Make warmups an effective part of the technical training session
Provides a detailed explanation of how to make the warmup an effective part of the training session. Warmup should not a time waster before you start but an integral part of the training program. Caused me to make major changes to the way I run warmups for fencing. A quicker, more effective warmup and better use of time. After elements from warmup for a strength and power program, including footwork practice (at increasing speeds and intensity) with technical coaching ad then antagonistic agility pair drills. Obvious in retrospect.

Exceptional. Catalyst for a mindset shift.
Incredible book. I completely re imagined how my teams prepare for training sessions and games. Over an entire year the benefits were beyond the predicted. Prevantable (non contact) injuries were down from 40+ (in a group of 27) to 4 in a group of 34 which included the original 27 surveyed. Skill development was also evident and represented in individual analysis as well as feedback from those individuals. Overall performance of the group was at an entirely new level and the elements taken from the book and tailored to fit our game not just our sport (ie. How we wanted to play) certainly contributed. The group had there most successful year winning a regional competition for the first time. The knowledge gained and applied from this book certainly influenced this.
