I don't see how this is box is worth $49.99. Was there a gift card included (as stated) for at least $25? Other than that, this box seems overpriced.

No there is not a gift card and there is nothing in the listing stating any type of gift card. Also, the price includes a lot of work by the seller. Including but not limited to, create the listing in Amazon's catalog, sourcing 9 hard to find popular Pop Tart varieties, the time, labor and expenses involved in purchasing, packaging, and shipping the product. Also, paying all Amazon fees involved in selling this product on Amazon's website. The expenses are incurred to provide the buyer the opportunity and convenience to purchase this hard to find Pop Tarts variety pack at one convenient location.

What is the expiration date

The expiration dates vary. But or policy mirrors Amazon policy of once received nothing less than 50 days remaining will be included. However, I would say that our typical expiration dates is often 4-9 months remaining on Pop Tarts

Do the two-poptart packets inside have color printed wrappers for individual sale in a vending machine?

I finished these a long time ago, but these were regular off the shelf boxes, so I doubt the internal packages were for resale.

How many pop tarts are actually included?

Well, there are 9 boxes, Each box contains 8 pop tarts. So that is 72 pop tarts in total

This was a great present to myself

This was a great present to myself, a poptart lover. Only thing is some of the flavors are not my favorite, but overall a great item. Lets you try other flavors you don't normally eat.
