If I want to use a hot iron the the "in style" type natural looking curls, what is the best type of iron (and size)?

Not sure how to answer this. If you're referring to long casual hair worn by a lot of people these days a larger barrel iron would probably give better results. An iron that has a 3/4" barrel will make tight curls not loose flowing curls and is probably best for short hair. I have several Revlon hair tools and have had no problem with them.

The diameter given in the product description will be correct. I have three Revlon curling irons (1/2", 3/4", and 1") and each is exactly as described.
