Great product, misleading advertising
Important note for anyone considering this item: the first item, Stitchsmart 2 stand for $170, does not include the LED light and pattern holder even though they are pictured in the description. If you want those you have to purchase them separately by purchasing the item labeled "Art Deco" for $120. That means for the whole setup you will be spending about $300. While the product description for the $120 accessories claims that the stand is included, this is a lie. I nearly deducted a whole star for this. Now we can get on with how cool this stand is. My first impressions are very positive. The frame holder does accommodate my 11" Q-snap frame (see picture.) I will note that it's probably a bit less secure with Q-snaps than a standard hoop would be, but it works fine for my purposes. This stand has functionality that many do not - it rotates 360 degrees so you can easily reach the back of your work. It is pretty adjustable to suit my height and the angle of the frame. It appears to be of very sturdy construction. It's easy to slide under the couch, it's easy to move. (Note: make sure you have at least 3" clearance under your couch or it might not fit.) I love the accessories which I purchased separately. They are of very high quality, very adjustable and sturdy! The LED is fantastic, clear daylight, the perfect amount of light and can be set to any angle. (The light has a much bigger diameter than the product description of 3" - it's about 7".) I haven't used the magnifier yet but it's fun to look through, very clear and detailed. The pattern holder is so secure I think it would even hold a tablet, if you could find a way to protect the tablet from the teeth. $120 is a lot for accessories but they feel substantial and really well-made so I do not feel ripped off. This is the perfect little stitching set up. I'm glad I made the investment.

Great stand!
I have had this for a while now and it is so great! I had been eyeing this stand for a long time but was worried because of the price. I have been getting wrist pain holding up my cross stitch frames (scroll frames and some q snaps) and have tried many other stands and was always disappointed! With lots of screws that can strip and so many minor adjustments to make they are always a headache. This one is so great. Just open up the jaw and place your frame inside, then tighten. You can adjust the angle, flip it to look at the back of your piece, and adjust the height all without moving from your chair! It slides under my couch and appears sturdy, yet is lightweight. I have been using it currently with an 11” q snap and a clip on magnifier and light. The magnifier is supposed to clip to edge of desks, but holds onto the back of the frame easily, and I shove my scissors into one of the holes where you are supposed to be able to put a light or a stand for a pattern holder. It works great! This is by far my favorite frame so far and totally worth the price tag!

Love this stand.
I love it. It works for my large needlepoint. I wish it had small wheels as I heave to push it with my feet to get it away from my chair. But it still works perfect and I would buy it again.

Love this
Very nice stand! Easy, easy to put together. Do not hesitate to spend the money if you stitch frequently. I can't say enough things about it.

Better than craft store junk
I’m not sure how “sheerness” and “thickness” are applicable here, but the stand is nice and “ sturdy” compared to craft store junk. I got the light/magnifier/chart holder to go with it. Light/magnifier is awesome, chart holder isn’t strong enough to hold my IPad, but it wasn’t designed for that. I’m using it with a Q-snap frame. The frame clamp seems to be more suited for holding square rather than round frames. It works ok, but tends to slip, especially when rotating to the backside. Maybe they should include an adapter for this. Overall, decent rig for the price.

Great stand for use with needlework!
I love this product! Bought it to use for a recently begun hobby of needlework (crewel, cross stitch, embroidery). It is great for holding either a hoop or for a scroll frame. I love the ease of adjusting height, angle, and for flipping over to the back side of your project. It is lightweight and easily portable to take wherever you are working. The holder does loosen up and needs retightening periodically; I attribute this to my frequent use of flipping it over and adjusting to my working needs. I wish I had bought the light and chart holder attachment when I bought the stand. Plan to order these to go with my Stitch Smart stand. I highly recommend this product. (I had previously ordered a cheap lap stand which was worthless and had to return it, this was worth the extra cost!)

Make sure you get a NEW one!
I have been wanting this stand for quite some time, and finally was able to get it while I was visiting family. This is not a cheap item, and it is very well made, seems sturdy, and I would like to say I was able to use it right away. However, when I got it, the box looked as though it had been shipped/opened before, and this was even more apparent on the inside. It was very easy to put together, and once I had done that, I started playing with the adjustments to see how they worked. That is when I noticed several scratches on the top of the unit, and found that the Thumbscrew (#6 in the diagram), was extremely tight and the part which it controls was off-center and not responding to the Thumbscrew's action. So, obviously someone had used this before, and it looks like they took it completely apart at that juncture and couldn't get it back together properly and ended up forcing it in and jamming the Thumbscrew for the tilt adjustment. At any rate, I am very unhappy that I now have to get a replacement, which had darned well better be a brand-new one, and take the time and gas to take this one where I can send it back to Amazon.

An honest review
I bought this stand 4 years ago and have used it 3+ hours almost every single day (yes, I’m an avid needlepointer). About 3 years into use the height adjustment screw started cracking. It never fully broke, but because it was cracked the hold was weakened so every few days I had to loosen the - oddly - very tight screw fixture and raise it back up. The downward movement was imperceptible until I realized my hoop was almost touching my legs. Last week the plastic bit covering the metal bit holding the hoop clamp to the top of the stand cracked and a small piece fell off. I noticed my hoop was wobbling a bit and when I turned it around to look I saw the crack. My husband looked at both issues and tried to jerry-rig the height screw, but no joy. When he saw the latest plastic crack he said “buy another one.” So I did. I think 4 years of overall great functionality is totally worth $95! It’s a very stable stand, but very light weight. Hubby bought me an 8 inch lighted magnifying glass with a c-clamp that fits great on this stand. Even with the extra weight of the magnifying glass I never had a problem with the stability of the stand. The clamp that holds my needlepoint hoop has a metal tooth locking mechanism to adjust the angle of the hoop. And then the whole thing turns 360degrees for easy access to the back of my work. And the top of the stand that holds the hoop pivots side to side - possibly 360degrees, but I’ve never tried moving it that far… I love this stand, and as I said, I’ve gone ahead and bought a second one now that the first is slowly dying. It’s worth every penny!

A stand that is easy to set up and good to use for hoops and qsnaps
Received my stand within 10 days from order via DHL. It was easy to set up and feels very sturdy due to its wide base design. It is also quite lightweight making it easy to move from room to room.
