Works as Advertised and Perfect for Me
This gets the job done! I bought 3 magnets - 2 for the right side of my laptop monitor to hold up my Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, and one for the left side to hold up my phoine. Altogether, I installed 4 metal plates to my laptop so that I have the option of placing the extra monitor on the left or right side. The adhesive used on the metal plates is 3M VHB, which is the best advesive on the market, and perfect for this use case. The magnets are heavy and strong, and the adhesive is strong, After a month of usage, I can say 'so far, so good'. I ahve the following comments to add: 1) The cure time of the 3M VHB adhesive at room temperature is as follows: approximately 50% of the ultimate strength will be achieved after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours and 100% after 72 hours. Therefore, I waited the full 72 hours before even trying to attach and use the magnets and extra monitor. You won't regret waiting 72 hours, and you will be sorry (or disappointed) if you don't wait the full 72 hours. Why would you not, after spending $30+ for each magnet. 2) Don't go cheap and buy only one magnet to hold up the wait of a tablet or monitor...buy two as suggested by the seller. One magnet will constantly result in sagging and a disappointing experience. 3) If you attach a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra as your second monitor, please be aware that the magnets will cause the screen to 'blank out' if you attach the tablet in landscape 'right-side-up' orientation (meaning, the camera and buttons are on the top edge of the monitor. This was an unexpected result, however, flipping the monitor in landscape 'upside-down' orientation (camera and buttons are on the bottom) does not blank out the screen, and the screen still displays correctly...so that is what I did. The unintended consequence of mounting the tablet in this position is that the charging port is on the edge that sandwiches to the laptop, making it unavailable for charging while the tablet is mounted and in use. 4) I rated this setup as 4 stars for versatality only because the setup does not allow the angle of the screen to be adjusted, but the fixed angle of the magnets gives the screen a nearly-perfect viewing angle. 5) Versatality was also downgraded because the weight of the magnets and the extra screen and the cell phone causes my laptop lid to fall completely back if i tilt the laptop screen back more than just a few degress. At home, I grab any sturdy object to prop up the screen from behind if I feel I need to tilt the angle back more. Away from home, I would wish for some type of adhesive 'flap' that could attach to the back of the laptop screen and be pulled out when needed to prop up the screen, and pressed flat when not needed. All in all, I love this purchase and it has made me infinitely more productive on the road, at the library, etc.

whoa, dawg
When I bought this, I overlooked that the contraption itself was made of a neodymium magnet. I read other reviews and decided to purchase my own super-strong little magnets to adhere to my devices, since everyone was complaining about the weak adhesion in the magnets that came with it. I think this was a mistake lol. So, if you're like me and enjoy speed reading through product descriptions before impulse buying, let me clear this up in bullet point form: - The mount, in its entirety, is made of basically the strongest magnet known to man. It is VIOLENTLY strong if it's around other neodymium magnets. DO NOT purchase additional neodymium magnets to adhere to devices; you will have an impossible time separating the mount from your devices. - It comes with two sets of 3M magnets; Two square 3M VHB (that can hold 5lbs+ of weight) and two circular 3M magnets that you'd find in a phone case or for use in a car phone mount. I used the 3M circular magnet on my iPad (7th, 10.2"), and the square 3M VHB on my MacBook Pro's cover. These are more than sufficient. - Although the mount comes with a total of four 3M magnets, you should only be using 2. You need to remove the magnets stuck to the mount when it arrives. I think this is why people think this mount is weak: they're sticking a 3M adhesive magnet to their device and then expecting it to stick to a separate 3M magnet that is stuck on the mount. - It is VERY difficult to remove the 3M magnets from the mount, but you'll need to do this to get it to actually hold your device without slippage. To do this, slide the magnet off of the mount (you'll know what I mean when you see it). - If you're not comfortable with putting an adhesive magnet on your device, you can actually slip the 3M magnets between a case and your device; I am currently doing this with my MacBook and it holds perfectly fine. - You can remove the mount from your devices as frequently as you would like to -- in fact, I'd encourage this. The weight of my iPad shifts the center of gravity for my MacBook (naturally). So I wouldn't recommend leaving it for longer than a few hours at a time, especially if you're using a MacBook stand -- mine is pretty much propped up, so my iPad is fully suspended in air. - If you're using this for Sidecar and an iPad, the shift of weight/center of gravity issue could become really annoying if you're using the MacBook's keyboard. Every time you lift a palm while typing, the MacBook will tilt in the direction of the iPad, lol. But this is not an issue if you're using a MacBook stand and Bluetooth keyboard (which I would highly recommend). Overall, I am extremely happy with this product. Perfect execution, brilliant invention. The brand needs to work on their instructions a bit so they can avoid all the low ratings of people who don't realize the entire mount is made of neodymium magnet and they need to remove the 3M magnets that come stuck to it first. Information is power (and higher reviews)!

great concept! (adhesion, not so great!)
I'm using two of these to attach portable monitor, a near perfect solution, would love to see some improvements... Adhesion (metal plates) - I have followed all the instructions, cleaned, dried and haven't used magnets for more than 12hrs after sticking metal plates, but after very first day of use, one of the metal plates came off... I hate to return the product for this reason, will buy replacement metal plates and see if they work better. Please fix this issue. Angle - Magnets have slight angle to them, but not enough to position attached monitor at a comfortable viewing angle. It will take some re-imagination (maybe two magnets attached with a hinge which gives 45 degrees swivel?), but as it is today, it takes a bit to reach towards end of the attached monitor. Attach / Detach - Magnets are very strong, they attach forcibly (could they damage monitor/laptop?) and also take a bit of strength to detach (could wear off glue behind metal plates over time?). Like mentioned above, it will take some re-imagination to solve this as well. Weight - This has nothing specific to this product, but after attaching a monitor (mine is 1.4lbs), your laptop will get heavy to use in your lap comfortably, so one might want to prop up so that monitor weight is taken by a pillow or something :) Overall, it's still a fantastic product! I have not tried side mount clip, but I would imagine it would be a hassle and also if one over tightens may damage the screen(?). This is probably the best product in the market and I will highly recommend it!

Useless - One good and one extremely weak magnet
This does not work at all. Followed the video to the T and it won't hold up. One magnet is strong enough (just barely). The other is almost not even magnetic. Like one of those extremely cheap fridge magnets you get for free from someone advertising something they want you to stick to your fridge. Going to try to return but they'll probably decide to keep the return and not refund me because the adhesive is so strong I'm not going to chance destroying my devices. My two cents, avoid this unless your a gambler.

Product does not work on IBM Thinkpad
Product worked great to hold up my IPad next to my laptop screen I even purchase 2 so it would be more stable and then would not stick to the laptop. Christian from the company contacted me to try and help me out. They even added a blurb in the description so the instructions were a bit cleared. Un fortunately the metal plates you stick on will not stick to an IBM thinkpad. He refunded me my money without me even asking. Product might not have worked for me but the customer service that was shown by the company warranted a change in stars.

Holds strong. Can be angled.
My typical use case is connecting a KYY branded screen to my Dell laptop through one of the two USB-C ports. I had been using the stand that comes with the monitor, but wanted to try physically attaching it to my computer. Even though the screen weight was almost double the recommendation for just one mount, using the suggestion to mount it near the top so it can pivot down and rest against the laptop screen works perfectly fine. I noticed, however, that when I sit in front of my laptop, the secondary monitor attached to Hold Me Is not angled to my face and the display looks dimmer than it should. This is particularly important for me as I’m working outside in the sunlight and I need as much brightness as possible. The solution would be for me to sit in between my monitors, but the my keyboard would no longer be in front of my body. The mount needs a little bit more angle. The normal vector coming from the face of the display should be pointed to my eyes when I turn my head. I was able to manually bend the magnet mount slightly to give a better angle. Another concern I have, but haven’t had to deal with yet, is traveling with the magnet mount. I’m not sure where I should put it that would be safe and not damage other magnetically sensitive items I’ll be caring with me. For example, when I travel through an airport, I often take my wallet out and put it in my laptop bag. My ID is often outside of my wallet as it is needed to be shown to the TSA people. I’m concerned that the magnetic field strength from the rare earth metals in the mount might do something bad to the mag strip on my driver’s license or even my other credit cards. One potential solution for this, or at least to help mitigate the problem, would be to use thinner, metal plates that a user could use during transport. That should short out or shunt the flux lines and keep them from reaching out and touching critical components, like credit cards, and IDs.

everything is perfect
Before that, I used a model from another brand that was compressed from the side of the screen. Unfortunately my screen was cracked and I was very depressed. This product is exactly what I wanted. The best part is that thanks to the given angle, the iPad is in my proper viewing angle. I really liked this. It came to Turkey in a short time. Packaging was nice. I bought 2 of them. But even 1 of them holds my 11" ipad pro very well. (I use it vertically. I open the PDF files from there) I would like to point out: I don't know why the product images on Amazon looked bad to me. But the black piece with the magnet is definitely very high quality, The appearance is also nice. Since it is a soft material, it does not damage the devices, and this prevents it from sliding up and down due to the weight. The only thing I can criticize is this: When we want to remove the metal plate that we have pasted on the computer for some reason, doing this risks damaging the device. It is necessary to plan and implement (The sticking plate sticks very firmly) I recommend it to everyone...

I believe this could be a great product...
My experience wasn't the best. The setup and install was simple and easy to follow. I really enjoyed my dual monitors for a few days until I had to travel. When I got back home one of the adhesive strips had fallen off. I was very surprised by this because the material felt so strong. I haven't been able to use my dial monitors since. I would really appreciate a replacement as this was a pretty hefty cost at almost $25 per magnet and I had to purchase two for my needs. I will gladly update my review base upon the replacement of the faulty magnet.
