Alice's Nightmare in Wonderland Colouring Book [Green, Jonathan, Crossley, Kev] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Alice's Nightmare in Wonderland Colouring Book Review: Great coloring book for those of you who don’t like to shade! - First, I am an ‘adult colorer’ that, until recently, haven’t had much experience coloring since grade school and with just crayola crayons/markers. Second, the paper is quite thin. I wouldn’t suggest using markers or watercolors if you plan to color both sides of each page. I have been using Prismacolor colored pencils. This isn’t a coloring book for everyone. I, very much, enjoyed the darker aspects of the artwork and small storyline. I’m a novice when it comes to understanding light sources and shading so having the guess work taken out for me was great! This allowed me to have depth in my coloring that I am not able to have regularly. There were some areas that were harder to color due to the pre-filled shading but that’s not a deal breaker for me. Overall, I have really enjoyed coloring this book. Review: Fun - Not for children

Its not a book of sunshine and rainbows if thats what you're looking for.
This IS a coloring book, albeit, a dark and gritty one. Not for everyone, but my younger sister loved it. If you dont like dark this isnt for you, but if you have an appreciation for unique artwork then you should give this a shot. I was gonna make photocopies of some of the pictures in here to keep for myself, but forgot so i guess i'll have to buy it again someday.

Great illustrations, but black blocks some color.
Great as a coloring book. This is not complete story, but contains brief quotes on one page opposite an illustration. The one disappointment is that the illustrations are drawn as complete pencil drawings. Thus, the blood is shaded black. Coloring it red would require a paint pen or something with opaque ink. Crayon, marker, etc. doesn't make black red. Overall, though- very pleased with the book.

It's ok.
The art is really cool and the concept is fun too but there's a few flaws. I'm fine with all the shading. To me, the extra shading makes the pages more interesting and actually easier and faster to finish because I don't have to spend time creating shadows like I do with most other coloring books. But! The paper is way too thin. I doubt I would trust using markers on these pages, they would probably soak the paper too much and cause damage and it'll definitely bleed through. The story within the book doesn't really make sense. It feels like there should have been double the pages that never made it. One page of the story doesn't really align with the next. It's odd. Also I was expecting a lot more pages with Alice. There's really only a couple. There's actually not many pages in this book for what you pay for. Most coloring books come with 3x the pages for the same price but I really loved the concept. So between the poor storyline, the thinness of the paper, the lack of total pages and Alice missing through most of it, I can't give it the greatest review. So I'm giving it an "ok" review with an "ok" amount of stars.

Unique and enjoyable
I saw a lot of complaints about the quality and sketchiness of the pictures but I decided to try anyway, I love the idea of a horror styled coloring book. It's very unique! The shading of the pictures really adds depth to the finished picture, and the story style is fun. I'm very happy with it, though I do wish there was more pages to color, and perhaps a bit thicker paper. I did my first coloring with marker, but I think colored pencil (soft cored) might work out a bit better. There was quite a bit of bleed through with marker... again due to the thin paper. All in all, I would suggest this book to anyone looking for a different and unique coloring experience, I love it!

Love these nightmarish illustrations!
The pages are a bit thin & the illustrations a bit dark- but -I am having no problems with either! I put a piece of cardboard underneath the page I'm coloring so there are no pressure marks. I'm using pencils, so there's no bleed through. As for the darkness of the illustrations, this is a nightmare story, so it'd be weird if it was light & bright. I've only colored a few so far, but you be the judge. Personally I think they're coming out great!

Beautiful and Gory - Not suitable for Watercolor Markers
Love this coloring book! The illustrations are beautifully creepy. I prefer to color with watercolor markers. Unfortunately, the paper is very thin (think a slight step up from newspaper) so it is best to use crayons or color pencils. I decided to purchase some crayons (cheaper than colored pencils) so that I can get some use from this coloring book. It is so cool, I didn't want to return it even though I couldn't use it with my professional watercolor markers.

Odd colouring book as most pages are shades of grey. I did read this in other reviews, but it was a request fir Christmas. So i ordered it. Looks like more of a story book then a colouring book.

J ai acheter se livre en cadeau, il est très beau mais je ne pense pas qu il finira comme livre de coloriage. Il est original et si vous comprennais l anglais, il y a une petit histoire mais les pages n ont pas l air prévu pour être colorier, dommage

The designs are superb, its the paper that lets this amazing book down. Its thinner than my photo copier paper and ruins a damn fine colouring book. Sad to think great designers and illustrators have their work displayed so shabbily.
