We installed some string lights on our patio a while back, which we love, but since we also sometimes use the patio for an outdoor movie theater the lights were always a bit too bright. We had searched for a wall switch dimmer but the one that we would have needed for our setup would have been extremely expensive, and would not work for our incandescent lights. The Treatlive Outdoor Dimmer was our solution! It made it extremely easy to use as we didn't have to change out the wall switch inside our home, just plug it into the outlet and the lights into that, and you are ready to go! Since it is weatherproof it makes it nice as it is outside at all times ( as the outlet is near the roofline, it is not easy to remove ). Now we can easily dim the lights for the movies or turn them up to full brightness when we need the area well lit. It is great! The Treatlife app was simple to download and install and had it working in just a few minutes. We connected it to our Alexa devices so we can now just say 'Turn on the Patio Lights' and it works! The dimming feature works really well with these lights as it does dim them very low if needed. We can now enjoy our patio lights...and the movies at the same time! We would highly recommend

This is a really good product. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that it’s kinda bulky. But it works great. I purchased two to use with our outdoor lighting. I can set it on a timer to light up & turn off at specific times. I can also set the dimmer adjusting the lights with my iPhone. Super easy to use.

So good that I ordered a second for another set of lights, and may order a third! For those of you wondering, this does have a physical switch / dimmer you can use without your phone. There's a single button that you tap to turn the lights on and off, or hold down to dim/brighten (it starts going one direction until it maxes out then goes the other direction). Wifi setup was very simple, and, while I haven't looked into the fancier settings yet, the basic controls on the app more than meet my needs of manual on/off and a brightness slider. I've made use of the timer feature as well to make sure we don't forget to turn the lights off after a night of partying. The construction seems solid and pretty rugged. I expect it will last a long time, even outside. I also like that it provides a slot to hook onto a screw or nail for easy wall mounting. My one suggested update is to have a longer power cord. Unless you have an outlet within about a foot of where you want this switch to be, you'll need an extension. In my particular scenario, we had to run an extension along the side of the house. That extension goes to a triple outlet staked into the ground because I need at least 2 switches at this location and want to keep the connections off the ground to avoid potential issues with puddles. However, if I connect this switch directly to that staked outlet it will only be about 1.5 feet off the ground, which is pretty inconvenient for using the physical button. This means that I need to either live with that; buy and install another 3-6 ft outdoor extension, causing a setup of extension -> landscape outlet -> extension -> switch -> extension -> lights; mount the switch and leave the outlet hanging (ghetto and probably not 100% weather safe); or, hopefully, find a different cheap outdoor splitter that can be mounted to the wall right beneath the switch. I feel like the power cord should be 3-4 ft, which is long enough to go from the floor, where most extension cords reside, to a normal & convenient height to use the button.

These are great smart dimmer/timer plugs to control lights from your phone. The Treatlife smart app is quite functional, but a little convoluted. It allows you to set timers and schedules. Full range dimming etc. Very happy with it. Have bought two of them.

I attempted to use this device for some outdoor string lights. Set up was easy and quick, and I was able to set the timer on them easily using the Treatlife app on my phone. I was also able to integrate it with Alexa fairly easily at first. Dimming feature was simple enough, and even dimming them through voice commands to Alexa worked great. After the first full day of use, though, the plug (and lights plugged in to them) kept showing up as offline/disconnected. I reset (and unplugged/re-plugged), and they worked fine, until later in the day when they went offline/were disconnected again. This happened over and over - the device would be online and functional for perhaps half the day, then go offline/get disconnected/be entirely undiscoverable. This was quite the hassle, as the outlet I have the device plugged in to is quite high up in an awning on my back deck, so I'd need to bring out the ladder to reset/unplug. When the device is offline, Alexa can't do anything and only physically fiddling with the device itself would get it back online (for part of a day, before it disconnected yet again). I know my wifi signal in the yard and on the back deck is good, and I have a mesh point just inside the back door less than 15 feet from the device itself. My wifi lets me check the strength of signals to connected devices, and the 2.4ghz signal to this device is consistently strong - it just doesn't want to stay connected. I'll likely just ditch this thing, and try another Alexa/Wifi-compatible device, while also buying a simple remote-controlled device as a back up. While remote-control devices rarely have Alexa compatibility, at least I know I can use the remote to control it from a distance as desired, rather than having to pull out the ladder again to fix this one when it doesn't want to turn off or on.

I am so happy that I bought this smart dimmer for our porch string lights! All I wanted was a plug with on/off switch so that I didn’t have to plug/ unplug the wire with each time of use. When I saw the dimmer and smart options I gave it a try! This is so cool and you will know by watching my video! Feels like I should have bought it along with my lights. The remote control use through smart WiFi connection surprisingly works from anywhere in my house or even if I am away! My entire family especially the kids were in awe when we easily controlled the lights through the TreatLife app! The initial set up was super easy and the instructions were very clear! The device looks durable and weatherproof. Will update if any different. Lights at different levels created the moods for the different occasions! I definitely recommend using a dimmer to get the full use of the lights. LED lights (Solatec LED String Lights, Shatterproof ) didn’t even flicker once. TreatLife App has many features like to set timer, schedules, control multiple devices etc. After using the voice control, I wanted to go smart on more plugs and switches in my house. My Alexa is at a different location so I installed google voice + google home to use the voice control on my IPhone. I tried connecting to the Home app and Siri on IPhone and didn’t work. The package only says about Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice controls and integrated fully. It is also very nice that the dimmer works both smart and manually. The on/ off switch on the dimmer itself can be used to power the lights on/ off. Dimmer feature can also be used manually by pressing continuously on the on/ off button until the desired level is achieved.

As some other customers have stated, these do work with the Costco Feit LED string lights! I bought the lights for my balcony not realizing just how bright they are, so this dimmer was the perfect solution. There is one button on the dimmer for on/off, pairing, and dimming. If you want to control the on/off or dimming from your phone, you can download their app and control the dimmer from there. It took me a few tries to get connected to the app, as I was trying to follow directions on both the app and the paper insert in the box, so just pick one and you should be good to go. I was also able to connect it seamlessly to my Google home, so now I can control everything from there too. Would highly recommend.

Super easy to setup. Small. Waterproof. The app for it is super easy to use, and it pairs great with Alexa. On the downside, it only has on plug in. I've seen similar that offer two plugs but I can't vouch for how easy they are to pair with Alexa but this is great. I use a short extension cord with additional outlets to connect to this, works fine, but just a little more mess of cords than I like. Would definitely buy this manufacturers products again. Love the simplicity of the app... really nice.
