I bought these to add some lighting to my web meetings and other video content I'm going to be producing. They have been working well for my needs so far. First impression was that the package was smaller than I was expecting. The carrying case is quite compact when everything is disassembled and folded up. The mounting poles are in four telescoping sections, which helps with portability. However when fully extended, they are about 6 feet tall. Even at that height, the tripod bases seem to be stable, though you might want to add some weights if you regularly use them at that height. Also the charging cords just barely reach when fully extended, so keep that in mind if you will be using them for an extended period. The lights themselves are very bright at 100% and produce a nice soft light without having to add additional diffusion. The adjustable color temperature is a nice feature. They appear to peak in brightness at around 4000-4200K, I assume because this powers both sets of LEDs about equally. If you go to the highest or lowest color temp, the brightness will be somewhat less, but this is normal for dual-temp LEDs. The battery life is great also. I ran them for nearly two hours on battery when I first got them, and the charge on both lights went down to around 30%. They charge back up quickly too, and of course you can use them while charging -- though as I mentioned, the cords are exactly 6 feet, so you will need extension cords unless they're placed right on top of an outlet. The only annoyance is that the brightness and color temp settings can be changed while the lamp is off, and the switch is right next to the control dials on the back of the unit. So if you are fishing around for the switch, perhaps while the light is high up on the pole, you will inevitably hit one of the dials and change your settings. This requires bringing the light down so the screen can be seen and making adjustments. If the switch were on the other side from the dials, or if they didn't change while powered off, this wouldn't be a problem. But it's not something I'd consider a dealbreaker -- just something to be alert to.

I bought this on a Lightning deal to augment a Neewer studio lighting kit that uses CFL bulbs and soft-boxes. This RaLeno kit is much more compact and portable, with a very serviceable carrying case and impressively sturdy tripods (much sturdier than those in the Neewer lighting kit). Though I only received this RaLeno kit yesterday, I can tell that this is the one that I'll be taking with me to remote shooting locations, as it's lightweight, super simple to set up, and has built-in batteries. The lights themselves are slightly smaller than an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, and they weigh just about a pound each. They stay impressively cool to the touch, never getting much warmer than body temperature around the edges (the lighting surface itself never gets even warm). They put out 650 lux per light, which is roughly equivalent to a 50-watt bulb. A pair of these aren't going to turn your whole room into something you can see from space, but they are certainly bright enough to illuminate a subject for close-in shots, or serve as a fill light (especially with the ability to adjust brightness by 1% values). You can also adjust the color temperature easily, with an LCD readout on the back of the panel. But what is most impressive about this set is the battery life. The built-in batteries lasted more than 2 hours and 45 minutes on first use, shining at 100% brightness. That makes these very useful for outside shooting, or even popping on top of a camera to go gonzo. Given that you can operate with either battery or power adapter, these are useful for a permanent setup or for traveling about. If I were to make one suggestion, it would be to provide a way to mount the lights sideways, since they are slightly wider than tall, in order to provide some flexibility for portrait illumination versus the native landscape orientation. But that's just a quick idea to improve an already impressive piece of kit. I think this RaLeno setup is very reasonable package at a fine price.

I record anime figure unboxings for YouTube. I've always relied on natural lighting and random desk lamps. During winter, this becomes a real struggle as it's typically dark by time I get home from work and the room lighting tends to give things a yellow tint. After the last video was a mess of harsh shadows and blown out areas, I decided to look into better lights. I chose this set as it had everything to get me started. 2 tripods, two mounts, 2 power cables, a carrying case, and most importantly, 2 lights with built in batteries. The set arrived quickly, and in perfect condition. Everything was easy to set up and the controls are super simple. The tripods are adjustable so the lights can be about 2 feet from the floor, to almost the ceiling. The lights themselves came fully charged, and can have the color temperature as well as brightness adjusted. As I want the true colors to come through, I plan on using the highest temperature. The lights are fairly bright, but you can still look at them without too much trouble. So the closer you can get them to the focus point, the better. I made my first videos using these lights the other day, and was very impressed with the results. Everything looked so much better. Between testing the lights, and recording the videos, the lights were on for about an hour. The battery went down one bar (probably a bit more, bars are kind of inaccurate), and the lights were only slightly warm to the touch. By time I tore everything down, the were cool and able to be placed back in the carrying case. So far I am very happy with this purchase!

This is a powerful little pack of lighting gear. Traditionally it is marketed and for good reason, to photographers and the like. I must admit that I was referred to this manufacturer for online stream lighting! I needed something relatively compact with good control that could operate for several hours at a time. Enter - this gem of a product! The packaging was solid and the carry bag included was surprisingly small considering everything that is included. Inside the bag things seemed very well packed with squishy foam padding everywhere, perfect for protecting the equipment not only from the original shipping trip but wherever you may need to take it. The light panels themselves are not that big - I included my wife's iPad as a point of reference. No larger than a tablet but much lighter! All controls are consolidated to one side on the back of the panel; two scroll wheels for Brightness and Color Temperature plus the power switch as well as the charge port. The digital display in the center of the back of the panel is a beautiful feature that displays battery life and then color temp and brightness as a percentage. These panels are PLENTY bright for what I need (my key light is only at about 70%) but am happy to have the bandwidth if I ever need to use them for something else. The adjustment in color temperature is evident and I was drawn to the very high CRI so I know the colors will be accurate. I'm very pleased with this purchase and look forward to fine-tuning my setup and content with this enhanced lighting scheme!

Son casi perfectas. Sólo haría falta para mejorar las patas del trípode que son muy cortas y por eso un poco inestables. Pero hasta ahora me han funcionado de maravilla. Las recomiendo mucho. These are really great. Nice and bright (which was important to me) and can be charged to run without a cord! I haven't used the stands at all, but they're there if I need them. The come in a great travel case that is well cushioned. They are very light and sturdy feeling so I am not worried about scratching them. I am happy with this purchase.

Absolutely love these lights! They are very bright as stated. You can also change the tint of the light ranging from cool white and warm tones. Led screen on back side showing settings and charge. Would highly recommend!
