Not only is this a great little compass but the company is awesome. I lived the little personalized note that comes with it. It works great and adjusted smoothly and stays where it's set. It feels strong and durable in your hand and the pivot point tip is sharp and stays in place. Only down side us mine came without the locking nut on the little screw that holds pencil holder in the frame. At first, I wasn't concerned about it, but I emailed the company anyway, they returned my email promptly and never questioned my claim and sent me not only one locking nut but 3 sets of nuts and screws. Would definitely recommend

big enough opening to put a mechanical pencil,that way the lines stay a constant diameter and the pencil does not get dull

Good for the price. Not engineering quality and I don’t think it will last a lifetime. That said it has the ability to exchange a pencil for a pen and is very capable of making good circle. It holds true while drawing and seems sturdy and dependable

Well made, feels sturdy, has a bit of weight to it. The radius adjustment stays put and only moves when you want it too with the thumb wheel. Some other compasses will move if you squeeze it together or even bump it.The ability to put a larger diameter pen or pencil is what I was mainly looking for. It also holds very steady despite having a large hole for it.

This compass is fantastic!!!It allows for other writing instruments to be used (ink pen/thin tube markers).A must have for the artist!!!

(updated) Impressed with the company, it not the product. At first I loved the compass, and the main structure of it is still perfect. Bought in December, in May it stopped being useable. I had fairly limited usage and stored it in the box when it was not in use. And yet, the solid metal parts are amazing and perfect, but the part that holds the pencil is a plastic screw in a plastic sheath and that no longer can be tightened thanks to the plactic giving out and not holding tight so the pen/pencil will just slide out at random times, which changes the diameter of the circle and makes it utterly useless. If I tighten it more, the screw pops over the threads.I reached out to Mr. Pen and then immediately refunded my order. AND I had also left a 1 star review - which they promptly responded to with an apology and a direct message offering me a refund. so now I'm taking the average. 5 star company, but not sure this compass is a five star product. I ordered the same one again after the refund because it has all teh features I want, except perhaps durability. Time will tell on round 2.

This compass is the BEST!I bought it because it has a wide pen holder. I do a lot of doodling & sometimes want to do circles that are nice and straight. My hand wobbles if I try to draw pen over the top of the pencil line. So it totally makes sense to do the circles in pen to start with. Then there is a lovely inked circle.

Bought this as a cheap way of cutting circles in paper/card/thin polystyrene insulation board for model making. I looked at various circle cutters on Amazon and they all seemed to have mixed reviews. I decided to try a different route and bought this compass as it can be fixed to a measurement. When I want to cut circles I replace the pencil in the holder with a craft knife at the correct angle and use it to cut material around at the diameter I need. It works quite well and represents good value compared to designated circle cutters which seemed to have drawbacks and issues that put me off buying one.
