Very good fit for Honda Pilot
I only needed one of the plastic frames, as the Honda Pilots factory radio is LARGER than 2 DIN, so you will have a gap if you install a standard 2 DIN stereo. The frames help fill in the gap. For me the original mounting plate worked on my new unit.

works, fits well
For 2005 Honda Pilot put in a new navi system (double DIN) to replace original stock system. This kit with the two side brackets and front trim piece worked great. You will also need a plug to mate up the plug from the car to the wires from your new system, also available on Amazon. The side brackets are plastic, original were metal, but they seem to work OK. Directions that are included are good but if you want more info and people's hand on experiences do a google search for something like Honda Pilot double din install and you will get linked to some very useful info. If you are putting in a navigation system as I did be very careful that your satellite receiver that mounts outside of the car has enough cord to get all the way to the head unit. Mine had something like 16 feet but the Pilot is a long SUV and by the time that wire winds all the way from the back on the roof to the head unit you use alot of that length. I had to change the routing to make it work. Other than that test fit your new unit before tightening up these brackets to the side of the unit since the way it sits in the Pilot dash is at kind of an angle and if you get that wrong the trim piece does not really cover the gaps around the new unit properly.

perfect fit
100% needed on 03 pilot, top has a gap but everywhere else is tight. Locks in easily but is plastic but seems tough enough. Update: if you actually read the instructions and follow them, you'll get a perfect fit, I used the wrong brackets that were very similar.

As advertised
2008 Pilot - install kit mounts flush with dash and looks great. (2008 Pilot)

but now the unit looks like it came stock
Bought this along with NAVISKAUTO 7" C0250. The trim did not fit at all. I had to us a razor blade and a combination of files to cut it down to something that would work. It was very time consuming, but now the unit looks like it came stock. Don't buy my combination unless you have tools to modify.

Works Great on an '05 Pilot
I bought this dash kit for my 2005 Honda Pilot when I upgraded the OEM stereo to a JVC HDR-720. The kit comes with instructions (though the instructions on dash trim removal could be a bit more specific and helpful). I recommend fully reading the instructions. As a guy, I thought I could figure it out by intuition. The instructions specifically tell the installer to snap the approprate face plate (the Metra kit has face plates for both the LX and EX models of Pilot) to each of the side panels before screwing the side panels on the stereo. I didn't read those instructions and instead screwed the side plates on to the new stereo, then tried--unsuccessfully--to snap on the face plate afterwards. When I realized my mistake, I had to unscrew both side plates to correct the mistake. Once I did, though, the dash kit went together like a champ. Highly recommend this kit--I'd buy it again if I had another Pilot to upgrade.

Sony XAV-AX100 install
This worked good to install a Sony XAV-AX100 stereo into a 2003 Honda Pilot. It have with both adaptors to fit either the EX or the LX. Install was simple and worked great. Only complaint is that it sits out about a 1/16 of an inch from the car trim on the bottom. Given that the bottom bracket attaches at an angle I see no way no adjust it in. Overall it fits and looks professional though.

Perfect fit for 2003 Honda Pilot EX w/o navagation
This kit worked perfect for my 2003 Honda Pilot EX w/o the navagation. It comes with 2 sets of the side brackets that attach to the side of the new head unit. One set put the head unit too low in the opening, but the other set made it fit perfect. I tried to compare the two sets and they sure seem the same, but if you install and the head unit is too low or high in the opening try the other set.
