A major upgrade for my home studio
I previously used PreSonus Eris 3.5 monitors in my home studio, and they were beautiful speakers with excellent performance for their price. However, the JBL 305P MkII are a remarkable upgrade. The bass is deeper and more controlled, the mids are clear, warm and natural, and the highs are present and detailed without sounding harsh. The stereo image is also impressive, making mixing much easier and more enjoyable. An outstanding choice for any serious home studio.

The home office upgrade I was missing
Outstanding value! Good clarity, bass and mid range for music. Great for taking meetings. Great for the desktop. If you have the luxury of having a home office, these speakers are a phenomenal upgrade over Audiophile grade headphones. Get yourself a reasonable DAC, these speakers will impress.

Crystal clear!
I paired these speakers with a JBL lsr310s sub and together they sound phenomenal! The 305P speakers are very clear, even at very loud volumes. They look nice and blend in on my desktop. Together, the music is so rich and full sounding, I am having a hard time turning the music off. The speakers were well worth the money!

Well rated. Great quality for a home studio, or just listening. Reasonably priced.
I researched monitors in the $200-$500 range per pair, and these turned up first or second on several reputable lists. Great-sounding monitors, priced well at retail. I lucked out with an open-box opportunity I couldn't pass up. In my little back-room studio, I create song demos for submission to publishers and artist reps, as well as voice-over work. The room is wood-paneled, which gives it pretty good acoustics, but it's not tuned in any way. I record into and run speakers and headsets through an EVO8 audio interface that works seamlessly with a Mac Air as a desktop computer and with a laptop for mobile mixing. A balanced TRS-XLR line cable from EVO8 to each speaker produces great, no-hum sound reproduction for mixing, neutral, crystal-clear output across all frequencies. Bass ports in the rear convey the low end well-balanced and not overpowering.

Loud and Awesome!
These are a beast!!!! The lows, mids, and highs are amazing and I don't hear any hissing while playing because they are actually quiet!!!! Don't get me wrong, the speakers are very loud without me even maxing!!! Don't forget to buy your TRS 1/4 cables 😁

Great speakers, but the white noise issue is definitely present.
Great speakers to upgrade to! However, if you sit with them rather close to you, because you have them on your desk with all your OTHER things you have on your desk... You will notice a slight white noise sound coming from the speakers even without any input going into them. From everything else I read online once I noticed that, it's usually the power supply on the 305P's that do this. That's not to say you shouldn't be using a sheilded (aka balanced) cable however! Once you have the volume or whatever you're listening to loud enough, the white noise isn't noticeable during playback. But if it gets quieter (like listening to classical music, or anything that actually uses a dynamic range lol) then you'll notice it comes back into your perception. The white noise does NOT seem to increase as you increase the volume/gain knob on the back of the speakers. However, one fun bit on that: the third notch it can go to will emit a fun high pitch sound if you leave it there and listen close. No one will be leaving these speakers at that low of a volume so it's not really an issue and goes away both above and below that notch. Besides the noise floor issue, I do think the 305P's are a little unbalanced in terms of bass to treble ratio. You can dial back the bass with their Boundary EQ, even so I still think it's a bit much for the room I am using them in. FYI for those coming from a powered speaker set where ONE speaker is powered and the other is passive - these both have a power switch on the back. If you want to do away with that, try plugging them into a power conditioner (or power sequencer if you have other equipment that needs to go in a specific order to power on). That way you have one switch for both speakers, rather than reaching around the speakers all the time.

Added a whole new level to my CN39 Kawai.
Wonderful sound. Connects easily. Size is just right to put on both sides of the piano . Look great in the room and the piano now sounds so much better and this piano is rated pretty good for sound as is. Glad I bought every day.

Amazing speakers! They DO come as a PAIR
Amazing sound clarity. These are my 1st monitor speakers i ever bought for my home studio setup. I compared to the Yamaha HS5 which sounded a bit harsher in the midrange and not as clear in the bass. I love the JBL's clarity in the mids and the tight bass. Im not sure about the effectiveness of the trim controls on the back, for now just leave both on 0 as that's when the sound is mostly flat and balanced to my ear. Oh and to everyone that complained this listing is a SCAM and that you only get ONE speaker... i had no such problem. Mine came as a pair. Best bang for your buck i think for quality monitors

Great Sound Quality and Clarity for a Home Studio
I recently purchased the JBL Professional 305P MkII studio monitors they are an excellent choice for anyone setting up a home studio or upgrading from basic speakers. The first thing that stands out is the clarity and balance of the sound. These monitors reveal details I simply couldn’t hear before on regular speakers. The stereo imaging is very precise, which makes it much easier to place instruments and understand what is happening in a mix. For guitar players and people working with amp simulators, this is especially useful because you can hear subtle tone differences much more clearly. Another highlight is the JBL Image Control Waveguide design. It provides a very wide sweet spot, so the sound remains consistent even if you move slightly around your desk. This makes long sessions much more comfortable compared to many entry-level monitors where the listening position has to be extremely precise. The low-end response is also impressive for a 5-inch monitor. The bass is tight and controlled rather than exaggerated. It doesn’t artificially boost frequencies but instead presents the sound honestly. Build quality feels solid, setup was straightforward with balanced inputs, and they paired perfectly with my audio interface. Overall, the JBL 305P MkII offers outstanding value for the price. They deliver professional-level monitoring that is accurate, detailed, and enjoyable to listen to for long sessions. Highly recommended for musicians, producers, and anyone looking for reliable studio monitors without spending a fortune.
