SINGER Needle Threader Assistant - Automatic Hand Sewing Needle Threader

This is a nifty gadget that helps you thread a needle. I think it would fit most standardized needles. The instructions were clear and I was able to get the needle threaded on my first try. Tip: when you place the thread on the V groove, ensure you have enough slack on both sides, ie ~4-5 inches. I didn’t have to use tweezers or slooooooowwwly do anything. Although, I can see that I would have to be more careful if I had to thread something that was attached to what I was working on. I did have a problem with opening the needle compartment, because there were no instructions. You need to TWIST the dark magnet/cap off. Do I need this? No, I’m in my thirties and my eyes haven’t failed me. And I can usually get the needle on, but it is the limiting factor. And it can be a strain on my eyes to get that needle threaded, so I thought this MIGHT help reduce the negative effects on my eyes sight. I also like the magnet pick up (which you can accomplish with any magnet) and the needle compartment (which you can use pin cushions for), and a cheap 5 cent needle threader usually does the job, BUT I like nifty doo-dads that are all-in-one. I actually found this because I broke my cheap needle threader and I was in the market for a needle holder.

Make your life easier. Used to use the ordinary loop like threader but this is on another level.

Out of 10 tries it only threaded once. It poked a small loop through the needle eye but pulled the thread right out as soon as it "cleared" the devise. The instructions are awkward. It is not a down-ward push on the lever, it is a side-ways push. And the lever does not indicate when the push-through pin is engaged or not. The needle size indicator is mysterious, too. There is no indication whether "up" or "down" is small size needle or large. And it doesn't seem to matter because it does not work either way.

This needle threader works good and is well made it’s not cheap material I can’t see to thread a needle and this gets the job done

This really is difficult to use as a threader. Pros: The container for needles is very convenient, as is the magnet on the grey tip of the tool. The blade at the top works well for cutting thread, and has cut through 6 and 12 strand embroidery thread with barely any effort. Cons: The tool's gimmick is that it threads a needle easily with the press of the button. The tool works by pushing the thread into the eye, but it doesn't push it far enough, and when you pull the threaded needle out, more than half the time the thread pulls right back out if you aren't really careful. Another good portion of the time, not all of the threads end up pushing through. I just think the tool isn't well designed in one way or another. It's a shame because the tool is good quality and works fine, but not well enough. Especially for the price.

I only have a small gripe. The magnet *could* be stronger, but it works in finding lost needles or holding them until I am ready to use the needle again. Regardless, this product works great. I love that it has a switch for large and small eyes in the needles. I love that it can hold the needles in the twist off bottom; I love that I can leave thread on the needle and still store it in the bottom (I just leave the thread hanging out, and when I need the needle again, I twist off the bottom and pull the tread that has the needle instead of dumping out all of the needles.) The threader works great, even though I've been a little rough with it. :) Sometimes the threader misses the needle eye, but that is because I have used the wrong size eye for the number of threads (I tried getting three threads in a small eye..... that didn't work so well. But changing up the needle worked). The small thread cutter (razor) is easy to use and tucked in for safety.

When I gently withdrew the needle (Step 6) it came out without the loop of thread. I tried many times, then I found a better way. For better results, append the instructions with these steps: 6. Release the lever (E), but don’t withdraw the needle. 7. Look for the loop of thread in window (C) and grasp it with tweezers. 8. Pull the loop and draw out one of the two ends of thread, leaving one in the needle. 7. Withdraw the threaded needle. It works every time.

IT JUST WOULD NOT THREAD NEEDLES.HAD A FEW PEOPLE TRY TO MAKE IT WORK. NO LUCK. MAYBE THIS ONE WAS A DUD.

The additional instructions provided by a reviewer are very helpful indeed - they should be added to the product description and packaging instructions. A fine crotchet hook also works (instead of tweezers). However, as a reviewer notes, this device is a help but its not 'automatic' and it still requires good eyesight and dexterity. I am surprised (given a possibly extensive market, including younger children in schools ) that a manufacturer hasn't yet come up with an electronic (rechargeable) needle positioner and thread 'pusher' that really is automatic. And at a reasonable price (this Singer one is towards top of price bracket likely to market well I think).

No hilvana todo tipo de agujas. Las grandes no entran y las más pequeñas el hilo se le queda fuera.

Read comments to sort out best way to use it. Takes a minute to figure it out, but once you do it is great.
