No, you have to yank the bristles out before putting in the compost.

Are the bristles phthalate free?

The bristles fall out in your kids mouth! These tooth brushes suck!!!!! NEVER AGAIN

What type of glue is used to make these? Is it gluten based? (yes it's a thing)

I have no idea, but these toothbrushes suck! I had to throw them away! My three YO was brushing his teeth the he started saying help dad help. I looked in his mouth and he had plastic bristles throughout. Buyer beware! We are using the Colgate kids ones now! They are awesome.

How should these toothbrushes be stored? Mine keep getting tiny spots of mold.

I am Not so sure , but I believe you need to leave in a open place and the place should be ventilated , our is going to almost 2 months amd no mold , we leave the bathroom door open all the time , and store in a open cup
