The automatic turn on, turn off feature works really well. We have an outdoor post light at our front walk. The light takes 2 40w candelabra bulbs. My wife and I both work, so it's never on when we come home in the winter. If we forget to turn it off, it's burning all day. The photo sensor in this bulb work really well. Light turns itself on at dusk, turns itself off. The sensor detects sunlight, not just any light. One of the bulbs being on doesn't cause the other bulb to turn off. Great light, certainly bright enough to see where I'm walking when the sidewalk is icy. Highly recommend. We're also burning 8 watts per hour, not 80 watts. I've had the bulbs for two weeks, no comment on longevity.

While I was waiting for delivery of these bulbs, I started reading more deeply into the negative reviews. A few people were saying that they don’t work in a fixture that has 2 bulbs, because one of them detects the light from the other bulb, so it won’t turn on. I was thinking UGH, this is not going to work for me, as all of my fixtures have 2 bulbs. I was pleasantly surprised when I installed them that both bulbs worked in all of my fixtures. I’m thinking that may have been an issue with earlier versions, but they’ve since resolved it. Anyway, I was worrying for no reason, they work beautifully! Highly recommend.

These bulbs are bright, one will come on at night and off during the day. But I'm frustrated as we have a three-bulb carriage light. And just as I expected, the first light that comes on turns the other two off. I turned the lights on and off, and the best I can get is 2 out of three to work , then it's back to just one. And there is no turning the sensor in any direction, they're either screwed in or not. So the bulbs are good, but they won't work for me in a 3 bulb carriage light. No-fault of the bulb, you just can't have three photosensors in close proximity.

I should give this 5 stars because it’s be working amazingly well. Installation is easy, energy efficient, pretty bright as well. I took of 1 star because I was going to return it as the dawn to dusk detection was not working it after installation and that was the whole reason for getting this bulb. I gave a last try by leaving it on for a couple of days and then turned it on and off once again and boom! It’s been working perfectly fine since then with the switch in the on position. Turns on at dusk and goes off at dawn!

I learned about dusk to dawn light bulbs on my last house, so I knew that's what I wanted for my new house. However, I was a little concerned about the light bulb kind I needed for my new home. So I was very glad when I found these candelabras light bulbs . I read comments about not working properly if you have them too close, so I only installed one on my outdoor light fixtures. Since then I decided to try having both light bulbs (fixture looked kind of unkept with just 1) and I am happy to report that I haven't had any issues. They light on/off at the same time. I have had them for about 3 months and they seem to work just fine. It's very practical, just screw the bulbs and you are done. You need to leave the switch on. When you first install the light bulb it will stay on for a little bit but it turns off in about 5 minutes and you are all set.

I recently started using these dust to dawn bulbs and they are a game changer. No more forgetting to turn on or off the outside lights. This takes care of it. Highly recommended!

I ordered 2 boxes of the GE Dusk to dawn LED bulbs and one box worked while the other did not - the defective bulbs would Light up during the day. I returned the defective box and got a quick replacement. The replacement bulbs also don’t work. These too stay on while it’s daylight. The sensors are not working. I tested them by switching them out with the good ones.. the picture shows one one and the other off. I’ll try one more time for a replacement, and if these don’t work, I’ll return them all as I want all the bulbs to match. Anyone know a reliable brand?

Nice and bright, and turn themselves off if I forget. No need to pay extra for outdoor lights that have the built in light sensor. These bulbs do their job. When first installed the bulbs will light up during daylight - just wait around and they will turn off. My electrician was impressed. These bulbs also look nice during daylight hours.

Not only good to save electricity by the auto turn off function, but it's also pretty.

Sensor on outdoor pole light wasn’t working. Ordered and Tried these bulbs and they work great. No need to replace the sensor.
