Good camping food.
Just used for first time. Was dinner after 14 mile paddling day trip. Was hungry going in. Pro: light weight, stupid easy to prepare, cooks in its pouch, pouch is spotless when empty, great flavor, good looking meal. Cons: need to be precise with measured water amount (did not bring measuring cup), product had a little chew in pasta but tolerable, portion was slightly less than I needed, purposely did not eat anything more for 10 minutes, was still hungry had additional food (apple and piece of chocolate [ok half a bar of chocolate]). So for portions have something else to supplement and fine. Fair amount of sodium but no issue due to heavy workout from day of paddling. Overall: will continue to use, great meal when tired from hard day of paddling. Flavor top notch and food look quality was excellent. They just need slightly larger portions. BTW two portion containers were for two paddlers. Both paddlers needed a little more for dinner.

Delicious and heats perfectly
Love these! Itโs one of my favorite backpacking meals. I wasnโt sure about these but a friend swears by them so I tried a bag and was hooked. Iโve gotten this 6 pack a few times now. Recommend! Lots of flavor, never crunchy because it heats up well and is creamy goodness

A decent entree for home or out exploring
There are lots of civilian MREs and frozen entrees available, but few are healthy, practical, or good tasting. The Mountain House Beef Stroganoff is a decent choice. First, it's freeze dried, so it will store well for years, without refrigeration. Second, it comes in a rectangular pouch that serves as the cooking pot. You just boil some water, pour it into the pouch, and it rehydrates within a few minutes. There's Just the pouch to dispose of, not a big pile of planet-polluting plastic. You can eat it out of the pouch if you want, once it's heated. Let's face it: you can't expect gourmet food out of a pouch that's been lying around in the car trunk for years. But it's got very acceptable flavor and texture. IMHO it's one of the best of the entrees out there, at an acceptable price. All you need is a cup of boiling water and a spork.

Good for kayak camping
Not bad, im a bit picky about mushrooms but other that that, pretty good. If i had one complaint about these, its that the package is bit bulky, but over all worth the space and super convenient. A few of these meals with a little rocket stove, coleman pot and a sawyer mini tossed in a dry bag... and im pretty much set for a good weekend of kayak camping.

Another winner
You really can't go wrong with Mountain House food. I also haven't met a beef stroganoff I didn't like, and this did not disappoint. I could pack only this meal for two weeks and never get tired. Make sure you have a long handled spoon or fork to eat out of the bag. It can be messy, but the taste is worth it.

I keep emergency food
Emergency food that will not come close to expiration date. I usually eat these from time to time. I am lazy and I eat these for dinner when I am too tired to cook. The beef stroganoff is one one the best.
