Outstanding
I ordered these through amazon and selected the free 3-day shipping option and got them the day after ordering them, which was what originally put me in a great mood. then i set these bad boys up and i was blown away by the quality and ease of set up, now, i consider myself to be something of a music buff, mainly in classic rock and jazz, but i do not have much experience with surround sound speakers except a couple sets around my house, but let me tell you, for the price, these speakers are amazing. crisp highs, clear lows, and amazing mids. the only problem that i have, which i think has to do with the frequency of the highs, is that when the music is turned down really low, the left speaker is hard to hear but this is when it is so low that u would only be able to hear the other speakers if you were sitting right next to him so it doesnt pose a problem. i would absolutely recomend this to someone with a relatively small budget.

Awesome Satellite Speakers, OK Subwoofer, Great Overall Setup
Great clarity and volume coming from the speakers and even at high volume distortion isn't really a problem until you reach perhaps 75% into max volume (which is too loud for a regular sized room anyways) but that's typical of speakers in this price range. Overall the satellites are very good units and I was very impressed. The subwoofer unfortunately, is only slightly a let down. It really is not powered enough to keep up with the speakers unless the entire setup volume is cranked up. The remote with headphone out and volume control is really convenient as well. For my taste I wanted a little more bass relative to the speakers but if you're looking for a more laid back setup with great clarity and decent support for lows I would highly recommend.

Budget Speakers
Here's the good and the bad. First -the good. These speakers have pretty decent sound quality for a budget desktop 2.1 system. Clear mids, decent highs and decent bass. Look nice and are very compact. Now the bad. Hope I never have any problem with these. Edifier has the ABSOLUTE worst support I have ever experienced. They provide a (604) area code phone number that doesn't announce the company. Left several messages which have gone unanswered, Never able to get a human being. So if you need any help setting up speakers or have any problems--- you are dead in the water. Bottom line NO support for a decent product. Just hope you never need to contact Edifier. They provide a two year warranty- USELESS if you can't reach them!

Edifer Multimedia Speakers
Very pleased, high quality sound at a very good price. Installed on a desktop computer, the installation could not have been easier. Primarily used for video gaming and MP3 listening. The wired remote with mute button is very convenient for volume control and when answering the phone or responding to other family members (significant other). Overall, not a "Bose", but very good at an excellent price. Highly recommended.

Completely defective
These make a clicking/ticking noise that's quite loud and really annoying. It is present whether the volume is up or down, and the mute button makes no difference. I honestly have zero time to box these back up and attempt a return. So I deal with it, and it annoys me EVERY DAY. Besides this problem, the sound quality is not terrible, but it's definitely not good. The bass response is enough to be an improvement over laptop speakers, but anyone who appreciates audio will be disappointed. The logitech systems for 3 times as much sound 10 times better. I'd go for something higher quality.

Good Sound, But Some Disappointments
My rating is 2.5 stars (defaults to 2 stars). I am not an audiophile, but have a decent ear and desire for good sound. My comments are based on use with a PC and in comparison with a similar logitech set that I previously owned. So, here are my thoughts:Sound: Overall the sound from the speaker system is very good. One note: there is almost no base from the subwoofer unless its base dial is set to max. - this makes the dial useless. The base at maximum setting sounds fine in most cases; but weak at times.Looks: No complaints here - the system looks great.Major annoyances:1. The remote volume controller is hard-wired (instead of plug) into the subwoofer. This is a bad design and makes it hard or impossible to route the controller through tight desk clearances or grommets during installation.2. The volume dial on the controller has a notch that indicates its level. This notch is not painted with a white or contrasting color. So reading volume level is difficult on many occasions.3. Headphone volume control: For those who occasionally use a headphone, plugged into the controller, for private listening, volume control is frustrating. This is another bad design: plug headphone into controller - however, the controller cannot be used to control the headphone's volume. You will have to use volume slider on the computer for the program running or the OS.Overall, I am not adequately satisfied with use of this speaker system to recommend.

I love designing speakers for home and instrument use
I am an audiophile: I love designing speakers for home and instrument use. I bought this for my bedroom TV, best $50 I've ever spent on just about anything. You will need a 3.5mm female to RCA plug converter, and the volume control is manual. If you can handle those two things what this will do for really any stand alone TV with Blu-ray/DVD/ Cable set up. Is just amazing for the price. Yes there is always bigger and better, but this does big things in small spaces. Edifier makes some very nice studio monitors and much bigger more powerful home audio products; for large rooms and people that have to wake the neighbors. But if you want much better sound for a very reasonable price. This system is awesome .

Blew me away!
Wow. The sound on these is just amazing. Far exceeded my expectations for what I paid ($49.99 with free shipping). First off, they are about twice the size I was expecting - that's fine by me. Secondly, I read many reviews from other buyers of these speakers, and I saw a lot of complaints... so I Googled the manufactuer, and I got a good feeling about what I read, so I took the leap. Like the subject line says - these just blew me away. I have mine set up with the subwoofer under my desk, so that it basically uses the desk as an extended "sound baffle" - which is exactly what I had planned and hoped. There is an adjustable knob on the subwoofer - which, by the way is on the right-side of the cabinet and NOT on the back, much more convenient - that i first turned all the way up to maximum and then turned it back to about 75%. This is perfect for me, as it means the 2 satellite speakers put out a bit more of the higher range (basically, the tweeters) for a crisper sound, and a little less boominess. The bass! Wow. Very deep, again, for what i paid, I was not expecting such good quality. The volume/mute control is very convenient as well. The satellites are on a slight upward angle, which helps disperse the sound better. I went to YouTube and played several videos for songs I know have some bass to them - and these 2.1 speakers do NOT disappoint. They do NOT sound cheap. I will point out, this works for my setup - with my baffle being my desk - so the sound may differ for someone who, say, puts the subwoofer on top of a table or in the middle of a wall, with no baffle. I wanted something not too pricey, that sounded decent, with adjustable bass (so i don't disturb the neighbors beneath me in the apartment complex), and I am so happy I took a leap of faith and purchased these. You should, too! By the way, give yourself 15-20 minutes to hook these up - and be patient! The end result will be worth the effort to set everything up properly for what works for you. I love music and I wanted to buy something a little nicer speaker-wise as an upgrade to my $20 USB-power speakers so I could enjoy music a little more while I work in my home office. Would and will definitely recommend to others!

Better than my Logitech Z313 - Great for the price
The controller on my Logitech Z313 died. I got this as a replacement, as I wanted to stay with a 2.1 system. I was surprised at how much more clarity and highs this has compared to the Z313. It's not overly bright, but it still sounds slightly scooped. However I've had speakers that sounded much more scooped than these. The bass control is great to have and something I wish the Z313 had. I have the bass rolled back, because the speakers are too boomy when the bass is at full. It would be nice if there was a control for the highs as well, so that the mids could be balanced relative to both the highs and the bass. But overall I'm happy for music, talk shows, gaming, etc.Another thing to note is that the controller dial scratches very easily and looks pretty bad after not too long. But that's an aesthetic thing, not a functional thing, so I can live with it.

A very portable speaker set.......and good
This is a very good little speaker for the tablet ( or the main computer) and can be moved around with small effort and be where the tablet is. It can be setup simply. The connections are fool-proof. A wall plug is required, unusual for mulimedia speakers. I use the tablet with a Plex server as a remote devise. The sound is remarkably good with Apple lossless.Encouraged I have ordered another set.
