Vogue® Knitting The Ultimate Stitch Dictionary: More Than 800 Stitch Patterns

For someone who knits. A gift. Full of patterns ( I mean jam packed full so many to choose from) nice pattern layouts as well as color photos. Book is durable / good quality. Pages aren't thin. To me it looked like all one would need. Non knitter me. I could see getting this some yarn and a needle set as a start up package for someone taking interest. I know id be happy.

Book came in perfect condition and on time. It’s the perfect book with every stitch you can imagine it’s beautifully illustrated with lots of beautiful colored yarns and different patterns. Would definitely recommend this book for any knitter. Worth having in your knitters library.

It is always a risk buying a craft/needlework book online. You can’t flip through the pages to see if it offers what you’re looking for. I took the chance on this book, since Vogue books have proven worth the money spent. I’m NOT disappointed. I’m an intermediate knitter, and I was looking for book of various designs and knitting stitches. No garments or accessory instructions are offered in this book; rather the wide range of stitch patterns allow you to design your unique item. The directions are not in “hieroglyphics”, but do utilize some abbreviations. Very easy to comprehend.

Others complained about the picture being hard to see and the print was too small. I think the pics are great. There were a few that could have been from a lighter yarn to see the stich definition. The patterns and charts are good, unless you have poor eyesight. It's a big book and I'll print out the pages I need so I don't have to carry this book. Overall, a very nice book. Especially for the discount price.

Many stitch patterns and are both written and charted if possible. Special stitches have additional description. Very clear and helpful to design own patterns.

I thought the book would include actual item patterns, start to finish. However, it offers a multitude of square samples of patterns, including lace, intarsia (colorwork), and cables. If you have a pattern already for a sweater, you can incorporate any of these designs into the sweater. Otherwise, you will have to find a pattern for a sweater.

Back in early April, I fell (or flew) down the staircase in my home and shattered my left ankle with a high impact triple compound fracture. I was lucky that there happened to be a specialist in that sort of injury in a nearby hospital because otherwise, I could have had to suffer an amputation. I am still in a boot with a cane or walker going through physical therapy, but at least he didn't have to amputate. I've been crochet and knitting presents for my husband's family feverishly in my extended down time. This book has given me new stitches and ideas to use and has literally saved me throughout this unpleasant obstacle in my life!

Realmente, uma biblioteca de pontos. Gostei bastante deste livro, muito bem ilustrado e com explicações detalhadas de cada padrão. Muitos dos padrões são antigos, minha mãe já os utilizava em nossas malhas, mas mesmo assim, vale a pena. Temos muitas ideias de pontos para utilizar em nossos projetos contemporâneos. Adorei! Super recomendo para ter em sua biblioteca o livro físico.
