wet a rag with water and scrub. Hang dry (out of the sunlight!!!!!!!). Don’t use too much oils on it, beware! The design is fun and cute, though not busy. Classy. Be like water, my friends!

Comes with a strong smell, but great mat
I have used it for three hot power yoga classes and so far I really like the grip and support. However, just know it comes with a really strong chemical rubbery smell that I haven't been able to get rid of. I feel bad in class for the people around me, it's that strong! Happy with the mat itself though and hope the smell dissipates soon.

Take your practice to the next level and get eco-friendly about it!
I've been practicing yoga for 10+ years off and on and will be doing yoga study soon so I wanted to invest in a really good mat that was eco-friendly. Pros: -Nonslip! Got sweaty hands and feet even just sitting in class before it starts? Get this mat! I'm the sweatiest person I know, and this is definitely a lifesaver for those downward facing dogs. -If you sweat, this color won't show it. Plus, it is somewhat waterproof. My sweat drops go splat and pool up so I wipe those in between my practice, but there is some moisture still on the mat. Still, significant upgrade from my other mats. -Eco-friendly!! I tried to throw away my old mats, but my garbage company wouldn't take them. Upon doing some research, it turns out that many, many yoga mats are not recyclable. As I try to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle, this has definitely become a friend in my practice. Cons: -It does smell...I mean, it is rubber, right? Here's a tip. Don't touch your face right away when showering because you will taste/smell strong rubber. I just wash my hands now before I hop in the shower. -I wish there were more designs to select from for this brand and price range. I'd especially love a mat with lines as I continue to get my footing right.

This yoga mat LITERALLY stinks
I don't write reviews, but my experience needs to be shared. I purchased this mat as an upgrade. I can't begin to describe how awful it smells. Of course, that's not unusual for new products, but the smell usually fades after a few days or weeks. This one didn't. I aired it for hours and washed it multiple times, all to no avail. I contacted the company, because I wanted to give it a chance, it was now out of the 30 day return window. So, they offered me a 15% of coupon for their $18 mat restorer. Talk about throwing good money after bad. I can't believe how disappointing Manduka has been given the cost of their product and their customer service is even worse. Not recommended!

yoga
Grips amazingly, it slips a little after cleaning it. Be sure to read cleaning instructions. They're heavier material but plant derived and an amazing upgrade from my generic yoga mat I've held onto for years. Thank you Manduka! Many Blessings
