Bought this to replace the piston in my aging Vertagear gaming chair. Perfect replacement. Gives the same lowest level with an extra 1inch/2.5cm of height. Easy to fit, well packaged and seems to work really well. Only time will tell on its longevity. TOP TIP: Be aware that there are varying low and height differences so be sure to measure your existing pistons lowest, highest, overall length and travel length. It's also a good idea to check the taper at the bottom of your existing pistons as not all pistons are equal in this area. This one sticks through the bottom quite a bit so if your wheel base is low to the ground it will probably hit the floor before the wheels. In that case go for one with less of a taper so not so much of the piston sticks out the bottom of your wheel base.

Perfect replacement for Noble Chairs Hero gas lift. Relatively easy fit - I removed the whole tilt adjustment mechanism, gas lift and floor spider from the chair by removing the 4 x 6mm Allen key bolts, then removed the spider by clouting the end of the gas lift with a reasonably heavy hammer while holding on to the spider. Removal from the rest of the mechanism was easy enough with the aid of a bench vice clamped around the stem of the old gas lift and a bit of a twist of the top assembly. Reassembly was very straightforward and the chair (which is super comfortable) is now back at its proper height. No view on longevity of the replacement so far but the replacement was quick and painless and even if I have to do it every couple of years, it’ll be ok.

MASTERY MART 9 Inches to 13 Inches Gas Lift Cylinder for Most Office Chair, Fitted a Corsair T3 rush gaming chair which the cylinder failed. I believe the Corsair chair has had two replacements cylinders with the last one lasting around 6 months before failing spectacularly. This fitted the gaming chair perfectly and is a good replacement. I'm hoping this last far more than 6 months so will update the review if anything happens. Installing the cylinder was easy enough i couldn't salvage the base plate due to the damage so i also had to replace the tilt plate and base with the wheel. Overall This so far is good and fitted perfectly well, good value comparing to the original which in my opinion fails fairly quickly and the person isn't at all heavy.

Was a good fit, functionally works, but has an issue of lifting it's self to full height over night from time to time, not that much of a big deal.

My 5 year old (but still very comfy) office chair had developed a tendency to lower itself at random, often in the middle of Zoom meetings. Having measured my existing cylinder, I ordered the required length and grith. This one seems to be a common size. It arrived next day, so I set aside a spare 15 minutes to fit it. It's just a tight push fit, but I had to get the old one off, so with my feet firmly on the base, and my hands clamped to the underside of the seat, I lay on my decking on my back, under the chair attempting to pull the two pieces apart. Lots of grunting ensued, but to no avail, although my neighbour wondered why I has having relations with a chair. Next came the lump hammer. A block of wood under the seat, and a well aimed clout with the hammer, and I had a sore thumb. My car jack was next, carefully placed on a block of wood. This separated the cylinder from the base! All I had to do now was pull it out from under the seat. Much more grunting and cursing later, and most of a can of WD40, I resorted to watching a YouTube video, which suggested using a pipe wrench. The young lady that was demonstrating it had no problem twisting the cylinder out, but I must be a bit weaker, as I had no luck, and had to hit the pipe wrench with a hammer. This worked! The new cylinder was a perfect fit, took seconds to put in place, and works perfectly. It stays up all night now and I have no worries about my nose and mouth slowly disapearing from sight in the middle of an important zoom call with my MD. Money well spent in my opinion. In short, if you can get the old one out, this one does the job perfectly!

Great quality gas lift much better than the one that came with the chair. Very easy to fit once you have the old one out. Getting the old one out in my case of a 5 year old chair was hell had to get a rubber mallet and a Pipe wrench absolute nightmare.

I would like to preface this by saying I am fairly strong. Like I have picked up a full size bar fridge by myself and lifted it onto a counter. I do not normally have trouble with things like this but when other reviews say the hardest part of replacing this part is getting the old canister out, believe them! So my chair had been randomly sinking for a few months, forcing me to stop and readjust it or type with my shoulders hunched up to my ears. Eventually it just would not stay in place and since I really like my chair and it wasn’t cheap, I decided to try and fix it. Read the reviews, compared prices, and settled on this one. The new cylinder arrived quickly and I watched a video on how to replace it. Very simple process. Great! I will be sitting like a proper human in no time. Needed a pipe wrench to get the old cylinder out of the chair, which was stiff but not bad, but when I got to the base it absolutely would. not. come. off. Wailing on it with a mallet, then a hammer, soaking in WD40 overnight, taking the wheels off so the cylinder could touch the floor and standing - then jumping - on the base arms. Nothing worked. The nice new cylinder sat in its box while my chair was in pieces and the smell of WD40 lingered everywhere. After 2 days working from a kitchen chair I finally gave up and ordered a new chair base too. Once it arrived this cylinder was super easy to install and it fit perfectly. It took about a minute to reassemble my chair and the hardest part was getting the wheels into the new base as they kept trying to slide off in any direction but down. That was a few months ago and no issues at all with my chair since then. I don’t randomly start sinking in the middle of video calls anymore. Even with buying the base on top of the cylinder it was still cheaper than a new chair. So overall good purchase but be prepared you may need a sledgehammer to get the old one out. TLDR: product is great, installation is easy. Disassembly of previous part not so much.

Can’t say enough about this great well made piece. Easy to install. I didn’t want to part with my chair. As it’s comfortable and made well. I’ve had it for decades. So finding this replacement gas replacement part was a game changer. I’d highly recommend this item if you should be in the market for a new replacement part.

Super Gasdruckfeder, hält top. Für meine 1,90 Meter brauchte ich eine extra lange Feder, daher die 437mm Version. Mehr als ausreichend. Selbst für 2 Meter-Menschen sollte es mehr als genug Hub sein um korrekt und ergonomisch zu sitzen. Verwirrend in der Beschreibung hier ist die 450lbs Tragkraft. Dies entspricht ungefähr 204kg, nicht wie in der Beschreibung 450kg. Gleichzeitig wird aber auf Kolben Klasse 4 verwiesen, die ist eigentlich auf 1000lbs normiert was 450kg entspricht. Im Zweifelsfall würde ich mal von 200kg ausgehen. Die Feder reicht also locker für etwas stämmigere Menschen oder auch um eventuell eine Gasdruckfeder die etwas unterdimensioniert ist zu ersetzen. Falls man mehr als 200kg wiegen sollte würde ich vorher beim Hersteller nachfragen. Jedenfalls kann ich die Gasdruckfeder wärmstens empfehlen. Passt wunderbar in Standard Büro und Gamingstühle. HINWEIS: Ich würde jedem empfehlen unbedingt vorher zu testen ob man die alte Gasdruckfeder rausbekommt (bevor man bestellt). Es gibt zwar zig Tutorials und YouTube Videos die zeigen wie man das macht und wie "einfach" das ist. Bisschen WD40 Spray und dreimal Klopfen und schon ist die alte Feder draußen. Nene... Vor allem wenn man einen älteren, etwas "eingesessenen" Stuhl hat (mein Gaming Stuhl zum Beispiel) ist es alles andere als einfach. Habe über ne Stunde rumgeklopft und Gewalt angewendet Hammer, Rohrzange etc. Da war nix zu wollen. Letztlich hat mir ein Kollege in der Firma (erfahrener Schlosser) die Feder mit exzellentem Werkzeug und Geschick heraus bekommen. Ist wirklich alles andere als einfach, deshalb: Erst ausprobieren!
