The funnest game of the Year!
Just Cause 3 is extremely ambitious more then J.C. II After the game dropped every internet nerd (attacked this title for minor flaws) The thing people should realize the map is massive (This might be the biggest Sand box title to date) These same gaming fanboys were quick to attack the title (None of this people have ever put out a Triple A game but, they know what's going on really?) I find it insulting how anyone can read up on specs and silly stuff then throwing out facts like they have developed games I got the title a week after the release date (There was a good size update when i installed the game on the hard drive) I've already put at least 10 hours into J.C. III had only one crash/freeze during a time when there was no real action going on (strange) I still think this is the Crack Down 3 killer This is a massive game changer Avalanche Studios has arrived between Mad Max and now Just Cause III This studio has major talent that try there best and put so much detail into there titles it's crazy The Game play is over the top insanity almost everything is destructible the psychics is really good The gun play once again (much like in Just Cause II) is average don't expected Max Payne style gun play but, when you can use a hook to tether things to each other it adds so much real limitless possibilities This is your world you do what you want! it's just over the top fun! The Controls are streamlined for the upgraded XBOne controller Once you get into the grove the controls become second nature (Keep in mind you have to spend at least a hour playing the game to fully understand how the controls are vertical at first they might seem strange but, the more time you play it You'll grasp it completely The driving feels smooth and logical (much like in Mad Max) the flying is hit and miss flying helicopters is super fun and easy the planes on the other hand are rough and will take a lot of time to learn The wing suit is a cool idea but, you have to upgrade gears to get it the proper way all the mini game missions serve a purpose to gain gears =upgrade everything The grinding has a purpose and you get all kinds of cool payoffs very quick You will have to dump at least 80+ hours into this title if you wanna get a 100% and collect all the extras There's also a homage to Sleeping Dogs where Rico comes across these statues with a candle in the center you light the candle There is also a laundry list of Easter eggs throughout the game One being in the village of Vico Platessa after you liberated the village you go to the right side of the flag and there is a small gun laying on top of some rubble Once you pick it up your get a inflated head and the DK pistol It doesn't kill with four shots you inflated heads of people and animals there heads are now like helium balloons mix that with your tether and you can create are sorts of chaos! The Story: is above average (You don't play Just Cause for Bioshock story telling) but, it seems to be a interesting story so far! I always loved the idea behind Just Cause where the story is about liberating oppressed people and fighting a corrupt establishment This idea/concept has never once been done properly with the COD games The biggest negative about this game is the loading The loading is horrible and will make you wanna pull out your hair or cut yourself (take your pick) Hopefully this gets some type of patch to help it along If the loading wasn't so bad this game would get a perfect 10 but, since the loading stinks This can be forgiven since this game is so insane and just so fun It's a digital version of crack once you have a taste you'll be hooked 9.2/10 This is a stunning game that lives up to all the hype My Microsoft gaming tag is: Duckman 1979 (Since God forbid you praise and enjoy a game that's not COD, Halo, Battlefield) That means you're on the take and getting a little payola for talking it up! The gaming industry really needs a new shinny crash to end all the pure non sense going on due to fanboys and the real shills

A million ways to die
Several years ago, I wanted to play Just Cause 2; but I never got around to it. When I heard about Just Cause 3, I wasn't going to allow another Just Cause game to get away from me, so I played it as soon as I had an open spot in my gaming schedule. Little did I know; I would spend the next three months playing it! [Combat] At its core, Just Cause 3 is a third-person shooter. However, if you find yourself in close quarters with an enemy or two, you can perform a little shoulder charge to get you out of trouble. Depending on the enemy; you'll either kill him or temporarily stun him. It's very simplistic, but I enjoyed doing it. The combat can get hot and heavy in a matter of seconds, which can lead to a lot of deaths; if you're not careful. In most of the third-person games I've played; you're able to take cover behind objects when the going gets tough; but not in Just Cause 3. There's no such thing as "taking cover", and you're strongly encouraged to run out in the middle of the fray, which is right up my alley. If you need to regenerate your health, your best bet would be simply running away or using your grappling hook to quickly leave the scene and your health will replenish on its own. I can't begin to tell you how many different ways I've died! If you can think of it, it's probably happened to me. I've died from grenades, bombs, guns, rocket launchers, melee attacks, getting run over by vehicles, drowning, falling, helicopter missile guns, etc -- And that's just to name a few ;) [Weaponry] Regarding weapons; Just Cause 3 is everything a game like Uncharted 4 isn't. You have a TON to choose from; for starters. I'm not necessarily a 'gun guy'; so I'll refrain from naming each and every one. There are three main weapons at your immediate disposal -- A two handed gun, dual guns, and a special weapon. My two handed weapon of choice was the Ump; the dual weapon I chose were some type of machine guns, while my 'special' weapon was a rocket launcher (Capstone Hydra) that fired several rockets at once! Yes, it's as cool as it sounds. There's one more weapon I saved for last. My favorite, by far; are the C4 explosives! First of all; you can never run out of them. Secondly; there's nothing quite like planting a few explosives on a massive fuel tank and watching it blow to smithereens! In a game like Just Cause 3; it probably goes without saying you'll be able to use just about anything as a weapon, if you get sick of your traditional weapons. For example; you can take flight in a chopper and make use of its mini guns and missile launcher. Or, feel free to be creative and use your grappler as a weapon. [Enemies] As to be expected with a game like this; enemies are probably the only weak point. You'll have your run-of-the-mill military personnel, and that's about it. Believe me when I tell you the lack of enemy variety doesn't make the game any less fun. Heck, I've taken down more military bases and settlements than I can count; and not once, did I get bored of it, regardless of the 'meh' enemies. It's important to note that you'll be attacked from land, air, and sea. If you're lucky; you'll have to deal with all three at once :) There's just one boss battle, and to be honest; it wasn't too bad. [Miscellaneous] There are quite a few things to hunt down and collect; to scratch that 'exploration itch' in all of us. I really wish Just Cause 3 kept track of how many hours I spent playing because I'm thinking the number of hours I logged is north of 100. There are more sidemissions and mini games than I was able to keep track of; so you'll have plenty to do in between missions. Just Cause 3 is a beautiful open world game with a massive map that offers plenty to do. It exceeded my expectations and kept me busy for hours. In my opinion, it's a vastly underrated game that deserves to be given a chance. Rise of the Tomb Raider; you're up next!

Sandbox action mayhem
For fans of the series they understand what this game is about. Most of the critics and people who aren't familiar with JC don't get it, and that's fine. As for this being a sequel to JC2, I think it's easy to see why a lot are disappointed with it. Yes the controls aren't always the best, yes there are some technical issues. Yes the missions are repetitive, but the overall package is still a good bit of fun. They took out a lot of stuff from the last game, but they've also switched up things and added things too. The map is not as varied and depending on what you like maybe not as good. I couldn't care less about the story, it's as ridiculous as it's always been. The game is huge and incredibly fun. If you like messing around in a huge sandbox and messing with physics and all kinds of vehicles and guns, then this is great. If you want an open world that is presented to you and you want to do a lot of exploration etc. then this probably won't be what you're looking for. There is stuff to do in the world of course, there are challenges, collectibles, bases to conquer- but you won't be going into buildings and doing in depth side quests, it's not that kind of game. One thing I don't really like is how Rico is like Italian now. I thought Rico was supposed to be Latino as in Latin American, South American. But now it's like set in Italy/Greece and he's Italian, I don't get it. And I don't really like it but it's not a game breaker. I could easily take off a few stars if I was being childish about my negatives and nitpicks but the game is huge and fun and sometimes that's all it takes. It's a good game to just mess around with for awhile and not have to worry about a story or anything of that sort. One thing people don't get about the world in JC is that it's not meant to be packed with things to do and explore. The world is there as a backdrop and a place for you to play around in. If you want an open world game with exploration and lore then play an Elder Scrolls game. That's not what the open world in JC is for. In terms of fun factor this is a 5 star game. I hope the next JC game makes Rico South American again and it's set in a huge varied world like JC2, I just don't care for the whole Italian thing as much. And give us more control over Rico please. Let us crouch, sneak, take cover, sprint, do crazy action moves. It would make a huge difference.

A tongue-in-cheek first-person shooter, with an emphasis on blowing things up
Other reviewers are right: the dialogue and characters are very over the top, and the dialogue is full of tropes. To that I say: "So what?". James Bond movies are full of tropes and cliches, and people still pay good money to see them. This is a great first-person shooter with an emphasis on blowing things up. (Seriously, you need to destroy a minimum number of fuel tanks, generators, etc and generally wreak havoc in order to liberate settlements.) The game has all the hallmarks of your typical action movie: invincible hero, Machiavellian super-villain, loudmouth Texan CIA agent, wise-guy sidekick, socially inept yet brilliant scientist, deep-voiced North African mercenary, and unnecessarily-flirty blonde smuggler. However, it works because the game is fully aware of all the cliches, and embraces them. At one point, a character remarks to the hero that he should be more grateful for having a seemingly-impossible infinite parachute. The main character quips "Shocking!" when he destroys electrical equipment, "There appears to be a service outage" when he destroys communication equipment, and "I should probably get down now" when the aircraft he's in is about to explode. The game is full of pop-culture references, quoting everything from Futurama to Douglas Adams. Overall, the graphics are pretty good, although it's occasionally frustrating that the distant views appear to be pre-rendered. If you a destroy a military installation, and then look at it from a long way away, it will appear to be back in its original condition, and will only become destroyed when you get closer. The AI is pretty good -- NPCs can drive the vehicle you're in and follow it to a waypoint. There are definitely some glitches: if you liberate a military base from a helicopter after having destroyed a SAM, the SAM will respawn briefly before it becomes a friendly SAM, and will target you. Which kind of sucks. Also, the voice dialogue from the Australian mercenaries gets a bit tiresome -- I don't need to hear "Target is using a grappling device" 500 times a day. But overall, a lot of fun, and a great stress reliever. If I'd paid $60 for it, I might have had higher standards, but now that it's been out for a while, it's cheap enough that it's a no-brainer.

Play Like a Flying Honey Badger
A few big tips for the unitiated complainers. Just Cause 3 is about vertical, over-the-top destruction. Rico is a flying honey badger: - Rico don't crouch. He's Chuck Norris, wading directly into harms way. A few bullets wont faze him. - Rico don't do stealth. That's for sissies. Go play MGS if you want stealth. Rico goes BOOM. - Rico don't sprint. He has a freaking GRAPPLING hook! Seriously...grapple, wingsuit, parachute...GET OFF the GROUND! In short, if you're spending more than a couple of seconds on the ground, and you're not in a vehicle, YOU'RE PLAYING IT WRONG! Play like a flying honey badger, my friend. Then you'll love this game as I do. Now, some details: I believe Just Cause 2 is one of the best games ever made. Period. Top 3 all time at least. Also, I am massive fan of open world games. With that as the backdrop, I can say that 1) Just Cause 2 is slightly better than Just Cause 3 BUT 2) Just Cause 3 is still one of the best games of this year. First, why Just Cause 2 is better: -Soundtrack (JC3 is more subdued...oddly reminiscent of Lord of the Rings. A strange choice for an over-the-top action jaunt.) -Voice acting (Rico's JC3 suave Italian is a letdown from JC2's macho Spanish, and others don't grab your attention) -Script (who cares? Lets blow stuff up! Also, the jokes aren't as funny) -Variety (JC2 map had more diversity, the 3 factions kept thing interesting) -Combat (why did they remove the melee whip?) -Let gameplay interruption/faster load times JC3 does make a number of noticeable improvements however. -Finding Chaos items is greatly improved. -Wingsuit. 'Nuff said. -Diversity in installations and cities is far better. -Vehicle handling is better...slightly. -Attaching mods to challenges make the challenges more interesting and compelling. -The speed of receiving supply drops is a nice change. -World map is much, much larger. Probably the best in NOTE: Thankfully, the most recent patch fixes the loading issues on the Xbox One. You can now ignore any XB1 reviews that reference this issue. UPDATE: I removed the reference to JC2 having a larger-feeling map. Now that I'm 10+ hours into the game, I can safely say the JC3 map is ridiculously huge. It feels endless. Love it!

An explosive addition to the Just Cause series
From initial installation, when you are giving the option "ready to start" at about 50% of the way through install, you can choose to play the micro sandbox version of the game call "Boom Island." While you are waiting for the game to complete it's installation, you have limited access to weapons and vehicles to use at your disposal as a teaser to get you to feel how the game mechanics work and to get a glimpse of some of the wonderful explosions and sling-shotting object or goats....yes...goats :) When the game completes installation, it will prompt you to start. From the very first intro mission, you are immediately introduced to some chaos you must evade to continue on. But I'll let you see for yourself, no spoilers here. If you are familiar with Just Cause 2, then you will feel comfortable adjusting to the games mechanics with both similarities and differences. With the addition to the hook shot and parachute, we are introduced to a 3rd mode of self-transportation, the wing suit. While the hookshoot grants you momentum, and the parachute gives you the ability to chain this momentum, the new wing suit will give you the advantage of long distance speed while you glide through the air, making this option much more practical than the ordinary sling shotting in Just Cause 2 The explosives and the visuals are just as pleasing as ever. Get your wanted level to 5, steal an apache type helicopter from the DRM, and blast infinite rockets onto enemy bases, vehicles and objectives. The chaos, the explosions, the graphics and the wow factor almost made me late to work as I found it rather difficult to unglue myself from the screen. Again we have the ability to upgrade Rico's gear through numerous challenges such as a destructive challenge, wing suit traversal courses and race challenges. When you complete these challenges, you are given "gears" based on performance. These gears are used to upgrade your equipment based on the category of each challenge. (complete a destructive challenge to unlock destructive gear modifications) So far the only negative thing I have to say about this game is the loading times. As much as you may have heard about it on other reviews or articles, the loading times are indeed horrendous. BUT, I have never encountered any 15 minute load times as some reviews say, but I have waited anywhere between 2-4 minutes for challenge resets or cut scenes. The environment is basically preloaded as you play, so you have 400 square miles of seamless travel, but waiting to get going is probably the hardest things to do. If you are familiar with the Just Cause series, you will definitely want to add this to the collection, if you are new or want a reason to jump into it, read my short synopsis (if you made it this far then I assume you already have) and judge for yourself. This is hands down, a game that will be in my library for years to come.

Just Cause 3
This game might just be the best game I own thus far. It doesn't have online multiplayer nor does it have offline multiplayer, but it is still very fun to play. The character Rico, while he doesn't have super powers like Infamous or Dragonball, doesn't have robotic limbs like some of the characters do in Call of Duty black Ops 3, it isn't a third person shooter like other shooting games, and while it isn't your typical action game; this game is very entertaining. I do have to mention that I have played demos to the previous Just Cause. Just Cause didn't appeal to me, but playing Just Cause 3 has been good so far. The missions are just part of the fun. Driving, flying, boating, gliding with a wing suit and parachuting are also part of the fun in this game, as well as exploding things around you, but let's not forget the grappling hook. While this is much fun, the game got even better with DLC. I'm not talking about vehicles and weapons, but new missions and the Bavarium wing suit, which made things that much more fun, being able to use its weapons and boost. While I thought to myself before finding out about and then downloading the first DLC pack that came with the season pass; why don't they have a jet pack? Well, even better, a wing suit with boost and weapons. Can't wait to see the next 2 DLC. I have to mention that I usually don't write on DLC, but this time I thought I'd make an exception. Back to writing about the actual game, I'd have to say it is a rather challenging game, which is good so that I don't beat it too fast. The missions are fun to play, and some of the cutscenes are fun to watch, as they are pretty humorous. While you won't hear "authentic" gun sounds for the most part. It is a game that I would say doesn't take itself too serious, which is what I like. Some games take it too far with the "seriousness", but this game has something to bring to the table, showing that the characters aren't "perfect", they joke around with each other, the tyrant enjoys his food, they get mad at each other; some throw fits here and there. Sure games try to portray the "humanity" of the characters involved but this game does it well.

I guess it wasnt broken after all =)
I am a big fan of the Just Cause series, and I was dying to play this game, heck I got happy when I saw this game for only 21 dollars. I bought the game downloaded the game (38gb) everything was fine until the game crashed. Not only did it crashed, but I got a blue screen of death. These are my specs Intel i7 6700k 64gb Ram (2x) Titan x Pascal graphic cards (yes I know the game doesn't support sli) as yall can see I have a beast of a computer. There is no need for crashing. Sad part of the situation is, I can't find a download link for the damn patches. I looked into steam and I found a few things of interest, but there wasn't a download link available. =( I really want to give this game a shot, since I bet the game is hell of fun, but when the game crashes, is impossible for anyone to enjoy. **sigh** if anyone can provide a link for the patches I will be totally grateful. If the patches work, I will happily boost up my rating for this game. Until then, a 1 star it is. ***UPDATE** Finally fixed my problem. It turns out MSI Afterburner was giving me this huge problem and also, launching the game from steam rather than clicking the desktop icon helped a lot. The game in no way shape or form is perfect but it is playable. Over 60fps in 4k :) I am having a blast. Raised my 1 star rating to a 5 star rating.

Super produit !
