I love the Smooth as Silk shampoo - it leaves my hair feeling silky smooth, but also clean without any residual greasiness. Just a note - I have thick, curly hair; my partner has thin, short, straight hair; my mom has thin, wavy hair; it works for all of our hair types. I enjoy the the scent. It's like a nice light grapefruit scent but isn't overwhelming at all, and I'm typically sensitive to any added fragrance. The thickness of the shampoo is nice, it pours in a ribbon so it is easy to transfer into other bottles. The gallon jug lasts my household well over 6 months, and that's with 4 people using it at least 2-3 times a week. The value, quality, results, scent, and consistency are unmatched. I have been thrilled with all the GIOVANNI products I've tried. I will be buying over and over again!

The large capacity makes it easy to buy new ones less often. It is easy to make foam and I feel it has high cleaning power. On the other hand, it does not react with my skin and I have no problem using it. It is good because it doesn't have the harsh smell that is typical of shampoos on the street. I will probably repeat this again when I run out.

We support this company because of their dedication to high-quality ingredients. This is a great shampoo. I am highly sensitive to smell, and the scent in this is light and natural smelling. Overall, it has improved the quality of my hair.

This shampoo is very moisturizing in my experience. It's a bit spendy, but buying the large size helps with that. The one drawback with the formulation is that it doesn't lather as well as commercial shampoos. But this may be a fair tradeoff for being Lauryl & Laureth Sulfate free.

Before this I was using the tea tree triple treat shampoo and conditioner products of this brand and they feel amazing on you hair and scalp, they are really clarifying and give your scalp and deep down tingly clean feeling that just feels amazing and heals/soothes if you have any scalp issues (dandruff, dry itchy scalp, etc). I used triple treat exclusively for about two months, despite the fact that my was itself starting to dry out. Finally my hair got to the the point that it was just too dry and I'd read various places that this smooth as silk is super moisturizing and decided to try it. It's really nice that they have the 2 oz bottles online b/c I didn't want to buy the giant ones in the store b/c I was worried it'd be to heavy for my (fine wavy to curly) hair but its not. The first use helped some but each use since has helped more. I use both the smooth as silk shampoo and conditioner and my hair has become A LOT more healthy. I also still use t3 products when I want a more clarifying wash. So far I love Giovanni products. I would imagine 50/50 is great too, but I haven't tried it yet.

It is the only product that I have found and I have used the big name brands out of LA to no avail. This product takes any dryness out of my hair from over processing. It came timely with no problems. Great value. Makes my hair shiny and fluffy.

We have there is different kinds of hair in our family ranging from 1. very long, thicker, wavy hair, 2. long, thin, straight hair, 3. thick, coarse, straight hair, 4. full head of hair, medium texture, straight hair. this shampoo has worked OK for all of us, However, we do feel like we need to double wash and those of us with extremely thick hair need to wash three times and rinse really well. It does not leave a ton of buildup if rinse out completely but we can see how buildup could be produced as it is a little moisturizing. I am not sure if we would buy this again only because it wasn’t a favorite, but I would buy this again if it was an only option. I tend to be picky and expect a lot so that means I like this, but didn’t love this - as far as the scent goes, I loved it!

This is a nice creamy, yet highly lathering shampoo. It is very moisturizing. Some of our curly hairs like it, but one of us doesn't need this much moisture (it's very moisturizing). The smell is divine, even when I have a migraine, which says a lot. I can tell it's quality, non-toxic fragrance. I will buy again happily.

I’m super picky about my hair and have been searching for a gentle, safe, affordable shampoo for a long time. My hair is thick and wavy, and prone to frizziness. But this shampoo works great. Pros- really leaves me hair much smoother/straighter and shinier. Smells lovely, like grapefruit and apples but not too strong. Really affordable for a professional shampoo. Cons- doesn’t lather too well so if you have thick hair you’ll need to use more product than other shampoos. The bottle is a bit annoying because it’s a hard plastic so it’s difficult to squeeze, but also opens at the top so gravity can’t help unless you balance it upside down. Overall difficult to get that last bit of product out. Also wish it was 300ml instead since you end up using a lot. Overall really like this. This is my third tome buying it and I won’t be switching out anytime soon. I’ve tried other shampoos between washes and they dry my hair out. Would definitely recommend! edit: after a few months of use, I’ve noticed I get some minor dandruff. It was enough that I switch it out for a stronger clarifying shampoo every so often. of course that makes my hair drier but it allows me to go back to giovanni and really reap the benefits.
