Handled a LOT of torque
Highly recommend this if you are having an issue with stuck spark plug threads. I tapped the 3/8" one down into the cylinder head where my spark plug threads were seized....BADLY. The spark plug was so seized the jam nut broke clean off of the threads. I used a Lisle 65700 porcelain puller to get the porcelain out of the way (came out in one piece, thank GOD), I was initially trying with little success a 6-point socket to turn the 3/8 easy-out but it kept jumping inside the socket. I ordered a pipe plug socket kit with a 3/8 female to get a good hold and it worked like a charm. This is the kit I ordered -MIXPOWER 11 Pieces 3/8-inch Drive Pipe Plug Socket Set,I most definitely put around 150-175ft lbs of torque on this, and it didn't break.10/10 would buy again.

Helped me extract a titanium screw
I’ve tried cheaper options and couldn’t get my titanium screw out of my hydrofoil. This plus penetrating oil finally worked!

Good extractor when used appropriately…
As with any product like this, a little due diligence goes along way. If you prep the work piece appropriately, this device works very well. If you appropriately drill out the bolt or stud to be extracted, let it marinate in WD-40 or PB blaster for several hour, tap the extractor in securely, Success is almost guaranteed. The splines do tend to wear a little bit after multiple uses, However no worse than any other basic extraction tools. Just don’t expect it to work miracles without a little bit of prep work. Money well spent!

Broke spark plug thread, stuck in head
Life saver. Cannot recommend enough.Over torqued a 9/16” spark plug. Used the 5/16” drill. I was lucky because I had taken the plug out (after over torquing and started the shredding process) and put it back into the head when the thread separated from the plug. So I did not have to use any PB oil or what have you. The porcelain came clean off so there was no debris. Again, luckyUsed scotch tape to mate the drill to the inside of the socket so they would stay together.Couple of soft taps from a rubber mallet and began to turn counter clockwise very gently with the ratchet. I could see the tool rising so I knew the thread was coming out.Ran the car for about 15 minutes before driving around. No codes and drive well.

Softer than Needed
To begin with I work as a professional aircraft powerplant mechanic, and I mostly used these to extract brass and steel galley plugs that round out.-Soft steel plugs proved too hard for the edges of these extractors as the extractors would compress after a month of use.-Brass plugs were no problem, however i broke the 15/64 off in one in a Continental belly oil galley plug.I always heat the area around the plug after drilling the plug and then use the extractor. Was quite annoyed when it broke off. I then had to drill out the extractor, but ended up pushing it through during drilling (was surprised i could even drill the extractor, usually you cant.) A good 30 minute head ache. But for home use or not frequent use i would recommend these. But i cant recommend them for professional/heavy use.

It Worked !!
I have a 2004 Dodge Durango 5.7 Hemi and that I purchased with 197,000 miles. I always change plugs on a used vehicle when I first buy one. NEVER had a problem till this time. ALL plugs were extremely tight, hard to turn loose. The 4th plug hole from the front, on the right side broke off, these plugs sit DEEP in the cylinder head. I WAS DEVASTATED, and stressed out to the max. Figured I was screwed big time, faced with towing it somewhere or attempting to pull the heads myself. Anyway, it took about 3 days getting the broke plug out, and my friends help, and soaking in PB Blaster. YOU HAVE TO PUNCH OUT THE CENTER OF THE BROKEN PLUG, and then drive the extractor in the center of the remaining threaded metal part of the plug. TURN COUNTER CLOCKWISE, I used the 2nd to biggest extractor. I can’t put all instructions and details on here, it would take too long. When you punch/knock out the remaining porcelain, the end WILL FALL INTO THE CYLINDER HEAD but you can get it out, it won’t fall down far into No Mans Land And Disappear. We made some punch tools and a magnet on a wire. The big body style durango hemi’s are not fun to change plugs.

Great for 5/8” broken spark plug
Got my broken spark plug piece out of 2003 3.0 litre Mazda. I used probably 150 ft lbs or more of torque and I got it to break loose the ratcheted it out using all 3/8” drive tools. Didn’t snap on me so I would say great product.

Excellent tool
Superb. Bought these to try and remove 2 broken spark plugs on a Ford Focus. Used the largest size in the pack with a 3/8 extension upside down with an adjustable spanner to turn it. Gripped the broken off bit with no bother and pulled it straight out. Saved me taking the cylinder head off.

Brilliant kit for broken Spark plug
Spark plug snapped off leaving the ceramic inside which is worst case scenario. I used a very fine chisel to chip away the ceramic down by 10mm to allow the easy out to get into the plug. I used blue tack on the end of the chisel to remove the broken ceramic pieces. Once this was done I taped the 3/8 (largest one) easy out to a 3/8 extension and tapped in as deep as possible into plug. Used an adjustable spanner on the top of the extension to slowly turn. Big relief after removing plug in tact and nothing inside cylinder. Excellent tool set.
