A must have for down sleeping bags
I was recommended to use this from REI for my son's new sleeping bag. He attended Philmont, and it needed to be washed on his return. This worked wonderfully. Easy to use and better than anything I've tried before on a sleeping bag. It's now on my must-have gear list.

Keeps down gear working
Restores loft to down gear that's gotten compressed and flattened over time. Actually cleans it right without damaging the down like regular detergent would. Follow the instructions and your down gear works like new again instead of looking sad and flat. Takes time to do properly but worth it for expensive gear that you want to last. Extends the life of what you own instead of having to replace it. Makes down jackets and sleeping bags perform better. The smell after washing is clean. Brings gear back to life when it's lost performance. Essential if you own quality down products.

They said it shouldn’t be done
I’ve owned my Canada Goose parka for a couple years. I knew going into it that having an expensive, Dry Clean Only white coat would be stressful, but I found an irresistible deal and decided to take a chance. Plus, I do think the white looks very stylish. Spot cleaning worked okay for a while, but over time certain areas built up grime that I just couldn’t remove. There is no dry cleaner anywhere near me that specializes in Canada Goose, so I was afraid I’d have to accept a dingy coat until I could afford a different color. But I kept wondering “what if” and the internet convinced me I could probably wash my coat. I know it’s quite privileged to be able to experiment with a Canada Goose and risk ruining it, but it was heading toward ruination anyway in my mind. I decided to try Nikwax because it was most commonly recommended. I used two capfuls and followed their recommendation to use a slow spin and extra rinse. I was thrilled to see that there was no color bleed whatsoever from the black trim or the patch! All of the dinginess washed right out! I popped it in the dryer with some dryer balls and ran several 60-minute sessions on the lowest heat setting. It puffed up nicely with only a few clumps that I broke up by hands. I didn’t have any issues with greasy looking spots or stains that others have reported. Some minor things to be aware of: - the fleece lining of the pockets pilled up a bit and feels less velvety soft. A bummer, but it’s not seen and a small price to pay for a clean coat - I stupidly did not think to button up the flap that covers the zipper, and there’s some very minor chipping of paint from the zips clinking around in the dryer - You’ll void the warranty if you machine wash, but my coat didn’t have a warranty anyway (as far as I know) since I bought it used. Overall I’m beyond pleased with this product, and the knowledge that I can stress less about keeping my coat pristine each winter. Kicking myself for not taking “before” pictures, but the after pics show that it emerged unscathed.

No Substitute
This is the industry standard. Go into any sport store or any high-end athletic wear and when you ask about how to wash a down sleeping bag or down coat, this is what they're going to tell you. "Nikwax."

perfect for down jackets
I've been using this to wash my down jackets for years now since regular detergent strips the water-repellent oils that make down actually work. It is gentle while being concentrated and strong so you only need a little. It makes my jackets always come out smelling and feeling great, and noticeably fluffier.

Great purchase!
I like this down wash but the bottle is too small for the price. I used the whole bottle for just one parka. It cleans really well though but you have to clean the dirty spots manually first, than put it in a large basin or bathtub to soak, and finally, put it in the washing machine. I first just put my parka in the washing machine but it didn't come out clean. So, I had to do the steps I described above. My North Face white parka now looks brand new and fluffy. I recommend it but I wish the bottle was either bigger, or cheaper though.

The go-to wash for keeping down jackets clean and fluffy
I've been using this every few seasons to clean my Patagonia down jacket for years now and it consistently delivers. The down comes out clean without losing its loft — throw the jacket in the dryer with a couple of tennis balls afterward and it fluffs back up like new. It's become a reliable part of my jacket care routine and I wouldn't use anything else on a quality down jacket. Who this is for: Anyone with a down jacket worth looking after. Particularly good for premium jackets where you want to clean without compromising the fill. Bottom line: Does exactly what down wash should do. A trusted product I keep coming back to. Recommended.

Good performance
This worked so well. I was surprised the bottle is only for 3 jackets but still I believe it’s worth the purchase My jacket was so dirty from daily wear and it came out fresh.
