Burg-Wachter MB02A Anthracite Elegance Wall Mounted Galvanised Steel Lockable Weatherproof Post Box RAL7016 - 36x31x10cm

We purchased this postbox in order to try to keep heat in the house by blocking off our traditional, draughty, letterbox slot. The postbox is well made, quite light-weight metal, with a very good paint finish. It's not made in Germany, as the brand name and adverts suggest, but is made in the PRC; as stated on the packaging. A bit fiddly to install, as you need to line up 4 x drill holes, and small rubber grommets, and 4 x screws; and get the whole thing level. . . ! It's quite narrow, part of the reason we bought it was that it didn't stick out too far from the wall. The downside of this is that stiffer A4-sized items will need to be carefully bent a bit in order for them to drop down safely. In fairness, the postbox is only designed to take C4 size envelopes, so if you need to take regular A4 deliveries, you need to get a box deeper than the 112mm this one offers. Luckily our postie is great and considerate! :-) But if you get the Smol dishwasher tablet monthly delivery, they do not "bend" and end up sticking out the letter flap. . . ! The small keys supplied are a bit stiff in the lock, and the postbox is not really designed as a "secure" postbox, more for monitored domestic use. All in all, so far; it's weather-resistant, looks good installed, and seems easier to receive post than our traditional letter flap and "draught proof" brushes, with fewer slightly crumpled envelopes arriving. It has made a noticeable difference in keeping our hall warmer, and therefore our house warmer, which is a real plus point.

This is a lovely, solid high-quality post box, exactly how it is described. It is slim, elegant and a lovely dark anthracite colour, made of strong galvanised steel and easy to fix to the wall. It came promptly and very securely packaged. Our only niggle - and we are to blame for this - is that we didn’t consider the slimness of the posting slit, which is enough for letters but wouldn’t allow all packages. We should have chosen one with a lid that lifts, though I wonder if that would have been as watertight, or whether the box is even big enough for chunky packages. Obviously, in this day and age when so much is ordered on the internet, customers who receive a lot of parcels should give this issue some consideration. We are still happy with our box and will find an alternative method for receiving packages!

Very happy with this letterbox, I did a lot of research before I settled on this and felt value for quality wise it was a good bet for our porch. I haven't been disappointed and we've been using this for about 18 months now with no issues. It is a good size and fits in large envelopes, magazines etc no problems; and has a good storage capacity if you are away for a few days. The key lock mechanism is easy to use and there have been no signs of weather damage, however it's important to say that this is used in a covered porch so doesn't come in contact with persistent heavy rain. We found this easy to install too. Overall good value for an decent letterbox which looks well an isnt an eyesore in our porch.

Fits a lot of mail into it. Rust resistant and easy to mount. Sturdy too. It’s lightweight which was great when I was mounting it, it seems to be waterproof too

No thought given what so ever to the difficulties in the installation of this post box. Needs one person to hold it straight and one person to screw it onto the surface. Whilst the bottom screws are straight forward enough the 2 top screws have to be installed through the slot for mail which has to be held open for this process, therefore its best to put in the bottom screws first and then the top. A lot of faffing about. Very sturdy. But wouldn't recommend because of the installation issues.

I sacrificed my letterbox when I installed a cat flap in my door and although the post can be put through the cat flap, sometimes I lock it. So I got this. It's nice and slim so I was able to attach it to the door rather than a wall and I don't need to go outside to retrieve the post. It's very well finished with smooth paint and a smart look The colour matches my door so it's very discreet. The lock/key feels quite basic and won't keep a determined thief out but I guess this is just to stop the casual pilferer. The slot is wide enough for A4 size letters, but not really thick letters or small parcels. You can't put your whole hand through the flap. It comes pre-drilled with fitting holes, but my panelled door needed the holes in a different place so I drilled new ones. Fitting was otherwise easy – you get wall plugs and screws x 4. Overall, I think this is very good.

Ich kann diesen Briefkasten nur empfehlen. Wir benötigten einen, der an unserem Jägerzaun angebracht werden kann. Wir haben dazu noch entsprechende Schienen bestellt. Er ließ sich damit perfekt und festsitzend befestigen. Das Material des Kastens ist stabil und sehr gut lackiert, das Schloss funktioniert super. Besonders bemerken möchte ich, dass auch bei Starkregen der Kasten innen komplett trocken bleibt.

Ho comprato questa cassetta della posta perché ne volevo una rossa, lineare e senza troppi fronzoli. È molto bella da vedere, siamo riusciti a montarla sul cancello d'ingresso con 2 staffe senza fare buchi ne impalcature invasive. È capiente e avendo la bocca d'ingresso della posta abbastanza larga, si riescono ad infilare anche dei piccoli pacchetti, quindi utile se acquistare online. In più, pur essendo esposta a tutte le intemperie (il cancello è scoperto) da più di un anno, è ancora perfetta. Non do 5 stelle perché lo sportellino è molto leggero, quindi nella chiusura a volte non combacia perfettamente al telaio, quindi bisogna accompagnarlo con la mano. È un prodotto che ha comunque un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo! Consigliato!
