These are nicely spicy (about the heat of a habanero with a different kind of bite) and work great for soaking meats to marinade in, as well as in salsa. I have some in a grinder currently to use over griddled dishes and will be including them in my chili stews this winter, too. Versatile, hot pepper with a lot of flavour--very fresh and very aromatic! I recommend you store these in a bag other than the one they came in or your cupboard may smell exclusively of chiltepins. Wonderful spice for a very reasonable price...I'm glad I found this gem of a shoppe!

Chiltepin hot smokey peppers are difficult to find. They add a distinct smoke flavor with a high degree of heat. Simply a unique , flavorful and HOT pepper. More flavor than habanero or other hot peppers. Simply try it for a welcome change of pace!

Fresh whol chilies. I know this because the seeds are excellent and have great growing potential. I’m very impressed with the product and highly recommend it. They are crunchy and full of flavor.

I use these whole and also grind them with other peppers in my spice grinder. Good taste and nice heat.

My son is a displaced Texan now living in Chicago. These things grow wild in my yard here in Texas, and I was always picking them and sending them to him. Last year, poor pepper crop. So, last Christmas, I turned to Amazon, and lo and behold, I found some! Sent him a 4 ounce bag. He gushed over them for months. "Best Christmas gift ever!" Says that they were fresh, very hot, high quality. He even planted a few in pots and now has a few plants growing in his window. So, this Christmas, I sent him a bigger bag. Best gift ever for a displaced Texas country boy! I wanna go home to the armadillo...

I ordered a 4 oz. package of Chiltepin peppers on a Friday & received them on that Monday! That was pretty impressive considering the shipping was free & the package came from California (I live in Florida....) - while I have yet to make the salsa I've been planning on, the peppers look & smell very fresh. I could actually smell them through the plastic bag, through the shipping envelope AND through the mailbox as I was unlocking the front door to my house yesterday! I have no doubt that they will also taste fresh & excellently serve the purpose which I bought them for. If I can nail down a solid recipe I'll definitely be ordering again.

It’s really nice and convenient especially to know that Amazon carries this type of chili which isn’t easy to get .. family handed down recipes using this type of chili and the second main ingredient chili makes it way easier to make our homemake chili…. Taste ,quality flavor , when done right it’s like no other chili sauce you have ever tasted thanks to Amazon more people will to try

Love the heat and the Smoky flavor. I use it in my sauces and Mexican recipes all the time. Highly recommend.
