Works great for my needs
I love this product. I guess its more for based on your needs. For mine, its perfect. I live in the desert and the hot nights bring countless gnats to the light at our front door. Its so bad its even Into the mornings. Then the grasshoppers/locusts are swarms. This collects all of those annoying pests so they dont fly into my house when going in and out of my door. I have never had a lizard or bird or anything like that and we have tons of those too. The cage around it is perfect. Its easy to assemble. I have used tons of these since we bought our house. My only negative is they are a little on the expensive side but the same as the big stores. They do such a good job they fill up fast and have to replace them constantly so it does get a little expensive. I totally recommend them if you live in the desert like me.

BEST carpenter bee trap ever!!!! Buy some now!!
If you have a problem with carpenter bees, BUY THIS!! My son wanted one of these for wasps, tho neither of us had ever heard of or tried them before, but he is plagued with wasps at his apartment, and we have a million carpenter bees invade our property every spring, so we were desperate. I ordered a pack if 3, kept 2 and gave him 1. He has not seen a single wasp or other bug of any kind on his trap in the 2-3 weeks we’ve both had our traps, but it could be the wasps have moved on to greener pastures; we don’t know. But folks, let me tell you about our 2 traps and the carpenter bees that arrived April 1, right on schedule, a few days after I got these traps!! I hung 1 trap off each handrail of our wooden deck stairs, where the bees have made their “living quarters” in past spring seasons, the buggars. And waited. At first, I didn’t think we’d caught a single bee, as they kept flying around us and being annoying as usual for a few days, and then I heard a buzzing as I walked up the steps, investigated, and saw a trapped carpenter bee on the sticky board at the bottom of the trap… along with 4-5 of his friends and family! No time for funerals or sad feelings here, though I won’t say I celebrated exactly. I will just say I did run happily inside and let my husband know the good news. In about 5 more days, there were about a dozen carpenter bees on EACH trap (deceased)! Needless to say, we have been enjoying our first spring outdoors in years, and if you too suffer from these bothersome critters, BUY THESE. I can’t say how good they are with other insects/bugs, but they work better than anything I’ve ever tried, and that includes EVERY wooden trap with jars/bottles attached (some of those were meh to ok, but always have to be replaced the next year and cost $30 or more).

Saved our orchard!!
Cutter bees were destroying our orchard, stripping leaves off all our trees. Our cherry tree had only 3 leaves left. We hung these on our trees and must have caught most of the bees, as the destruction stopped. We also used mosquito netting over the tree canopy and loosely tied around the trunks for additional protection. Although we recognize the benefits of bees, these cutter bees were out of control and we would have lost our entire orchard, which is a lot of money to replace, loss of future harvests, and time to grow to maturity. Would buy again, if needed.

The Sticky Totem of Doom
Dateline: A Back Porch Under Siege, Late Sunday Night. There's a certain kind of aerial menace that defies reason. The wasp. The mud dauber. The carpenter bee. These are not creatures you can negotiate with. They are tiny, airborne gangsters, buzzing with a latent hostility that can turn a peaceful afternoon into a frantic, swatting nightmare. You need a defense. A silent, passive, and utterly diabolical one. Enter the RESCUE! VisiLure TrapStik. It is not a spray, not a zapper, but something far more primitive and insidious. It is a totem pole of pure, sticky death. It arrives in a clear plastic tube. You pull it out, and it feels… well, it feels a bit cheap. Let’s be honest. It’s a cardboard tube covered in a psychedelic pattern of dots and swirls, all coated in a layer of glue so tenacious it feels like it could stop a charging rhino. You peel off the protective wrapper, hang it from a hook, and the trap is set. The ease of it all is deceptive. The "VisiLure" technology is the bait. The strange, colorful patterns are apparently irresistible to the multifaceted eyes of flying pests. They see it not as a harbinger of doom, but as some kind of insectoid paradise, a promised land of color and light. They fly in for a closer look, for a landing, for what they believe will be a moment of triumph. And then they are lost. The moment a single leg touches that glue, the struggle is over. It is a brutal, uncompromising adhesive. There is no escape. There is only a slow, sticky submission. After a few days, the totem tells its grim story. It becomes a macabre trophy, a graveyard studded with the vanquished. Wasps, flies, mud daubers, and a whole host of other assorted flying nuisances are held fast, a permanent monument to their own poor judgment. The sheer number of captives is shocking. It is undeniable, visceral proof that this thing works. It works with a savage efficiency. But here lies the rub. The price. For what is, essentially, a very well-designed sticky cardboard tube, the cost feels a bit steep. You look at this flimsy-feeling disposable trap, now covered in the spoils of war, and you can’t help but feel that the economics are slightly out of balance. The verdict? It’s a pretty decent weapon in the war against flying pests. It is savagely effective, easy to deploy, and requires zero maintenance. But you are paying a premium for that effectiveness, packaged in a form that feels like it should cost about half as much. It’s a fine product, but a questionable value. A sticky, effective, and slightly overpriced solution to a very persistent problem.

Works for me.
These work as good as anything I have found. I bought for carpenter bees but noticed a lot of wasps get stuck as well. Easy to put together. “You only get a touch of sticky side once.” Lots of space on all sides. The lg carpenter bees get stuck. I can hear them at night if on my patio. Last desperate might to free itself from extremely sticky traps. 2nd yr year using.

Worked well.
These have worked very well for me. After a week I captured a lot of wasps and an added bonus, many flies. I received a 3 pack only a week ago. I noticed two of them which were in the sun had a substantial amount of wasps and flies. One of them in the shade did not have a hit. So I moved it to another area in the yard with sun and today I found I had captured wasps and flies. Since I have a wasp problem, I have ordered 3 more.

Put out all 3 of them and based on photos I would have expected to catch at least one. Not a single wasp, carpenter bee, nadda stuck to this product. I have them around my house in key spots they gather. Nothing stuck to any of the traps. Not excited for this product at all.
